Tropes
- Creepy Child: As Esther in Orphan.
- Dark Action Girl: Both in Orphan and The Hunger Games.
- Dawson Casting:
- Zigzagged in Orphan. She was 11 playing the 9-year-old Esther Coleman. Except Esther is actually a 33-year-old woman named Leena Klammer who suffers from dwarfism.
- Inverted in The Hunger Games. While Clove's age is never stated in the books, it's implied that she is one of the older tributes, making her at least 16, while Fuhrman was 14 at the time of filming.
- Played straight with the Orphan prequel First Kill, where she reprises her role as Esther/Leena at age 25, although she is quite close to Esther/Leena’s real age of 33. The filmmakers have used primarily practical makeup and camera effects to "de-age" her.
- Deleted Role: Her role was excised from the theatrical release of Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, because it utilized a different cut from the original, where she played a major role.
- Star-Making Role: She was known and praised for her role as Esther in Orphan.
- Typecasting:
- Her main star-making roles are those of villainous Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunettes.
- Double subverted with her cut role in Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, in which she assists the heroine to stop the titular Escape Room, save her boyfriend, and put her evil father to justice. Only for the ending to reveal that she is actually even viler than her father, and the heroine might have opened a can of worms by letting her take over.
