The Land That Time Forgot is a 2016 comic series by American Mythology Publishing, which is touted as an official sequel to the original The Land That Time Forgot novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

In 2016, Abigail Tyler—the great-great-great-granddaughter of Bowen Tyler—leads an expedition in search of Caprona, the legendary dinosaur and caveman-infested lost island discovered in 1916, along with Ethan Bradley, a fellow descendant of the original Caprona discoverers as well as a native woman taken from the island when they escaped. Abigail believes that Caprona has avoided rediscovery since because it sank beneath the surface of the sea, similarly to Atlantis.

When they arrive, however, they discover the truth: Caprona exists in a time warp, at once a part of the Earth and outside of it altogether, and the expedition uses two mini-subs to reach the interior of the island through the same underwater passage discovered a century beforehand. Bu amidst the wilderness, they encounter Bowen Tyler, his crewmates, and his German adversaries, still fighting their pointless squabbles whilst trying to escape Caprona. Thanks to the time warp, beings from multiple times can meet in Caprona, although they will all return to their original time-zone when they escape... if they escape. Thanks to the intervention of the Germans, Abigail's expedition becomes stranded as well.

In 2019, a tie-in series called See-Ta the Savage began publication, expanding on the background of the titular character.

These comics include examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: The Weiroo are presented here as being actively worshipped by the other Human Sub Species of Caprona, which was not the case in the books.
  • A God Am I: The Weiroo have set themselves up as deities, and thoroughly believe their own hype. Rather than raiding the Galu tribe and stealing its women, they force the tribes to offer up women as Human Sacrifices to them; this is seen as a "great honor" for the victims.
  • Rape as Backstory: Overlapping with Attempted Rape. See-Ta is an outcast from all the tribes of Caprona because when she was offered to the Weiroo, she fought back, maiming her assailant and escaping his clutches. They now reject her as somebody cursed, and won't even try to kill her because they fear divine wrath.
