Swapphibia
is an ongoing Amphibia Alternate Universe Fic for Amphibia by madelinewritesstuff where Sasha takes Anne's place, Marcy takes Sasha's place, and Anne takes Marcy's place! Swapphibia begins with Sasha Waybright, a thirteen-year-old girl who lived a fairly basic life on Earth, being dropped into an unfamiliar world.
This fanfic contains examples of:
- Adaptational Early Appearance
- Sasha, due to landing near Wartwood and being the main character, appears at the very start of the story, as opposed to in canon where she made her first real appearance in “Prison Break”.
- Due to taking Sasha's place and landing near Toad Tower in this story, Marcy makes her first real appearance in this stories version of “Prison Break”, as opposed to in canon where she made her first real appearance in season 2.
- Adaptational Gender Identity:
- The tags of the story reveal that Anne is transgender.
- Marcy uses she/they pronouns in this story.
- Adapted Out: Sylvia Sundew. Her debut episode was not adapted. Though it is implied in Hop-Popular that it canonically happened, a comment from the author implies that Family Fishing Trip will be changed to fit the absence of Sylvia.
- Early-Installment Weirdness:
- Sasha has cherry blossoms and twigs in her hair in early chapters, something that would later be retconned.
- The fourth chapter features the concepts of bonus chapters, a concept that hasn't been used since.
- There was an artwork for each non-bonus episode up to Hop Luck, whereas now there's only art for some chapters.
- Role Swap AU: The main premise of the story is the main trio swapping starting locations with each other, with Sasha landing near Wartwood instead of near Toad Tower, Marcy landing near Toad Tower instead of in Newtopia, and Anne landing in Newtopia instead of near Wartwood.
