Song Joong-ki (born 1985) is a South Korean actor. In his native Korea, he made his acting debut in A Frozen Flower and rose to fame on the Variety Show Running Man. Following his mandatory military service from 2013-2015, he achieved widespread international fame with his role as the dashing leading man of Descendants of the Sun in 2016. This international reach continued with his some of his later work (Vincenzo, Space Sweepers) being distributed by Netflix.
