Description:

A new member of the wiki sits at a junction of three corridors. They are considering three signs: Trope Pages, Forum, and Trope Academy.

Tropédex says:

Newbie. A newcomer to TV Tropes, who may or may not have an account. Be careful around them, as their lack of knowledge makes them extremely prone to common mistakes.

Narrative:

As you approach them, they ask you what a good place to go would be. Do you:

Point out the Trope Pages.

As the new one walks off towards the pages, edit tool in hand, you... (RNG 1-6, match number with segment)

1. yell out to them, "Remember! Tropes Are Not Bad! Tropes Are Tools!".
2. notice that their tool changed into a golden quill for a moment. (Next encounter with an Edit Warrior will add the additional text before the choices "They look familiar.".)
3. watch them change their mind and walk off in the direction of the Trope Academy.
4. see them don an aviator helmet. (Next encounter with a Parabomber will add the additional text before the choices "They look familiar.".)
5. call out to them, "Many Tropes Are Flexible; just make sure the example fully fits!".
6. glance at them as they change their mind and walk off towards the forums.

Point out the Forums.

The Newbie walks off to the Forums. You occasionally see them in the trope pages afterwards, checking what tropes to add to their RP.

Point out the Trope Academy.

The new troper walks off towards the Academy. You get the warm feeling from helping this Newbie on their first steps to Troperdom.
