This fanfiction series contains examples of:
- Alternate Universe Fic: A What If? with the change that Dark Owl is not fooled by the fake Miraculouses that Marinette made of salt dough.
- Death Trap: Dark Owl turns the flow of whipped cream back on when he discovers he was tricked, rather than giving them a second chance.
- Drowning Pit: Filled with melted whipped cream instead of water. Ladybug figures out a different way to escape when Dark Owl reactivates it.
- Human Ladder: Marinette gets on the shoulders of Adrien to buy her time to transform.
- Swapped Roles: Escaping the trap involves temporarily exchanging Miraculouses so that Marinette becomes "Chaton Noir" and Adrien becomes "Manbug".
- The Unmasking: Ladybug and Chat Noir learn each other's identities. They also expose Hawk Moth by following up on a clue: the drone that was going to deliver the Miraculouses to Hawk Moth was programmed with the coordinates of his lair.
