Charmer Chameleon
is an Alternate Universe Fic made by RockSunner, for Miraculous Ladybug. Part of the Smart Adversaries AU for Miraculous Ladybug on AO3, in which Ladybug villains make smarter decisions. The series has a tropes page here.

This fanfiction series contains examples of:
- Adaptational Karma: Lila's lies are exposed to the class, and she is expelled and sent to reform school.
- Alternate Universe Fic: A What If? with the change that Chameleon doesn't super-leap while impersonating Adrien, so Ladybug doesn't suspect a kiss from the fake Adrien.
- Badass Normal: Alya and Nino take on a dangerous and embarrassing mission to help Marinette bring down Chameleon.
- The Bait: Marinette offers herself as bait by pretending to be fooled by Chameleon's Chat Noir form.
- Crazy Enough to Work: When Marinette reveals her plan to have a naked Alya and Nino jump Chameleon and turn her akuma into something easy to break, Nino outright asks "Are you insane?"
- Fix Fic: The exposure of Ladybug's identity allows Marinette to prove to her friends that Ladybug isn't close to Lila.
- Full-Frontal Assault: Alya and Nino attack Chameleon wearing nothing but their birthday suits and a string necklace. Alya manages to kiss Chameleon, forcing her to drop Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Lila's public near-victory against Ladybug and Chat Noir leads her mother to call the school and question why they aren't "still closed" because of akuma attacks and Lila gets expelled.
- Near-Villain Victory: Chameleon actually gets both Miraculous and is en route to Hawk Moth to deliver him ultimate victory. Marinette is forced to come up with a way to stop her with nothing but the junk in her purse and two preteens.
- Revenge Before Reason: Marinette's trap works with her as bait because Chameleon wants revenge before delivering the Miraculous to Hawk Moth.
- Technically Naked Shapeshifter: Played with. By forcing Chameleon to copy a naked person, the akumatized object is forced to become something easy to break — a loop of thread around the person's neck.
- The Unmasking: Marinette's identity as Lady is revealed to Hawk Moth and the school after her earrings are stolen. Adrien is also robbed of his ring in public. Hawk Moth is also caught.
- Unspoken Plan Guarantee: Of the "plan not revealed to the reader until it is put into action" variety.
