TV Globo (formerly known as Rede Globo) is a Brazilian television network founded by Roberto Marinho on April 26, 1965 and is owned by Grupo Globo under their Globo division. The network is the second-largest in the world (the first-largest being ABC) and by far the largest in Brazil. The network is known for producing cash-cow telenovelas, variety programs, entertainment programs, reality shows and journalism. The network is very famous for creating the "standard" primetime in Brazilian television: from Monday through Saturday, four telenovelas and and a newscast.
