Accidental Child Aquisition
is a Danny Phantom story in which Danny, as the ghost king, has been repeatedly summoned by cultists, much to his annoyance. This time, a group of cultists try to sacrifice a young girl to him, and while he saves her, as a consequence of the ritual he ends up adopting her.
Accidental Child Aquisition contains examples of:
- Big Eater: After being taken to the Keep, Hesper starts really packing in the food, which isn't surprising given her history.
- The Cassandra: No matter what he tries, Wes seems completely unable to convince anyone that Danny is more than he seems. Even Danny himself is somewhat baffled about it.
- Fainting: After being told by Frostbite that the girl he rescued is now his daughter, and realizing that Dani has a link just like hers, meaning that she's technically his daughter too, Danny faints.
- Hesper herself faints from the stress of being the captive of the cultists and forcibly bonded to Danny.
- Human Sacrifice: Cultists have been offering them to Danny when they summon him as the Ghost King. The reason the cultists offered up Hesper is that he kept letting the adult "sacrifices" go, and they were trying another tactic.
- Parents as People: While Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz may not have asked to be Promoted to Parent, they still do their best to do a good job, even if they barely get any sleep as a result, something Xander quickly notices.
- Promoted to Parent: When he changes the soul bond to one that won't hurt young Hesper, Danny effectively adopts her, since the only kind of bond that won't hurt a soul as young as hers is a parental one. Sam, Tucker, and Jazz quickly step in to help.
- This happens again when word spreads of what happened spreads of the first incident, and he takes in a pair of brothers.
- Inconvenient Summons: Although it was funny at first, Danny quickly becomes annoyed by cultists summoning him, both because of who’s doing the summoning and the inconvenience in the timing, like when he's with his parents.
- Stalker without a Crush: Wes stalks Danny in an attempt to get proof about his secret. Danny likes to use this to mess with him, like freezing his cameras.
- They Just Dont Get It: Danny has tried to get the cultists summoning him to knock it off with both the summoning in general and trying to give him some kind of Human Sacrifice, but even after he keeps letting the "sacrifices" go, they can't comprehend that he doesn't want said sacrifices, to the point that Danny has accepted that any attempt to get them to drop it are futile and doesn’t even try anymore. This is what leads to the group of cultists kidnapping Hesper.
