Fanfic / Paragon Reinterpretations

Go To

Paragon Reinterpretations is a Mass Effect Alternate Universe by MB18932. It's written in similar manner to Renegade Reinterpretations, with ... well ... certain difference. For example, Renegade Reinterpretations, it Xenonationalist Vs. Assimilation. In this fic, is Xenomutualism Vs. Convergence.

At its core, this is a Fix Fic of Fix Fics. The author, disliking the mostly Renegade-leaning Mass Effect AU stories, decided to rectify this problem by taking matters into his own hands and showing the other side of the coin: if Humanity, instead of going full Renegade and curb-stomping the Turians, as they seem to be inclined to do in many AU stories, go a much different route and become an open-minded democracy that integrates peacefully with both synthetics and the Council. It sadly needs some more updates.

This page was originally about a story by RillyB.Dilly with the same name and a similar premise. Unfortunately that story has been deleted from Fanfiction.net for unknown reasons. Most of the listed tropes were added before switching the links to the surviving fic, and while many tropes apply to both fics, some may apply only to the vanished fic and not the existing one.

This work contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Heroism: Heretic Geth do not exist in Paragon Reinterpretations, all Geth reject Sovereign's offer due to their renewed hope in organic/synthetic peace, thanks to relations Human-Geth.
  • Ambadassador: Surely. Legion is the Geth ambassador to the Alliance.
  • Androids Are People, Too: In-Universe. The "Sentient Bill of Equal Rights" stated that in all Alliance space, all sentient life is considered equal in the eyes of the law.
  • Closet Geek: Legion, as in canon. He is the guild captain and founder of PvP guild "Lords of the Gears", the most successful in the extranet's largest MMO, Galaxy of Fantasy, composed entirely for gaming Geth and Alliance AI RPG enthusiasts.
  • Friend to All Living Things: The humanity, from the point of view of the councilors. It isn't a good thing.
  • Love at First Sight / Rescue Romance: Invoked regarding relations Human-Asari. In the First Contact, a unarmored passenger ship containing an all Asari crew was rescued.
  • Machine Worship / Robot Religion/ Unwanted False Faith: It was never EDI's intention to induce five percent of the Geth consensus to worship her as a living goddess.
  • Robosexual: Joker, as in canon. And is possible a romance with Legion for both male and female Shepard.
