The Eight
is a fanfic by the author Mara, based on Seven Knights. The short story focuses on the fragments of destruction and its impact on the seven knights, including Vanessa, the newest member.
The Eight contains examples of the following tropes:
- Creepy Child: When "Dellons" first appears out of thin air to the team, wide-eyed and a stain of blood marked in his chest.
- Elemental Powers: Eileene, the mercenary, was able to control lightning and electricity. Rachel, on the other hand, had the abilities of a phoenix, a mythological bird associated with sun and fire.
- The Scream: Happens a couple of times. First a loud scream startles the heroic knights in the beginning. Later to be surprised by the appearance of a boy. Said boy, now a man, shouts the same horrifying and startling scream when he's surrounded by enemies stained in blood.
- Your Days Are Numbered: The epilogue reveals each member is destined to die.
