I Walk With Monsters is a 2020 horror comic book by Paul Cornell and Sally Cantirino, published by Vault Comics. It is about the cycle of abuse and anger.

Years ago, Jacey's brother was taken away by the Important Man. Now, she roams around the country with David, a man who sometimes transforms into a terrifying monster, and, together, they hunt down and kill bad men, men who pray on the vulnerable.

But now the Important Man has returned, more powerful than ever. And Jacey and David have to stop him, no matter what it takes.

Tropes in I Walk With Monsters:

  • The Atoner: David used to be a selfish, petty person who cyberstalked women and cheated on his girlfriends and then blamed them. Now he's trying to use being a monster to make for it — by killing bad people.
  • Corrupt Politician: The Important Man is a Republican running for President. The book often shows the news media's coverage of him.
  • Emotionless Girl: Jacey seems emotionless, but it's because of the abuse and trauma of her past. After she kills her father, she has to remember how to cry.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: David occasionally changes into a giant black wolf. He is determined to use this ability to make up for his past behavior.
  • Self-Made Orphan: Jacey poisoned her own father, because he let the Important Man take away her brother.
  • Suicide Mission: Since the Important Man is running for President, he obviously has a lot more security than Jacey and David's usual targets, but Jacey is still determined to take him out. Both David and Jacey realize, then, that this mission might be their last.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Jacey feels the need to kill people, to let loose her monsters. But she makes sure that they are bad people.
