"The funny thing about the Devil is that he doesn't always dress the part."
Wesley Sharpe

Begone, Prince of Darkness is an upcoming psychological and supernatural thriller web novel by SkyCat32.

Jeremy Bellows is a Realtor from Hamilton, ON, who is sent away from his fiancée, media technician Molly Williams, to Vancouver, BC, to sell a warehouse to the reclusive artist Wesley Sharpe. Unfortunately, Sharpe may not be who he seems, and he may have sinister purposes for purchasing the warehouse.

Due to the nature of the story's plot, all spoilers will be unmarked once the story is published. Details in the story can change at any moment until publication.

These tropes don't always dress the part.

  • Ambiguous Time Period: The setting is deliberately left unstated.
  • Chubby Chaser: In the prologue, Jeremy's eventual love interest, Molly, is harassed by two men with a preference for full figured women, and has historically dealt with similar advances on a regular basis.
  • Dracula: Sharpe turns out to be the fabled vampire Dracula, ambiguously also known as Vlad the Impaler, who drinks blood to extend his life, and makes human remains into artwork.
  • Redheads Are Ravishing: Despite being male, Jeremy has historically received unwanted advances from women due to having red hair.
  • Louis Cypher: Wesley Sharpe is Dracula's alias, which alludes to his ambiguous past as Vlad the Impaler.
  • Mad Artist: Jeremy eventually discovers that Sharpe makes his grotesque art from the corpses of his victims.
  • Setting Update: The reader is not supposed to realize that this is a modern stealth retelling of Dracula, with names, and some genders, changed accordingly, until halfway through the story.
