"The cosiest job I ever had was in Carry On Nurse. I used to roll out of bed in my own home in the morning, into a car to take me to Pinewood, onto the film set and into another bed, and finally out of that bed and into my own bed again."

Brian Oulton, (11 February 1908 — 13 April 1992), was a British character actor.

After a period at RADA, he started acting in the late '20s, playing leading roles in repertory theatre in Liverpool. Once World War II started, he left the theatre to serve in the British Army. Come the end of the war, he returned to acting in 1946, albeit now as a character actor.

He played many pompous characters on the big screen, such as Prescott in Last Holiday, Henry Bray in Carry On Nurse, and Master Snelgrove in Young Sherlock Holmes. Aside from Nurse, he appeared in three more Carry On films and one of the Carry On Christmas TV specials.

On the small screen, he never had any long-term roles. Still, he had many small roles, including Dr. Plevitt in Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Dr. Griffin in four episodes of Doctor at Large, and Neil's dad in The Young Ones.

He married actress Peggy Thorpe-Bates in 1936 and the two were together until she died in 1989.

He died at the age of 84.
