The Closet is a 3-issue Horror Comic Book by James Tynion IV and Gavin Fullerton, and was made for Image Comics' 30-year anniversary.

The comic follows Thom, a man who's moving his family from New York City to Portland. Like any big change, it comes with its share of stresses, such as frequent arguments with his wife, Maggie. Thom also has a young son named Jamie, who is convinced that there's a monster hiding in his closet out to get him. Thom does his best to assure Jamie that, since they're moving, he'll have a new closet in his new home, one with no monster in it, and he'll never have to worry about it ever again... but can Thom keep that promise?

The comic was released on June 1st, 2022.

The Closet contains examples of:

  • Ankle Drag: The monster does this to Jamie at the end of issue #2, dragging him back into the closet.
  • Creepily Long Arms: The monster has very thin arms that are so long that its hands reach its knees.
  • Tempting Fate: Issue #1 ends with Thom assuring Jamie that, when they leave to move the next day, he'll never have to see that closet ever again. The closet appears on the ceiling in Issue #2 above Jamie's head.
  • Things That Go "Bump" in the Night: The monster in Jamie's closet is some pitch black Humanoid Abomination with long thin limbs that barely looks taller than Jamie himself.
  • To Be Continued: Issue #2 ends on one as Jamie is being dragged away by the monster.
