In this One-Shot Fic, Goku gets bit by a baby raccoon and has to get the rabies vaccine. This is complicated by the fact that Goku is Afraid of Needles. Vegeta ends up helping Bulma give him the vaccine.
Kiss It Better provides examples of:
- Afraid of Needles: Goku is scared of needles. He claims he would rather potentially die of rabies than get the vaccine. Vegeta ends up having to restrain him to allow Bulma to give him the shot.
- Declaration of Protection: Vegeta promises Goku that he won't let anyone hurt him, to comfort his anxiety from getting a vaccine. While he does his best to protect Goku, Vegeta can't prevent him from experiencing any pain during the final shot.
- Finale Title Drop: In the final line of the fic, Vegeta says the title as a way of teasing Goku.Goku: And you knew all this time and didn't tell me? I'm hurt.
Vegeta: Are you? Show me where, then, Kakarot - I'll kiss it better. - Hurt/Comfort Fic: Goku has to get the rabies vaccine after being bitten by a raccoon. Vegeta helps him through the two-week process.
- Naïve Animal Lover: Goku catches a baby raccoon. He shows off the raccoon to Vegeta, who warns him to put it back. Goku ignores him and the scared raccoon bites his wrist. He still refuses to return the raccoon until Vegeta forcibly takes it from him.
- Self-Surgery: When asked where he got his medical skills from, Vegeta says he has experience from "sewing himself shut" when he was younger and got injured while still working for Frieza.
- Side Bet: Bulma and Chi-Chi had a bet over whether Goku or Vegeta would be the one to initiate a relationship with the other man. Chi-Chi wins the bet when Vegeta kisses Goku.
- Teleportation: Goku often uses his Instant Transmission technique to travel quickly. Before the first vaccine, he attempts to use it to escape getting the procedure, but Vegeta stops him.
