Matthew López (born 1977) is an American playwright and screenwriter. After breaking out with the play The Whipping Man, he became best known for his critically acclaimed play The Inheritance, which debuted in 2018.
López is of Polish/Russian and Puerto Rican descent and openly gay. He's the nephew of actress Priscilla López.
