Diana Patricia Sands (August 22, 1934 – September 21, 1973) was an American actress, best known for her roles in A Raisin in the Sun,note Ensign Pulver, and Doctors Wives.
Sands was married to Lucien Happersberger, although they later divorced. She died of pancreatic cancer when she was 39. At the time of her death she was filming the seriocomic Claudine. At Sands’ own suggestion the producers replaced her with Diahann Carroll.
