Ove Sprogøe (December 21, 1919-September 14, 2004) was a prominent Danish actor. Having a career that lasted a little over five decades, he appeared in 157 films, along with a couple of roles in television series, making him one of the hardest-working actors in the history of Danish film. His roles were quite versatile, his most famous and internationally known one being perhaps the role of Clock King Egon Olsen, in the Olsen-banden film series.
Sprogøe formally retired as an actor in 1998 after appearing in the 14th and final Olsen Banden film, though he would appear a few smaller roles in the years afterwards. He would eventually pass away in September 2004 the old age of 84, three weeks after the passing of his wife, Eva.
