Westeros: Shadow Beyond The Wall

When the knife entered Jon Snow’s body, he believed it was the end. However, instead of passing off into death, Snow finds himself in a strange state: both dead, yet not allowed to enter the afterlife. The man who tells him this, an enigmatic stranger, offers him a chance at justice against his would-be killers. Indeed, there were things Jon Snow didn’t know.
’’Westeros:Shadow Beyond the Wall’’ contains the following examples:
- Barred from the Afterlife: After waking up from his assassination, Jon Snow is told he is prevented from passing on.
- Don't Say Such Stupid Things!: Jon Snow dismisses the idea that he has any destiny due to being a bastard child. The Bright Stranger tells him to cut the crap, telling him that he does indeed have a genuine role to play.
- Dramatic Irony: After seeing Jon Snow alive, Ser Davos remarks that the men trying to kill him must not keep up deep enough to finish the job, much to Jon Snow’s discomfort.
- Jacob Marley Apparel: Despite technically not being dead, Jon Snow still has stab wounds and blood-stained clothes from the experience.
- Virtue Is Weakness: The Bright Stranger tells Jon Snow that his virtue was his almost-downfall and that if he keeps following the rules, he will lose against enemies who aren’t so moral.
