The Metamorphosis Project

Following the success of the quinx experiments, doctors at the CCG have developed a new procedure: implantation of a modified kakuhou into humans to create so-called “Shapeshifter Ghouls.” At the same time, Dr. Kanou of the Aogiri Tree is conducting experiments in the same vein. Hide begins work with the Quinx Squad after his success under the Metamorphosis Project at the same time that Yoriko becomes an experimental subject in Kanou’s lab.
This fic has the following tropes:
- Adaptation Species Change: In both anime and manga, Hide and Yoriko are human. Here, they have become half-ghoul hybrids.
- Identity Amnesia: From what she had to endure after the surgery from Dr. Kanou, Yoriko gets this. Lucky for her, she gets better after being reunited with Touka.
- Karmic Transformation: Yoriko finds her transformation into a half-ghoul as this.Yoriko: Maybe you should’ve just told me. I wouldn’t have cared.Touka: You were terrified of ghouls!Yoriko: That's fair, I guess. But I wouldn’t have been scared of you.
- Official Couple: Touka and Yoriko become this after she is rescued by the former, turning their relationship into a Yuri Genre.
