- Adaptational Villainy: Is the evil waterbending mentor for Katara in this AU (switching places with Hama).
- Pet the Dog: After one of his students ends a vicious sparring match with Katara by knocking her Eye-Obscuring Hat off (which sends her into a panic attack because of her agoraphobia), Pakku steps in and places his cloak over Katara's face, which calms the poor girl down, and admonishes the student for his actions.
