* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Somewhat ''literally'' with Summer Rose. While she is the mother of the Anchor and the most beloved person in her life [[spoiler: other than Penny or Weiss]], she's also assumed to be [[DeadAllAlong long deceased when the story begins]], meaning she may well '''''never''''' loop.

* [[BreakHisHeartToSaveHim Break Her Heart To Protect Her]]: Jaune tried to pull this on Pyrrha when she confessed her feelings to him, accusing her of playing a joke on him when he knew she was being honest, and that he returned her affections, because he was convinced he wasn't strong enough to be worthy of her. [[TheyDo Thankfully]], his friends [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan put a stop]] to that.

* CriticalResearchFailure: The very first line of the fic was supposed to also be Ruby's first spoken line from the show, "Are you robbing me?" Rather, she says "Are you mugging me?" Eventually [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in-universe, causing Ruby to have a short existential meltdown.

** Roman Torchwick and Sun Wukong. One is a ClassyCatBurglar, the other is a [[LittleBitBeastly monkey man]] who DidNotGetTheGirl. Together, [[TheyFightCrime Roman kills Sun.]] [[RunningGag A lot.]] To teach him how to be a Looper.

* ConversationalTroping: Several of the loopers have mentioned browsing [[Wiki/TVTropes this very wiki]] when they visit the Hub, and have taken to referring to certain tropes by name.

** Ozpin [[UpToEleven manages to stealth loop while interacting directly with the other loopers]] by using his own MultipleChoicePast to claim his semblance that loop made him aware of the loops.

* TheStarsAreGoingOut: This happens during the Tale of Two Sisters. It's accompanied by shards of the moon entering the atmosphere. And then, the ''[[UpToEleven sky itself]]'' seems to vanish...

It has countless characters, both good, evil, and canine, from many species and with many secrets. It is the home of two of the Multiverse's few married Loopers. Many of its Loopers are dead in Baseline. It was once filled with Stealth Loopers, and even today the characters hold deep secrets that threaten their world. All of this, and more, lurks within the RWBY Loops.

* AdultFear: When Kali starts looping, she's somewhat disturbed by the realization that Blake grew up without her. The revelation that she didn't even exist prior to the volume 4 expansions and that her daughter thought she was an orphan who grew up on the streets is enough to send Kali into a full-blown HeroicBSOD and attract a huge swarm of Grimm.

* {{Doorstopper}}: At 185 chapters and two million-plus words, the RWBY loops definitely qualifies.

* MetaFic: Like many other loopers, the cast here are aware that they are fictional in the Hub, and will often save a copy of the corresponding episode in their pocket whenever they have an expansion. Some also have a habit of reading [[WebAnimation/{{RWBY}} their series' page]] on this very wiki.

* BreakingTheFourthWall[=/=]ConversationalTroping: One snippet has Cinder and Weiss briefly discuss an edit made in the Hub to RWBY's [[Characters/{{RWBY}} character page]].

* CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot: The CFVY Machines and all the angst involved with them could have been avoided if Ruby refused to roboticize them.

* NonStandardCharacterDesign: In terms of loop mechanics. For [[TrueCompanions some reason]] all of the loopers who have been activated so far have activated in pairs, the only exceptions being Ruby and Weiss. [[spoiler: Even they actually shared the same first loop, Ruby died and it reset before Weiss noticed.]] This is true for Blake and Yang, Jaune and Pyrrha, Ren and Nora, Roman and Neo, Zwei and Ozpin, Cinder and Glynda, Qrow and Winter, Penny and Ironwood, Taiyang and Sun, Raven and Kali... It's later revealed this was a deliberate choice by the Admins. Because Remnant was so damaged during the Crash, numerous loopers needed to be activated with each expansion so as to help stabilize it. Once the Volume 5 expansions happened, the branch was stabilized enough that the paired looping system was no longer needed and as such deactivated, with the next two loopers, [[spoiler:Maria and Mercury]], activating because of the Crisis rather than the system.

* TragicVillain: Unlike in canon, where the main characters were more focused on the fact that Ozpin was still keeping secrets from them, everyone has a more nuanced perspective on his and Salem's past thanks to the loops. They actually pity Salem and unanimously agree that Oz and her got a raw deal from the Brothers, and no longer treat killing her and stopping her plans so casually. When they can, they even try to purify her, if not stop her descent altogether.

* ForWantOfANail: Mercury manages to accidentally start an ''eleven-way world war'' by giving Salem a pizza with pineapple on it.
