Jane Alexander (née Quigley; born October 28, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American actress, best known for her roles in Kramer vs. Kramer and The Cider House Rules.
She was married to Robert Alexander, with whom she had one child, and subsequently to director/producer Edwin Sherin.
Alexander was also the chairperson of the National Endowment for the Arts during Bill Clinton's first term.
