* BigBadWannabe: Despite being set up as a threat, it's kind of hilarious how ineffective she is as both a Queen and a villain. She ends up in trouble with the IRS who are after her for decades of unpaid taxes. She has Eric and Pam sell V on her behalf and throws them under the bus when the Magister investigates, only for that to backfire on her spectacularly. Russell Edgington comes to take her kingdom, and [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere half her guards defect because they are unwilling to die for her.]] She's later forced by Russell into a marriage to cover her depts, and loses control over Louisiana as a result. Hadley ends up turning on her to save her life, and Eric later allows Hadley to escape. And to cap it all off, the one person she thought she could trust, [[spoiler: Bill Compton]], ends up betraying her and reveals they've been working as a double agent for the Authority. Oh, and the Authority finds out about her draining vampires and selling V (which is a HUGE crime in vampire society), and [[spoiler: they sentence her to the True Death, which is something that Bill is more than happy to carry out.]] Basically, for someone who's suppose to be intelligent, she easily gets outmaneuvered and outclassed by Russell, Eric, and [[spoiler: Bill]].

Hadley ends up turning on her Sophie Anne to save her own life, and Eric later allows Hadley to escape. And to cap it all off, the one person she thought she could trust, [[spoiler: Bill Compton]], ends up betraying her and reveals they've been working as a double agent for the Authority. Oh, and To add insult to injury, the Authority finds out about her draining vampires and selling V (which is a HUGE crime in vampire society), and [[spoiler: they sentence her to the True Death, which is something that Bill is more than happy to carry out.]] Basically, for someone who's suppose to be intelligent, she easily gets outmaneuvered and outclassed by Russell, Eric, and [[spoiler: Bill]].

* LackOfEmpathy: Sophie Anne only cares about herself and doesn't give a damn about others. She's callously dismissive of Godric's death to Eric's face ("Sorry about your maker. That blows."), she views her human prostitues as both a smorgasbord and playthings for her entertainment, she doesn't give a second thought about throwing her employees under the bus to save her own ass, and she's lets Eric drain Hadley rather than divulge her secrets to save Hadley's life.

* {{Narcissist}}: Oh Lord! She has an inflated ego and sense of superiority largely stemming from her being the queen of Louisiana (which she loves reminding people about). She has a hard time accepting criticism from anyone, and gets angry with Eric when he tries to offer advice [[spoiler: about how they should proceed selling V.]] She is extremely [[ItsAllAboutMe self-absorbed]] and more interested in her extravagant lifestyle than actually ruling the kingdom effectively. She has a stunning LackOfEmpathy for others, from the people in her employment [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness whom she will throw under the bus if it's convenient for her,]] to her human prostitutes whom she views as pets at best and disposable commodities at worst. Even her relationship with Hadley is one-sided as [[spoiler: she has no issue with Eric draining Hadley as long as she can keep her own secrets.]] And to top it all off, she honestly believes she's above the rules set down by the Magister and the Authority. [[spoiler: This ends up coming back to bite her in the ass when the Authority orders her death for selling V.]]

* BitchInSheepsClothing: She pretends to be pleasant and charming on the surface, but underneath that is a scheming ManipulativeBitch who takes what she wants and doesn't care who she has to throw under the bus in the process. She also has vampires drained to pay off her IRS taxes while pretending to be appalled about it when the Magister visits her kingdom to inquire about the rise in V dealings.

* TokeGoodTeammate: Dieter is NOT a nice person, but out of all the people on Roman's council, he is the only one genuinely believes in mainstreaming and stands in opposition to the Sanguinistas.

* AdaptationalHeroism: In the books, Godric was actually named Godfrey, and was a pedophile/child-rapist who turned himself over to the Fellowship of the Sun because he couldn't stop his behavior. In the show, he's more of a Nelson Mendela figure who genuinely wants peace between vampires and humans and hands himself over to the Fellowship partly to atone for his past actions, and in a vain attempt to prevent other vampires from being taken by them. He is also NOT a child-rapist/pedophile, nor does the show ever hint he's one.
