- Ambiguous Situation: Grayson's death, as Billy said that the young man had a gun and that he had no choice but to shoot him but Don reveals that when they were partners, Billy would occasionally get aggressive with witnesses, to Charlie's horror.
- Badass in Distress: Don ends up being held hostage by Sammy, older brother of Grayson, Charlie's student.
- Call-Back: Billy returns to LA after first appearing in the season one episode "Man Hunt", which first revealed Don's past in fugitive recovery.
- Character Death: Both of the Holloway brothers are killed, by Billy Cooper, though it is unclear whether or not Grayson was really trying to kill Cooper or not.
- It's Personal: For Charlie, as Grayson is his student and the brother of Sammy, a fugitive that Billy is chasing and suspects Grayson to be involved.
