A short and socially awkward girl born and raised on a farm. Although she's not much to look at when compared to some of the other female contestants, Beth is very friendly but also naive and spineless - which can make her an easy target for the more unscrupulous competitors.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: To Harold and Justin in ''Action''.
* {{Acrofatic}}: This sort of applies, but she had enough clumsy moments that Chris played a montage of them in the ''Action'' finale.
* AllLovingHeroine: Except for [[AlphaBitch Heather and Courtney]], Beth is friends with almost everyone else on the show, despite her social awkwardness and clumsiness.
* ArcHero: Of ''Action'' alongside Lindsay, she gets manipulated by both Justin and Courtney throughout the season but catches on much more quickly [[CharacterDevelopment due to her experiences with Heather]] and ends up causing a lot of opposition for both of them. Culminating in her getting Courtney eliminated just before the finale.
* AttentionWhore: She has a habit of doing various odd things for attention, and while she excels at getting others to stop and stare, it is more often than not for embarrassing reasons.
* BackstabbingTheAlphaBitch: She was the first one of Heather's alliance "partners" to tell her off and shot her with a paintball gun. She later pulls one on Courtney as well.
* BadassAdorable: In "Million Dollar Babies" and the third aftermath of ''World Tour''.
* BarelyChangedDubName: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to "Berthe".
* BerserkButton: During ''Action'', as shown in "Masters of Disasters" and "Million Dollar Babies", Beth does not take kindly to people claiming that she made her boyfriend Brady up.
* BespectacledCutie: Wears NerdGlasses and she's definitely a sweetheart for the most part, as well as being socially awkward and gullible.
* BetterWithNonHumanCompany: She understands farm animals a lot better than people.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Beth is usually not quick to anger; however, she told off Heather and Courtney. She also exposed Leshawna's WoundedGazelleGambit when she said Beth's boyfriend didn't exist.
* BlindWithoutThem: In one episode she loses her glasses causing her to fail the challenge. We are given a brief view of her vision and it is indeed pretty blurry.
* BracesOfOrthodonticOverkill: Beth wears a brace-aid when she sleeps, which looks nothing short of a metal cage around her head. Even when her braces get taken out after ''Island'', she still wears it for a time during ''Action''.
* BrutalHonesty: Beth can be pretty out in the open with the truth, most prominently shown in "Aftermath: Bridgette Over Troubled Water", where she proceeds to well-intentionally remind Geoff of Bridgette and how she made out with Alejandro, when Geoff was trying hard to avoid the topic.
* CargoShip: In-universe with the pole Bridgette got stuck to.
* CharacterFocus: She receives a good bit of development during ''Action''; however, she goes OutOfFocus in ''World Tour''.
* ChekhovsSkill: In "Not Quite Famous" she reveals her talent for baton twirling. Much later in "Million Dollar Babies" this (partially) helps her to defeat Heather in a game of badminton during a challenge.
* TheCutie: A short, mousy BespectacledCutie with a sweet, awkward and naive personality who is eager to make friends and have everyone like her.
* ADayInTheLimelight: "Paintball Deer Hunter" focuses on her [[GrewASpine finally standing up to Heather]].
* DemotedToExtra: By ''World Tour'' where she only appears in the Aftermath episodes in minor roles. Her last appearance to date was a non-speaking cameo in the first episode of ''Revenge of the Island''.
* TheDogBitesBack: In "Paintball Deer Hunter", she shoots Heather in the thigh after breaking off their alliance, and in "If You Can't Take the Heat...", Beth helps Leshawna lock Heather in the walk-in freezer.
* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: Beth wore BracesOfOrthodonticOverkill during her ''Island'' run as a competitor before she had them taken off from ''Action'' onwards.
* EndearinglyDorky: Undoubtly her biggest saving grace. She might not be as ''physically'' attractive as most of the other girls, but her heart is definitely in the right place and almost everyone is friends with her
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Barn animals that is as being raised in a barn gets her along well with many of the animals. Her favorite one is her pet pig, she calls Big Bertha. She even claims to have signed up for Total Drama Island so she can find a boy who likes barn animals as much as her.
* {{Geek}}: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. While she physically looks like a nerd and has poor social skills, she doesn't act much more like a nerd other than a remark saying [[HomeworkSlave she did the homework of other students]].
* GrewASpine: In "Paintball Deer Hunter", Beth stands up for herself, refusing to do Heather's bidding any longer.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: She and Lindsay become good friends during their time in Heather's alliance in ''Island''. They maintain their friendship after breaking free from her and become very close during ''Action''.
* HiddenDepths: Her ''Island'' biography mentions that she excels in Art. She received the Art Achievement of the Year Award for her full-scale replica of the Sphinx, made out of glue, elbow macaroni, and felt. This makes it into one challenge in "Beach Blanket Bogus", where she instructs her team to stabilize their sand castle with papier-mâché.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Because of her naïvety and desire for friendships, Beth can be overly trusting of the series' villains. After being under the heels of Heather in ''Island'' and Justin in the first half of ''Action'', Beth becomes a better judge of character when dealing with Courtney in the latter half of ''Action''.
%%* HugeGuyTinyGirl: The tiny girl to Duncan, the other finalist in Season 2's huge guy.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Has a great desire to be liked by everyone. This however makes her naïve to antagonists who will offer to take advantage of this to manipulate her.
* JerkassBall: Beth is often presented as a sweet, innocent and EndearinglyDorky girl but in ''Total Drama Action'', she has had moments of being brash, selfish and even self-righteous which is exemplified in the final episode when she ate all of the cookies that was delivered for all of the girls to share because she believes that it's really hard work being nice so she's the only one who deserves the cookies.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: In "Up The Creek", she is on the can when Chris explains the curse of Boney Island and nobody bothers to fill her in afterwards. This bites the Screaming Gophers in the proverbial rectum when she takes a tiki doll off the island, and the Gophers lose that challenge and the next two in a row before finding out and booting Beth off the team.
* {{Malaproper}}: There's this line in "[[Recap/TotalDramaAlienResurreggtion Alien Resurr-eggtion]]":
-->'''Beth''': ''(in confessional with Lindsay)'' Even though Heather can be really mean, that doesn't mean we should be mean back, right? Buddha says: "You can lead a sheep to water, but you can't make it nice."\\
'''[[TheDitz Lindsay]]''': That is sooo deep!
* MartialPacifist: Beth only resorts to violence when her limits are pushed too far, specifically with Heather in "Paintball Deer Hunter".
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: To [[AlphaBitch Heather]]; however, Beth was too nice and too naive to be evil. Beth was the first to break away from Heather's alliance.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: In a confessional, Beth questions her alliance with Heather, admitting that she doesn't even like Heather. After Heather's mistreatment of her and Lindsay during "Paintball Deer Hunter", Beth stands up for herself and breaks off the alliance.
* NerdsAreNaive: Beth is a StereotypicalNerd with her NerdGlasses, BracesOfOrthodonticOverkill, shorter and rounder physique, and very high ponytail. She has NoSocialSkills and [[IJustWantToHaveFriends wants to make friends]], which makes her naive and easily fooled, something the other competitors have no problem taking advantage of.
* NiceGirl: While a bit quirky, immature and socially awkward, Beth is always there to help her friends.
* NiceMeanAndInBetween:
** In ''Island'', she is the in-between to Lindsay's nice and Heather's mean. She can have a few JerkAss moments here and there but is still a NiceGirl overall.
** For each generation's contestant who grew up on a farm, she is the in-between to Rodney's nice and Scott's mean.
* OlderThanSheLooks: She is the same age as all of the first generation contestants, despite the huge height difference.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: In "Million Dollar Babies" where she kicks a tree clean in half.
* PubescentBraces: For the duration of ''Island'', Beth wears braces that are part of her nerdy and "awkward teen years" look. During the two days between ''Island'' and ''Action'', Beth takes the opportunity to get her braces replaced with a retainer. The change boosts her confidence to the point of incidental arrogance, not in the least because she also got a hot new boyfriend out of her visit to the dentist.
* RageBreakingPoint: Beth's patience with Heather's bossiness finally runs out in "Paintball Deer Hunter", with Beth breaking off their alliance by repeatedly shooting Heather with her paintball gun.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Although not as epic as Lindsay's, Beth tells off Heather in "Paintball Deer Hunter", telling her that the reason that the Gophers keep losing challenges is because of her bossiness and apathy towards the game.
* SecretlySelfish: When given a chance she eats a gift basket of cookies meant for all the girls by herself and justifies it by saying she deserves it more for being so nice.
* ShoutOut: She has a pink bathing suit that looks like a [[Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration 24th century Starfleet uniform]].
* TheSmartGirl: On the Killer Grips.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Downplayed when compared to the others, but Beth gets focused on a good bit during ''Island'' due to her alliance and subsequent feud with Heather, and Beth is a finalist in ''Action''.
* StalkerWithACrush: She follows the boys she likes at her school around like a lost puppy and make them poster-sized homemade valentines with pictures of unicorns running down the beach.
* TookALevelInBadass: In ''Island'', Beth was more of a follower to [[AlphaBitch Heather]], and after breaking away from her, it didn't take her long to be voted out due to bringing back the cursed skull. In ''Action'', she displays far more social awareness, which ultimately results in her managing to eliminate three strong competitors in [=LeShawna=], Justin, and Courtney. Not only that, she manages to become way more dominant in challenges, managing to hold her own against Heather on two separate occasions, and hold her own against Duncan in the finals to the extent the winner had to be decided by a tie.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Zig-zagged in ''Action''. While she does still have moments of being a NiceGirl, she's noticeably much more brash, selfish and even self-righteous as evidenced by her eating the cookies that were meant for the other girls.
* UncattyResemblance: In "Top Dog", as part of that episode's challenge, she befriends a RascallyRaccoon named Mr. Whiskers that has distinctive markings around its eyes similar to her glasses.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: She didn't know you weren't supposed to remove the idols from Boney Island, but it [[MaybeMagicMaybeMundane may have been]] what caused the longest losing streak the Screaming Gophers suffered.
* VocalEvolution: Her voice in ''Action'' is about an octave higher and more enthusiastic than in ''Island'', making her sound more like a GenkiGirl than a {{Geek}}.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Beth's stated phobia is being covered in bugs, so she must immerse herself in a vat of earthworms, which [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext the writers apparently believed were close enough]]. [[FridgeBrilliance Of course if she, unlike the writers, knew the difference it would explain why she was able to do the task.]]

A goth girl with an interest in art. While her blunt and moody attitude makes her seem cold and harsh, Gwen isn't anti-social; she's just cautious about who she lets into her social circle. But those who get to know her will find that she is a smart, kind, level-headed, and independent woman.
----
* ActionGirl: She's not above getting physical, having kicked a serial killer in the face.
* AesopAmnesia: In the second ''Action'' aftermath, she says she's learned to be "straight up" so nothing can "bite her in the butt" again. By ''World Tour'', she apparently forgot about that.
* AllForNothing: She enters ''All-Stars'' to make up with Courtney to the point where she breaks up with Duncan, only for Courtney to betray her, ruining their renewed friendship, meaning all she did to make up with Courtney was for nothing.
* AmbiguouslyBi: She has dated and made out with Trent and Duncan during her time on the show. However, in the fifth season, she was more interested in getting Courtney's forgiveness for taking her boyfriend, Duncan, away from her and she does eventually get her forgiveness. There was also tons of LesYay between her and Courtney in ''World Tour'' and ''All-Stars''.
* AmicableExes: Played straight with Trent, but {{averted|Trope}} with Duncan.
** Things were rather awkward between her and Trent, with her breaking up with him because of a mix of his jealousy of her friendship with Duncan and learning he was throwing the game so she could win. Trent was heartbroken to learn that Gwen asked his team to vote him off and was too heartbroken from their breakup to defend her when the other contestants give her a hard time over their breakup. However, when Geoff wants to throw Gwen in a dunk tank full of piranhas, he puts his foot down and tells Geoff that that is enough, he was the one who threw the game, not Gwen, and it was not her fault. Gwen thanks Trent and apologizes to him, with him telling her that they're cool. After that they seem to move on from their break up and become good friends, as the two are seen hanging together or joking with each other during ''World Tour'''s Aftermaths several times.
** Originally, Gwen had a strong friendship with Duncan that formed into a relationship. However, by the time of All-Stars they're shown to lack chemistry and affection at the start of the season. Eventually, they break up because of a mix of Gwen's attempts to make up with Courtney combined with Duncan's attempts to get Courtney's attention. It's telling that Duncan's more confused than heartbroken regarding the breakup. While she does not bitterly hate Duncan the same way Courtney does, it is clear that the love, friendship, and respect Gwen had for Duncan is gone. Duncan leaves the competition on bad terms with Gwen, as she sarcastically mocks him while he is being escorted away by the police after blowing up Chris' cottage, showing no concern for Duncan's imprisonment.
* AntiHero: If not for her anti-social attitude and awkwardness, Gwen would be an IdealHero.
* ArchEnemy: She hates Heather more than anyone else on the show, and the feeling is very much mutual, although their hatred of each other dies down slightly after ''Island,'' enough to have the occasional EnemyMine.
-->'''Gwen:''' Putting up with the revolting food, giant bugs, and cameras in your face all day is one thing, but Heather? Only a hundred thousand dollars could make me live with her.
* ArcHero: In ''Island'' she was Heathers biggest rival alongside Leshawna and is ultimately the one responsible for her downfall. In later seasons her interactions with the BigBad are usually minimal.
* TheAtoner: She only enters ''All-Stars'' so that she can try and fix her relationship with Courtney. Unfortunately, her attempts at being nice only result in Courtney getting humiliated and/or physically injured, making ''her'' even angrier and making Gwen feel even guiltier. She finally manages to win back Courtney's trust in "Suckers Punched", only to discover that Courtney planned to eliminate her despite their rekindled friendship. The arc ends with their original roles being [[HourglassPlot swapped]], leaving Gwen angry and hurt while Courtney becomes the atoner.
* BadassAdorable: Is a very cute and pretty girl who can take down anyone who messes with her.
* BadassUnintentional: When she panicked and kicked a psycho killer in the face in "Hook, Line, and Screamer".
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: Downplayed as like Lindsey her normal outfit only exposes the bottom of her stomach. Played straight with her swimsuit.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She may be a harsh and snappish goth, but she really has a [[HiddenHeartOfGold golden heart inside of her]] and is defenitely one of the kindest characters of the first generation cast. But if one dares to act insensitive or toy with her, she will make your life miserable.
* BettyAndVeronica: The Betty to Courtney's Veronica and Duncan's Archie.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She bonds with Duncan because they're both antisocial horror fans. This builds up to a romance in Season 3.
* BrosBeforeHoes: A female version of this trope. In ''All-Stars'', Gwen for the most part subsides her relationship with Duncan in order to patch things up with Courtney. She eventually dumps Duncan and reconciles with Courtney, telling her that she's done putting relationships over friendships.
* BuriedAlive: In "Phobia Factor," she reveals her greatest fear is being buried alive, and is thus buried in a glass box beneath the sand for her challenge.
%% * CantGetAwayWithNuthin: In ''Action'' and ''World Tour.''
* CaptainErsatz: Someone on the official blog noticed that her outfit and hair matched Tibby Rollins' from ''Literature/TheSisterhoodOfTheTravelingPants'' in several places.
* CharacterDevelopment: Starts off as cold and anti-social, but after dating Trent she [[DefrostingIceQueen becomes much more open and a team player]]. By the time ''All-Stars'' comes around, she is one of the nicest, most honest characters.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: After Season 1, her interest in art is never mentioned again outside of [[AllThereInTheManual online character bios.]]
* {{Claustrophobia}}: She's quite afraid of enclosed spaces. Her greatest fear is being buried alive (which happens to her twice), and in "The Chefshank Redemption," she exaggerates her fear while crawling through a tight escape route to fake a panic attack and throw the challenge.
* CoolBigSis: Implied to be very close with her younger brother, the TDI biography states she grew up taking care of her brother. She is also one to Cody (who she views as an AnnoyingYoungerSibling), and later to Cameron.
* CracksInTheIcyFacade: Gwen is introduced as an aloof, antisocial goth girl who ignores the other campers, but when Trent arrives, we see her turn away and smile for the first time. This is the first sign of the DefrostingIceQueen plot she undergoes via her summer romance with Trent.
* CuttingOffTheBranches: [[spoiler: In season 2 episode 7 of 2023, Owen returns as a guest judge where Priya and Chris mention he is a former Total Drama champion. Priya in particular mentions he is the FIRST EVER WINNER OF TDI. This means Gwen is now also the canon runner-up of Season 1.]]
%% * DamselInDistress: In "Jamaica Me Sweat". Again during her season 4 cameo, "The Treasure Island of Dr. [=McLean=]".
* DarkIsNotEvil: She's a snarky, cynical girl who dresses in black, green, and dark blue, and is not afraid to point out when the other contestants are acting stupid. But as the episodes go on, it becomes apparent that she's one of the nicest characters on the show--she just takes a while to [[SugarAndIcePersonality warm up, that's all.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Gwen is often sarcastic and cynical toward those of the contestants she can't stand, especially in the first season.
* DeadSparks: {{Implied|Trope}}. Although Duncan's relationship with Gwen did not deteriorate like it did with Courtney, they're shown to lack chemistry and affection at the start of ''All-Stars''. With them being moved to different teams, Gwen's attempts to make up with Courtney combined with Duncan's attempts to get Courtney's attention eventually causes Gwen to break up with Duncan. It's telling that Duncan's more confused than heartbroken regarding the breakup.
* DeathGlare: In the first season, she was sometimes prone to giving these. She scared Lindsay with a particularly intense look in "Not Quite Famous" to get her to let her into the cabin. Whenever she gave similar glares in the following seasons, it was usually justified.
* DecoyProtagonist: In ''Action.'' Having just been a finalist in ''Island'', Gwen is heavily focused on, with a major arc being her relationship issues with Trent... until she ends up the fifth contestant eliminated.
* DefrostingIceQueen: During ''Island,'' she initially acts cold and aloof toward the other contestants but warms up to them as time goes on after meeting Trent (who she warmed up to the most).
* {{Determinator}}: She has won more challenges than any other contestant in the series. Her victories in "The Big Sleep" and "Basic Straining" are testaments to her exceptional willpower.
* DeterminedDefeatist: Mainly in ''Island''. Despite starting off as cynical and competing in a show she didn't really want to be in, she does her best to win the challenges and even becomes one of the finalists.
* DisappearedDad: According to her online bio, her mother is now single. WordOfGod states that her dad divorced her mom sometime before she joined the show.
* TheDogBitesBack: Gwen is a frequent target of Heather's bullying; however, Gwen just as frequently gets back at Heather, such as dumping Harold's red ant farm over Heather's bed in "Not Quite Famous" after Heather reads Gwen's diary out loud on international TV.
* DontLookAtMe: In the first season, a minor running gag is Gwen shoving a camera out of her face whenever it's aimed at her. Apparently she's not the only one who does it; a photo of her equally goth friend Reaper shows him doing the same.
* DubNameChange: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to "Joëlle."
* DudeMagnet: Gwen has more guys find her attractive than any other girl on the show. She had two relationships in the series: with Trent and, after, with Duncan. Harold and Owen have both mentioned that they think she's attractive, and Cody constantly tries to hit on her but fails.
* DyingDeclarationOfHate: After her Flush of Shame alongside Scott, they both end up in Niagara Falls. As she and Scott go down the waterfall, she yells "I HATE YOU, CHRIS!". Luckily, she survives though.
* EasilyForgiven: Only by Duncan in ''Action''. He wouldn't vote her off and was impressed that she sabotaged her team instead of being angry with her. Averted by Courtney when she cheats with Duncan in ''World Tour''. Trent, however, forgave her in both cases by the time they next saw each other.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Half-lampshaded by Alejandro in ''All-Stars,'' when he tells her that "[she] is as wise as [her] skin is translucent".
* EnemyMine: Gwen and Courtney's mutual dislike for Heather make them bond in the first half of ''World Tour''. Ironically, in most seasons, Gwen and Heather end in this very same situation more than once, and they actually make a very good team when putting their differences aside at least temporarily.
%% * EtTuBrute: Does not take Courtney's betrayal well in "Sundae Muddy Sundae".
* EyeScream: In "Picnic at Hanging Dork" her eucalyptus allergy causes her eyes to redden and swell to a nightmarish size.
%%* FatAndSkinny: The skinny to Owen, the other finalist in Season 1.
* FightingYourFriend: Gwen is rigged to box with Courtney in "Suckers Punched" just as their friendship seems to be repaired. This actually proves cathartic for both of them as their punches let out all the anger they've had for each other and ultimately strengthen their friendship.
* FinalGirl: Parodied in both "Hook, Line and Screamer" and "Zeek and Ye Shall Find", due to her being a horror movie expert.
* {{Foil}}: To Owen. While both ended up as finalists of ''Island'', they have otherwise completely opposite personalities. Owen is the BigFun party guy, NiceGuy, and AllLovingHero who magnetically attracts friends to him. Gwen is a MisunderstoodLonerWithAHeartOfGold and falls into GoodIsNotNice and has a bitter rivalry with Heather. While Owen ain't the brightest bulb and not very fit, Gwen is one of the more intelligent contestants and a JackOfAllTrades when it comes to her physical performance.
* TheFriendsWhoNeverHang: Retroactively, she barely said a word to Courtney before "World Tour" and was pretty dismissive of her when she came up in conversation, but after bonding with her for one episode her kissing Duncan was treated as if she'd betrayed one of her closest friends.
* GenreSavvy: She happens to be pretty savvy about movie genres, especially horror movies.
* GirlsLikeMusicians: When Gwen was falling for Trent, one of her main reasons for liking him was that she just couldn't resist boys who played guitar, which he was known for. The opening even has him playing his guitar for her near a campfire, the two of them are just about to kiss before Cody interrupts.
* GuileHero: She is one of the more strategic heroes, and has shown to be quite manipulative to people like Heather.
* GoodIsNotNice: Most prominently in early season one episodes. It is subverted when she falls in love with Trent and falls victim to Heather's cruel diary-reading act towards her.
* {{Goth}}: [[CharacterizationMarchesOn Develops into a]] PerkyGoth later in the series.
* GothsHaveItHard: Gwen really hasn't had it easy. Besides competing on a SadistShow for five seasons, she's been bullied repeatedly by Heather, had to break up with Trent, gotten the entirety of the blame for said breakup and forced to vote herself off, gotten involved in a LoveTriangle with Duncan and Courtney that cost her the latter's friendship, then tried to make up for it and regain Courtney's trust and seemingly succeeded, only to find out that the other girl was planning to betray her all along.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Becomes this with Courtney in ''All-Stars'' until "Sundae Muddy Sundae", where she learns of Courtney's intention to betray her. In earlier seasons, she seems to have this with Leshawna and Bridgette.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Twice in ''All-Stars''.
** OK, Gwen. Sure Duncan is a jerkass and unfaithful, but you've known him for five seasons. So when Duncan warns you about [[spoiler: Mike being evil]], you choose to trust someone you barely even know just because he is a "nice guy" over him? [[spoiler:No wonder Mal easily preys on you later in the season]].
** Trying to make amends with Courtney is one thing Gwen, but do you actually think that she will keep her promise of going to the finale together? Even Duncan and Beth know she never keeps her promises as long as the money is involved.
* IconicItem: Her diary in ''Island''.
* IgnoredExpert: During "Hook, Line, and Screamer", '''nobody''' listens to her advice on surviving a horror film, despite her [[GenreSavvy expertise in the area]].
* InSeriesNickname:
** Heather always calls her "Weird Goth Girl".
** "New Heather" by several contestants in ''World Tour'', she's also frequently called "Gothy" or "Gothball".
* IntoxicationEnsues: In "The Am-AH-Zon Race," she accidentally stabs herself with Cody's [=EpiPen=]. She's extremely hyper for a good chunk of the episode, but she crashes shortly before the challenge ends.
* {{Irony}}: In All-Stars, when Gwen was put on the villains' team, she protested, stating she was nice. In confessional she bitterly states that she spent seasons being a nice girl, only to be in the villain team. While Gwen was never as bad as her new teammates, she was not exactly nice, being at best a cold and anti-social JerkWithAHeartOfGold. It was only in this season that she turns into a completely nice girl.
* JerkassBall:
** In "If You Can't Take the Heat...", she finds it amusing (along with the other girls) seeing Harold when he wakes up naked the next morning thanks to Duncan, Geoff and DJ. This is more jarring in her case, given that she should know what it feels to be bullied given all the crap Heather put her through during the season and how Harold helped her to get back at Heather.
** Given that she'd already [[DefrostingIceQueen become a nicer person]] over the course of ''Island'', her TheReasonYouSuckSpeech towards most of the other campers in "The Very Last Episode, Really!" seems rather odd and OutOfCharacter, especially when she goes as far as to call Trent "two-timing" despite realizing he didn't cheat on her when he got eliminated. Only DJ, Owen, Cody, Leshawna and Bridgette got away without an insult.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Early on ''Island''. This also applied in regards to her family. To quote her Island bio, "Gwen may seem tough as nails on the outside, but when it comes to her family, she's as soft as... well, a marshmallow!"
* KaleidoscopeHair: She has alternating shades of light teal, black, and dark teal, though it's confirmed to be a [[DyeHard dye job]].
* KeepingTheEnemyClose: In "Riot on Set", when Gwen was recruiting her team, Leshawna tells her to "Keep your enemies close", which results in Gwen picking Heather for her team, albeit reluctantly.
* LastOfHerKind: The last contestant from the first generation remaining in All-Stars.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: Dark to Bridgette, Leshawna, and Zoey's Light.
* LonerTurnedFriend: She kept to herself early in the series, but ends up becoming close friends with many of the contestants, most notably Leshawna, Bridgette, Courtney, Trent, and Cody.
* LoonyFriendsImproveYourPersonality: In the form of Geoff, who she states "brings the party out in you".
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The gutsy and fierce masculine girl to Trent's sensitive and artistic feminine boy.
* MeaningfulName: "Gwen" means "white" or "pale", and she's a goth girl with noticeably paler skin than most other characters.
* MoralityPet: Duncan's. In all three seasons, he's nicer to her than he's ever been to anyone else (including Courtney).
* MoralMyopia: Easily overlooked, but during ''Island'', Gwen is constantly bullied by Heather, who tells secrets of her diary to the world, exposes her panties on live television, and even tricks her into believing that her boyfriend cheated on her. However, she doesn't have any problem with mocking Harold when he is the victim of some pranks pulled by Duncan, Geoff, and DJ.
* MsFanservice: Briefly becomes a ReluctantFanserviceGirl after Heather rips off Gwen's skirt during the rock climbing challenge in "Who Can You Trust?".
* NiceGirl: She becomes much more friendly after her de-frosting in ''Island''.
* NiceMeanAndInbetween:
** Of the three ''Island'' finalists, Owen is nice, Heather is mean, and Gwen is in-between.
** In terms of the love triangle mess in season 3, she is the nice to Courtney's mean and Duncan's in-between.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: In "The Am-AH-Zon Race".
* NightmareFetishist: When it comes to horror movies.
* NonconformistDyedHair: She is an artsy misanthropic goth with black and teal-streaked hair. Supplemental material reveals she goes to the same salon as Duncan to dye it.
* NotHelpingYourCase: For a while, every attempt Gwen makes at patching things up between her and Courtney only makes Courtney hate her even more.
* NotSoAboveItAll: When Gwen first appears, she is depicted as unsocial and indifferent; Gwen is later shown to care about how others perceive her deeply. During Gwen's break up with Trent in season 2, she went on about how she was a good person and cared for her teammates when she was cold and anti-social to them in the previous season. While Gwen did not hate or bully her teammates, she would insult them and only befriend 5 of them, viewing everyone else as insane. And during the time Gwen was dating Duncan, she became obsessed with makeup with Courtney for kissing Duncan behind her back, but at the same time denied that Courtney was dating Duncan at the time. Also, during the All-Star season, when Gwen was put on the villain team, she protested, stating she had done so many good things, and that she had three seasons of kindness.
* OfCorsetsSexy: She wears a corset-like black top with blue and green sleeves.
* OddFriendship:
** Strikes one up with Geoff, in "Trial By Tri-armed Triathlon". While the two are different as night and day, they come to a mutual understanding of each other, with Geoff even managing to help Gwen open up, where he helps amend her view that "partying isn't in your DNA" and more like a "state of mind". The two-part on good terms and Geoff vows to invite Gwen to her first party once the season was over.
** She's surprisingly good friends with Owen, the fun-loving, 296-pound {{Keet}}. Notably, their friendship is one of the few relationships that remain consistent across the first three seasons. In the finale of ''Island,'' she lists him as one of the few people she considers sane. During ''Action,'' he's the only one on the Killer Grips who isn't mad at her because Trent threw the challenges for her sake. During ''World Tour,'' she tries to make him feel better about Izzy breaking up with him, and later, he supports her new relationship with Duncan.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Her reputation is defined solely as "boyfriend stealer" in ''All-Stars''.
%%* OnlySaneWoman: She [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] this herself in ''Island''. See OutOfCharacterMoment below.
* OutOfCharacterMoment:
** In the last episode of the first season, when she insults approximately three-quarters of the entire cast, saying that only five of them were sane (which included some of the cast's most obviously flawed members).
** On the [[https://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/9300000/You-Have-Won-The-Best-Game-Ever-D-total-drama-island-9383731-500-336.jpg winning screen]] for the ''Action'' game "Best. Game. Ever", she's wearing a huge, goofy, delighted grin that makes her look a little like Izzy.
** Gets another one in "You Regatta Be Kidding Me!", in which, after becoming best friends with Courtney, she talks about the dream she had in which she rode on a fluffy unicorn across clouds made of marshmallows. Didn't expect her to say ''that'', did you?
* OutOfFocus: Gets this in ''Action''
* PerkyGoth: She initially starts off as a loner, but she softens up over the course of the series.
* PerpetualFrowner: She used to be in a near-perpetual state of frowning before she cheered up.
* PlotAllergy: Gwen loses the tie-breaker challenge as to whom will be eliminated between Courtney and her in "[[Recap/TotalDramaPicnicAtHangingDork Picnic at Hanging Dork]]" because it involves eucalyptus leaves, which she's allergic to. She leaves the plane wheezing and with a swollen face.
* RedOniBlueOni:
** In ''Island'' she is the blue to Bridgette and Leshawna's red.
** In ''All-Stars'' she's also the blue to Zoey's red, especially through their physical color contrast [[ColourCodedForYourConvenience green and red]].
* RelationshipUpgrade: She starts dating Duncan in ''World Tour''. She breaks up with him in "Moon Madness" when she realizes he still has feelings for Courtney.
* TheRunnerUpTakesItAll: She alludes to this when she loses an elimination tiebreaker to Courtney in "Picnic at Hanging Dork".
* SayMyName: When she wakes up to find out she's been buried alive with Sam in "The Treasure Island of Dr. [=McLean=]", her first reaction is to pound on the walls of the box and yell, "CHRIIIIIIIIIIIS!!"
* SecondLove: She falls in love with Duncan after falling in love with Trent, and likewise, he falls in love with her after falling in love with Courtney. [[spoiler:It doesn't last; they break up after Gwen learns that Duncan still has feelings for Courtney]].
* SeriesMascot: Not quite as much as Owen, but Gwen is one of the show's most recognizable characters and shows up on a lot of promotional material, possibly because of her unique character design.
* ShaggyDogStory: The whole reason why she returned for ''All-Stars'' was so that she could reconcile with Courtney after what happened between them in ''World Tour'', which she does by "Suckers Punched". Unfortunately, "Sundae Muddy Sundae" reveals that Courtney planned on eventually stabbing Gwen in the back by eliminating her before the finale and going back on a promise they made to take each other to the finale, resulting in Gwen now being the one to break up their friendship, therefore making her entire plot that took up about half the season and the events involving her during it (such as breaking up with Duncan) completely pointless. It also comes as no surprise that she herself [[spoiler:gets eliminated in the very next episode since she has no reason to still be in the game]].
* ShipperOnDeck: In "Anything Yukon Do, I Can Do Better", she supports Cody/Sierra so that Cody will leave her alone. She also supports Courtney/Scott.
* ShovelStrike: She hits Harold with a [[ImprobableWeaponUser golden shovel]] in "The Chefshank Redemption".
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: The reason she developed feelings for Trent the first time they actually interacted.
* SixthRanger: To Mike, Cameron, and Zoey's PowerTrio.
* SlowNo: In "The Big Sleep" when Trent falls asleep, leaving her to finish the challenge alone, and in "The EX-Files" when Courtney trips her to make her drop the alien artifact and lose the challenge for their team.
* SlutShaming: Falls victim to this. The reason she's on the ''Vultures'' team is...cheating. Cheating which she didn't initiate, and which no one [[OnceDoneNeverForgotten will let her forget.]] When you consider what everyone else on the ''Vultures'' team did to get there...
* TheSnarkKnight: She's probably the most sarcastic female in the series.
* SoapboxSadie: Tries to be this, and comically fails due to the sheer idiocy of Katie and Sadie in the Celebrity Manhunt special.
* SoleSurvivor: She becomes the last original contestant remaining in ''All-Stars''.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: She is the most focused-on character in season one and the first few episodes of season two continue to focus on her relationship with Trent. She then becomes notorious as a spotlight stealer when she and Courtney get involved in a LoveTriangle with Duncan in ''World Tour''. Also, her [[spoiler:ultimately failed]] attempt in reconciling with Courtney is a significant plot point in ''All-Stars''.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: She comes off as being very cold and distant, but she has a much nicer side once you get to know her.
* TenderTomboyishnessFoulFemininity:
** Snarky goth girl Gwen is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold while her rival Heather is an AlphaBitch obsessed with makeup and popularity.
** Applies with Courtney, who is a high-strung preppie with a bad case of ChronicBackstabbingDisorder.
* TokenGoodTeammate: While Gwen has made a few mistakes in the past, she's still not outright evil like everyone else on the Villainous Vultures. The shot of her in the Villainous Vultures used to be the image for the page.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: With Bridgette (and later Courtney).
* TomboyishVoice: As detailed above, she has a raspy voice.
* TookALevelInKindness: She starts out as a stereotypical Goth girl in her debut but started to come out of her shell after developing a relationship with Trent in the third episode. Her flowering into a kind person was finalized after Heather read Gwen's diary on international television.
* TraumaCongaLine: Throughout the entire series she is constantly betrayed and emotionally (and physically in Chris' case) battered by others. It's only her persistent will to constantly improve herself that stops her from going insane.
* {{Tsundere}}: For much of the first season, Gwen's attitude toward Trent had a twofold quality due to the DependingOnTheWriter treatment of their budding relationship.
* TheUnreveal: She and Owen are the only characters whose audition tapes have never been seen.
* VocalEvolution: Her voice is higher in season three than in season one, possibly to show her DefrostingIceQueen status.
* WantingIsBetterThanHaving: She spends so much of World Tour pining for Duncan but very little of their time together ends up being pleasant for her.
* WhatHaveIBecome: What she feels for doing harm to Courtney in the first half of ''All-Stars''.
* WhenSheSmiles: Admit it, you just want to cuddle her every time her mouth turns upwards!
* WoundedGazelleGambit: Uses this on Cody in "Picnic at Hanging Dork" to help her get rid of Courtney.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: It vaguely {{implied|Trope}} that Bridgette and Geoff's friendships with Gwen broke apart during ''Action'''s Aftermaths as a result of Gwen's breakup with Trent.
** During ''Island'', Bridgette and Gwen were close friends, but Bridgette turned against Gwen during ''Action'', blaming her for breaking up with Trent. While Bridgette does not outright end their friendship, she makes it clear through her words and actions that she disapproves of how Gwen broke up with Trent and she was not on her side. Bridgette even told her that Lindsay and Beth are ticked at her because they found out that Trent threw their team's challenges for her. And while Bridgette disapproves of Geoff's treatment of Gwen and tries to protect her from his torture, the two girls are never seen making up or interacting again for the rest of the series (although this is partly due to Bridgette falling OutOfFocus as an early elimination on ''World Tour'' while Gwen continued to receive focus as part of a LoveTriangle with Duncan and Courtney).
** Geoff and Gwen became friends during ''Island'', but after he TookALevelInJerkass during the Aftermath segments in ''Action'', their friendship deteriorates. While he does not outright end his friendship with Gwen, Geoff guilt trips her over her breakup with Trent, nearly drops an anvil on her, and tries to throw her in a dunk tank full of piranhas. When Gwen points out that they are friends, he responds that his new gig "trumps" the times that he and Gwen made s'mores. He also tells her that she did not leave many friends behind in the game. They never made up and do not interact for the rest of the series (although this is partly due to Geoff falling heavily OutOfFocus and not competing at all in ''World Tour'').
* XMustNotWin: She made it her mission to make sure Heather loses in ''Island'', so much so that she promised Owen a share in the cash prize or a box of doughnuts if he helps her. In the end, [[WeWinBecauseYouDidnt she succeeds]].

The mean AlphaBitch who rules high school in every teen movie, Heather is as ruthless, narcissistic, manipulative, and self-centered as they come. She always knows what she wants and how to get it, with little regard for who she has to hurt or deceive to achieve her goals.

----
* AbusiveParents: Implied. Her parents are thrilled to get her out of the house in her video from home, not just throwing a party, but even selling all her personal belongings (though with Heather being a total HateSink in the original ''Island'', the audience was likely meant to side with them). Heather also claims in ''Action'' that her parents sent her to electroshock therapy as a child to make her nicer. [[DependingOnTheWriter However]], it's implied Heather sees her mom as her best friend in "One Flu Over the Cuckoos."
* ActionGirl: She's not afraid to get her hands dirty (literally or metaphorically) in order to win a challenge.
* AffectionateNickname: Her dad calls her "Heather-Feather" in her video message from home.
* AllTakeAndNoGive: Heather's alliances are solely for her benefit. She demands practically everything from Beth and Lindsay while they get ''nothing'' in return from Heather, [[UngratefulBitch not even gratitude]].
* AlphaBitch: The series' most definitive example, bullying Lindsay and Beth into doing her bidding during their alliance, and constantly trash-talking Leshawna and Gwen. However, she clashes with Courtney for the position during ''World Tour'', and in ''All-Stars'' she clashes with Jo early on for leadership of the Villainous Vultures.
* AnalogyBackfire:
-->'''Heather:''' A team without a leader is like a horse without a head! It just runs around blind!
-->'''Gwen:''' I'm pretty sure a horse without a head doesn't run ''anywhere''.
* AnimalsHateHer: Not to the extent of DJ during ''World Tour'', but she has moments that show this. Most notably during the special after the original ''Island'', when she gets her head stuck in a beaver dam and the beaver takes the opportunity to spank her butt for several minutes.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Heather's bio mentions that she has a younger brother named Damien who's not just annoying, but evil (at least to Heather). Despite Heather being an AlphaBitch who uses deception to get anything she wants, her home is stated to be the only place [[EvilerThanThou she's out-ranked in]] due to his tormenting pranks (such as booby-trapping her room and putting glue in her hair conditioner).
* ArchEnemy:
** To Gwen and Leshawna since the start.
** She stated she was this to Alejandro (in a WorthyOpponent kind of way) in "Awwwwww, Drumheller", in order to get him [[ItMakesSenseInContext to help her out when she was wedged up in a hole]]. [[EveryoneCanSeeIt Yet it was obvious to everyone watching what their relationship really was]].
* ArcHero: In ''World Tour'' she's an AntiHero at best and a NominalHero at worst, but for better or for worse, she ends up being the protagonist who opposes Alejandro throughout the season. By the time of the finale, Cody [[RousingSpeech spells it out for her]], that between the two she's definitely [[ALighterShadeOfBlack the lesser of two evils]] and since she's the only one left who can take him down, that makes her TheHero.
* ArtEvolution: Regarding Heather's baldness: when her head ends up shaved near the end of the original ''Island'', it's shown to be flat. Come ''Action'', the top of her head has been tweaked to appear round instead, presumably to appear more realistic.
* AsianRudeness: According to the creators, Heather is Asian (though she could be half-Asian, since her dad looks pretty white). Also, there is a reason she is called the "Queen of Mean."
* AssholeVictim: Very few people, if anyone, feel sorry for Heather whenever she falls victim to LaserGuidedKarma, given her snobbish attitude. This is particularly prominent in "Slap Slap Revolution" when Leshawna slaps Heather silly, in which the other campers were cheering Leshawna on and in "Hawaiian Punch", where the peanut gallery laughs at Heather as she's being pelted with golf balls.
* AttentionWhore: As the series' resident queen bee, Heather naturally puts herself as the center of attention.
* BadBoss: Her treatment of Lindsay and Beth in the original ''Island'' was almost criminal. In fact, she's this almost every time she takes charge of her team. In the episode "If You Can't Take The Heat...", she declares herself the Screaming Gophers' head chef for the cooking challenge, making Leshawna chop pineapples (which she's allergic to) and wasting time ordering Owen to get her makeup bag from the cabin. Leshawna gets tired of it and locks her in the freezer.
* BaldOfEvil: {{Inverted|Trope}}. While she was BigBad, she had long black hair. When Heather suffers her TraumaticHaircut in the penultimate episode of the original ''Island'', she ceases to be a major antagonist. While she's bald during ''Action'', she becomes nicer.
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: Heather's outfit consists of a maroon crop top halter top as [[MsFanservice fanservice]]. Leshawna calls her out for it in "3:10 to Crazytown."
* TheBaroness: Though she tries to maintain her status throughout the series, it's most prominent during the first season.
* BeautyIsBad: Pretty much all the male contestants acknowledge that Heather's definitely very attractive, but most of them generally keep their distance because they know what her personality is like.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Alejandro.
* BigBad: Of the first season, and the most iconic one to date.
** While there are several villains in the series that have surpassed her in evilness and ruthlessness (Chris, Alejandro, Mal, Scarlett), Heather is still the most recognizable one of the entire series.
** Even after her initial run ended, she would remain in subsequent seasons as the ExBigBad, with other contestants still treading with caution near her and all to wary of how much of a threat she is.
** When she made her cameo in the ''Total Drama: Revenge of the Island'' episode "Up, Up and Away in My Pitiful Balloon," the new generation is stunned and somewhat scared to see her, with Zoey even asking her if she really is ''the'' Heather.
* BigBadDuumvirate: Her on-off teaming up with Alejandro in ''World Tour'' and ''All-Stars''.
* BigNo: Almost every time she's been eliminated:
** In "I Triple Dog Dare You", when the electric razor she kicked out of Chef's hand lands on her head, leading to her TraumaticHaircut and subsequent elimination.
** In Alejandro's ending of "Hawaiian Punch'' after she's informed she threw Alejandro's sacrifice into the volcano, resulting in his victory instead of hers.
** She gets one in ''All Stars'' after she learns that Alejandro betrayed her to eliminate her.
* BrattyTeenageDaughter: Judging from how her parents celebrate her being gone, it can be safe to assume that she's (most likely) this.
* BreakTheHaughty: Basically the entire first season is this for Heather, and she becomes a lot less abrasive as a result.
* BrilliantButLazy: Played straight in the first season, where she was a great strategist, but mostly made others do the dirty work for her. Averted in later seasons like World Tour where she was [[CharacterDevelopment more willing to win challenges herself]] and almost reached ActionGirl levels. Compare her in Island (where she refused to jump off of a cliff because "her hair would get wet"), and World Tour and All-Stars (where she did that very thing with no issues once in both seasons).
--> '''Heather:''' The guys think they're so stealthy, building their own little alliances. It's kind of cute, really. But why work on your own bike when you can get someone else to do it for you?
* TheBully: Even when her antagonistic nature isn't competition-driven, she's usually talking trash about the others either behind their backs or to their faces and being unapologetically bitchy in general.
* CantGetAwayWithNuthin: LaserGuidedKarma often hits her hard, especially in the original ''Island''. More often than not, Leshawna and Gwen have a hand in it.
* CantTakeCriticism: Many times when she is called out for her flaws and misdeeds, she throws a fit. This is a case of DependingOnTheWriter, however; other times, she revels in her bad reputation to the point where she's not bothered by the others' harsh words about her in the slightest.
-->'''Heather:''' [=LeShawna=] just told it like it is. I don't see what the big deal is. I do it all the time!\\
'''Lindsay:''' She called you mean and nasty.\\
'''Heather:''' ICanLiveWithThat.
* CardCarryingVillain: "Queen Bee" is the nice way of saying AlphaBitch.
-->'''Heather:''' Obviously, I'll be on the villains' team, and I'll be running it by lunch.
* CharacterDevelopment: While she's still mean and manipulative, compare how evil she was in the original ''Island'' to how she is in ''World Tour'' and there's quite a difference. In the original ''Island'', Heather is constantly and often pointlessly cruel to her teammates, manipulates them into doing her dirty work, and disposes of them when they've stopped being useful; by ''World Tour'', while she still mostly looks out for number one, she's willing to cooperate with her team in order to win, her nastiness has been toned down (but not entirely eliminated--because, after all, she ''is'' Heather), and she even does a few kind things for others with no ulterior motive.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In early episodes, Heather would take almost every opportunity to mess with her teammates even if it risked making her team lose, like reading Gwen's diary out loud to the whole world during a talent contest or making Leshawna chop pineapples (which she's allergic to) during a cooking competition. This habit seems to have disappeared by the middle of the original ''Island,'' as she became more focused on winning. She even gets mad at Courtney in ''World Tour'' for trying to lose the Area 51 challenge on purpose so they could vote out Gwen. She doesn't even like Gwen, but it seems she draws the line at bringing the whole team down for the purpose of single-minded revenge.
* CharacterRerailment: She reverted back to her season 1 self in season 4-onwards.
* TheChessmaster: Twist, manipulate, deceive, and mislead the competition is how she operates.
* ChronicBackStabbingDisorder: In her pursuit for the million dollars, Heather has betrayed almost everyone she ever formed an alliance with. It is because of this, practically no one after the first season is willing to team up with her.
* ClingyJealousGirl: She does not want Courtney (or any other girl for that matter) to have Alejandro.
-->''(after Alejandro helps Courtney in the wedding dress challenge)''\\
'''Heather:''' I don't know what kind of weddings Alejandro has been to, but each groom gets one bride. One!
* CruelCheerleader: According to her bio, she was a cheerleader at her high school (the ''head'' cheerleader at that).
* CruelToBeKind: As unbelievable as it sounds, she dispenses this advice in "Chinese Fake-Out". When Cody doesn't want to get married to Sierra but she won't take no for an answer, Heather tells him to be honest with her and say flat-out that they will "never, ever be a thing".
* DamnedByFaintPraise: In "Aftermath Aftermayhem", as part of a challenge, Beth has to make up a haiku about Heather, but it has to be positive. She comes up with, "Heather has ten toes...um, webbed feet for faster swimming...she's fast in water!"
* DeadpanSnarker: She has a dry wit, perfect for snapping at other contestants.
--> '''Harold''': I'll have you know this is a selfless act! My lady fans couldn't handle the loss of this perfect behind!\\
'''Heather''': And by "lady fans", he means his ''mother''.
* DeathGlare: Her default expression since she is easily disgusted or aggravated by virtually everyone and everything on the show. Alejandro is even attracted to it, referring to it as her eyes "shooting daggers."
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype:
** Heather deconstructs the AlphaBitch, showing exactly how popular a cruel, vindictive, {{manipulative|bitch}} shrew of a girl would be--not popular at all. Her FreudianExcuse (being bullied for having been the ugly girl) has long since passed, leaving her with nothing but the joy of causing social humiliation just for the sake of causing social humiliation, which is petty enough to give her only short-term advantages. The cast is only fooled by her innocent act when the plot needs them to be, and after the original ''Island'', none of them like or trust her. This extends to her life outside the show, where her parents are seen throwing a party because they don't have to put up with her for the summer, and she ends up dateless and alone during her high school dance because no one wants her.
** In "World Tour" she becomes one for the LovableAlphaBitch, since although she [[TookALevelInKindness was a little bit nicer]] that season, made a few friends, and made a genuine attempt to warn everyone about Alejandro. Ultimately everyone still saw her as the scheming, two-faced {{Jerkass}} she was in season one, and the fact that she still carried herself with a pompous attitude and [[PragmaticHero resorted to dirty tricks]] meant [[TheCassandra her warnings against Alejandro were ignored]] and even when she ended up being TheHero, although everyone was happy to see Alejandro fall, no one defended her when Chris screwed her out of the prize money. Fittingly the next time we saw her [[TookALevelInJerkass she'd reverted back to her old self]].
* DefeatByModesty: Accidentally does it to herself when her halter top comes off. However, the distraction provided by this actually [[SubvertedTrope helps her team win the challenge]] and directly causes Harold's elimination.
* DemotedToDragon: Invoked by Chris when he brings her and Alejandro back as Mal's helpers in the finale for All Stars. Of course, like all of Mal's alliances, this only lasted a couple of seconds. She was also Alejandro's DragonWithAnAgenda for an equally brief time in World Tour.
* {{Determinator}}: In "Hawaiian Punch," she gets fired up by a determination to be the "good guy" for once and not lose to Alejandro, racing up the volcano to catch up to him even with his sizable lead.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: She hates barbecue potato chips. In "Paintball Deer Hunter," when making Beth gets her a bag of chips from the dining hall, she specifies, "...and not barbecue!"
* DubNameChange: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to "Marilou".
* EarlyPersonalitySigns: Zig-zagged. As per her biographies, she's been cunning and manipulative since childhood, forcing her parents to buy up her Girl Guide cookies and motivating her class to sell chocolate bars to get the class president (herself) a new bike. She also mentions in a TDA aftermath that her parents gave her electroshock therapy to be nicer, implying she's been rude since childhood. However, her vain persona only developed as a teenager, as she was FormerlyFat and unattractive in middle school.
* EnemyMine:
** With Gwen against Owen and Duncan's team in the original ''Island'', even high-fiving when they win.
** With Leshawna right before getting voted off in ''Action''. Before that, Leshawna convinced Gwen to have Heather on their team both to keep an eye on her and knowing Heather's smarts would actually make her a good ally.
** With Gwen, again, in the 'Celebrity Manhunt' special, cooperating to delay Alejandro's car, and also against Courtney in the second half of ''World Tour'', partly because Courtney kept throwing challenges and partly out of jealousy because of Alejandro flirting with her.
** Temporarily with Courtney against Gwen once it was revealed that Gwen kissed Duncan behind Courtney's back until the aforementioned instances led her to switch sides.
** With Alejandro in "African Lying Safari" as part of their BigBadDuumvirate, which also stems from their BelligerentSexualTension.
** And yet, again, with Gwen in ''All Stars''; Heather actively looks for an alliance with her, since she's the only non-villainous Vulture and therefore the one she can truly trust with making any kind of deal with.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: She doesn't trust Owen because she finds his cheerfulness creepy and unnatural.
* EvilCounterpart: Heather is one to Gwen in unmitigated spades. Both of them start off as loners and quickly develop an antagonistic relationship with Chris. Both are beautiful females who attract plenty of interest from the opposite sex. However, Heather is a representation of everything that Gwen is absolutely not, especially in the original ''Island''. Gwen is a loner by voluntary choice and generally minds her own choices. Heather, by contrast, winds up a loner because of her abuse of her allies. Gwen, despite having a cynical and snarky side, genuinely cares for her friends, and won't hesitate to risk losing the challenge to help them. Heather puts on a nice façade, but the friendship she offers is false and backstabs them once they are no longer needed. Gwen is shown to accomplish most of her victories on her own merit, while Heather relies on her allies, and all of her individual wins are through sheer luck. Gwen is adamant on winning the competition fairly, even against friends. Heather will not hesitate to cheat to win. Gwen is shown in both her online biographies and the video message from her family to have a good relationship with her family, while Heather has a dysfunctional one. Gwen's relationships with Trent and Duncan were healthy, and they failed because of odd actions on Trent and Duncan's side. Heather's relationship with Alejandro swings from one pendulum to the next. In other words, Heather represents everything that Gwen appears to be, but is not.
* EvenBadWomenLoveTheirMamas: In ''Action'', in the Medical Drama-based challenge, it's shown that Heather considers her mother as her best friend; in fact, when she thinks she's going to die along with the other contestants, she writes her last will and testament, leaving everything to her mom.
* EvenEvilHasStandards:
** Despite of her ruthlessness, she does, in rare moments, display some concern for the other contestants' well-being whenever they were injured or in near-death situations, such as Trent's skydiving mishap or Owen's broken jaw. Apparently, she wouldn't go so far as to want them to die.
** In ''I See London'', she was legitimately concerned for Alejandro's safety after he was kidnapped and suggested looking for him despite being on opposite teams.
** Alejandro's plan to eliminate Duncan in "African Lying Safari" leaves her stunned.
--> '''Heather:''' ''(confessional)'' Even I'm not ''that'' ruthless!
** She, along with Cody and Alejandro, is genuinely concerned when Sierra gets caught in the plane explosion.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: It became gradually obvious that she and Alejandro were falling for each other over the course of ''World Tour''. To the point that during Blaineley's rant after her elimination in "Chinese Fake-Out," she told them to "give it up and make out already." Whenever anyone stated it outright, Heather always denied it.
--> '''Heather''': Why does everybody keep saying that?
* EvilIsBigger: Easily the tallest female member of the original cast, retaining this until the introduction of Sierra.
* EvilIsHammy: She's [[CardCarryingVillain quite open about being evil]].
-->'''Noah:''' ''(about Chris's new reality show)'' A bunch of nasty jerks live in a huge mansion and get all bored and backstabby.
-->'''Heather:''' I'm nasty! That should be ''me''!
* EvilIsPetty: She frequently takes opportunities to get under her teammates' skin, such as making Leshawna slice pineapple chunks despite her allergy to them or tearing off Gwen's skirt during a rope-climbing trust exercise. However, she is capable of restraining herself when it comes to challenges that require teamwork--see PragmaticVillainy below.
* ExBigBad: Heather is the most prominent example in the series. Being the original BigBad of ''Total Drama'', after the conclusion of her first season, she remains around for most of the series. All the other contestants are all too wary of her shady past, but she never quite ascends to the status of main threat ever again. In ''World Tour'' she actually becomes the VillainProtagonist for the first half of the season before going through a HazyFeelTurn and ends up as the AntiHero up against the new BigBad Alejandro.
* {{Expy}}:
** Of [[Film/MeanGirls Regina George]]. Also a "Queen Bee" who serves as a manipulative BigBad that ruins the lives of others.
** And, of course, of the ''{{Film/Heathers}}'', who she's likely named after. Particularly Heather Chandler, as she's the Queen Bee and by far the most cruel.
* FatalFlaw: In the first season, recklessness. Heather repeatedly commits actions throughout the original ''Island'' that not only manage to alienate everybody on her team, and ultimately, the entire cast, but are extremely shortsighted and bring her no long-term benefit, while only giving her short-term advantages. One excellent example of this is reading Gwen's diary, as it managed to make her an eternal enemy in Gwen, didn't get her team any points, (and it's implied that had Heather actually performed ballet, it would have been enough to seal a Gopher victory), and nearly got her voted off. The only reason she makes it so far, especially after the merge, is either someone else is removed, or she gets invincibility. Unsurprisingly, her shortsighted decision-making finally gets her eliminated in the final three.
* FemalesAreMoreInnocent: Somewhat during ''World Tour'', where she's that season's protagonist, in which her main rival is Alejandro, who's instead that same season's primary antagonist (especially at the moment when they became its finalists). In addition to that, Al's overall malevolent presence during ''World Tour'' itself makes Heather look more like a saint in comparison to him (which is one of the reasons why her winning moment during her own ending as a finalist is ''WAY'' more satisfactory than his).
* FemmeFatalons: In the New York episode of ''World Tour'', where she slices open the prize apple with her nails.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Courtney. Both are arrogant, domineering girls who will resort to any means to win the competition and leaders of their teams in Season 1. The difference is that Heather [[CardCarryingVillain revels in her villainy]] and prefers to manipulate others into doing her bidding, while Courtney sees herself as a hero and wins most of the challenges on her own merits (skill and strength). Heather also starts the series as a villain but gradually softens up and becomes an AntiHero after her [[BreakTheHaughty defeat]] in the original ''Island'', while Courtney [[HourglassPlot starts off heroic, but jumps down the slippery slope into self-serving villainy]].
** To Lindsay. Both are takes on the "rich, popular, pretty girl" archetype; however, Heather, as the series main AlphaBitch, embodies PopularIsEvil, gaining popularity through fear and coercion, while Lindsay is the ClassPrincess who is genuinely liked by most of her peers [[DumbIsGood despite her stupidity]].
* FormerlyFat: She was apparently overweight when she was younger, which caused her to get bullied a lot. Part of her FreudianExcuse.
* FreudianExcuse: Hinted at in the first special by Harold, who theorizes that at least part of the reason for Heather's bad attitude is that she either has family issues at home (such as her parents being divorced--which is later disproven since Heather's parents appear to still be married) or that she was [[FormerlyFat fat and unpopular when she was younger]]--WordOfGod confirms that Heather was in fact fat and unpopular up until she started high school; that could also explain her fear of sumo wrestlers. Also, it's pretty much confirmed that she does have family issues (with her parents and younger brother, at least).
* GambitRoulette: A lot of her schemes require an insane amount of luck to work:
** In ''Not Quite Famous'', after reading Gwen's diary in front of everyone, she convinces Lindsay, Beth, Izzy and Owen to vote off Justin. The problem is, at this point, she's on a team with ten campers so Heather had to assume everyone else wouldn't unanimously vote for her, otherwise there could have been a tie-breaker or even a double elimination.
** In ''Search and Do Not Destroy'', she kisses Trent in front of Gwen. Leshawna catching wind of this rallies the contestants to vote off either Trent or Heather, Heather wins immunity so they settle with eliminating Trent. However, Heather had no way of knowing her chest had the immunity pass in it.
* HateSink: How she was primarily portrayed as during most of the original ''Island'' (especially since she's that season's primary antagonist, complete with her AlphaBitch personality).
* HatedByAll: Due to her heinous actions throughout the original ''Island''--as pointed out by Izzy in ''Action'', none of the other contestants (except for Harold, the only one initially willing to actually give Heather a chance) actually like or trust her. And as shown in the video message she gets from home, not even ''her own family'' seems to like her that much, as her parents are shown celebrating her absence (even going so far as to have all the stuff in her room moved out while she's gone). Lampshaded in the [[spoiler:fourth]] ''World Tour'' Aftermath episode when the hosts are [[spoiler:discussing the final three contestants]]:
-->'''Bridgette:''' ♪ There's Heather, she's an ice queen / But she's been playing hard! ♪\\
'''Geoff:''' ♪ Too bad everybody hates her, she'd have to pay a bodyguard! ♪
* HazyFeelTurn: She did go through some redemption at the end of ''World Tour'', but she doesn't quite end up as being heroic either and it's quite hard to place her on the morality scale.
* HeroicResolve: In "Hawaiian Punch", [[spoiler:she's on the verge of defeat when trapped in a cage she can't escape from until Cody implies that she's "the Good Guy". At this realization, she bursts out and goes on to defeat Alejandro]].
* HiddenDepths:
** The third ''Action'' aftermath reveals that she has some degree of genuine respect for Harold. As she is shown in an exclusive clip secretly admiring Harold's Num-Yo skills, and attempting to use her own pair. Which fails miserably.
** In "Not Quite Famous" Heather is shown to be an enough talented ballet dancer to be chosen to represent her team in that episode's challenge. It's a shame she chooses to read Gwen's diary in front of everyone instead.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: She previously threatened Lindsay with a head shaving if she ever betrayed their alliance again. Incidentally, Heather betrayed Lindsay in "That's Off the Chain," and Lindsay used Heather's own threat against her as a dare in "I Triple Dog Dare You," leading to Heather's TraumaticHaircut and subsequent elimination.
* HumiliationConga: In "I Triple Dog Dare You!"...
** Gwen and Owen decided to double-team Heather with one challenge after another. Surprisingly, Heather manages to take all of them...until the final dare where she had to get her hair shaven. She attempts to reject it, only for her hair to get shaven regardless. And to really add insult to injury (at least for Heather), since she didn't technically accept the dare (as she kicked the razor out of Chef's hands to try and avoid it), she ends up being eliminated anyway.
** Even before Gwen and Owen double-teamed her, Heather's first dares involved licking Owen's armpit and sucking jelly out of Owen's belly button. She would've also had to lick Owen's toe jam but used the only freebie she earned to opt out of that dare.
%%* IcyGrayEyes: Cold and unapproachable.
* ImNotHereToMakeFriends: She is hated by almost everyone because she either manipulated, insulted, had a hand in eliminating or left a bad impression on them. She even manages to alienate the second-generation contestants in her cameo appearance in ''Revenge of the Island''. She even states in "Wawawakna Gone Wild!" that she's here to win, not to make friends.
* ImportantHaircut: Her hair getting shaved off marks the point where she is utterly defeated by Gwen and ceases to be the main antagonist.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: "Don't try to stop me! I've got gold statuettes and I am not afraid to use them!"
* InSeriesNickname: "Old Heather" by countless others, even Gwen, who was dubbed "New Heather."
* {{Irony}}: She once argued with Leshawna that at least she was popular. She ends up being the most hated contestant in the series, her own family is glad she's not home and it's strongly implied she has no friends.
%%* ItsAllAboutMe: "I'm valuable!"
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: After the original ''Total Drama Island'', her positive traits were allowed to show through on occasion.
* {{Jerkass}}: She read Gwen's diary out loud for the world just because Gwen gave her a little lip. Even ''Chris'' was [[EvenEvilHasStandards absolutely disgusted with her for it]].
* JerkassHasAPoint:
** Told Cody, Sierra and Alejandro that the Marriage of Sierra and Cody is invalid, stating as there was no wedding certificate first and foremost. Sure she's probably doing this to hurt Alejandro's favor with Sierra, but she made a point about the marriage being a sham.
** Calls Chris out on allowing Alejandro and Blaineley to cheat in the gross food challenge in "Chinese Fake-Out".
** In ''Revenge'' when returning as a guest, she steals the million dollar prize and attempts to escape, claiming it was owed to her. [[spoiler:Thing is, she isn't wrong, even in Alejandro's ending of ''World Tour'' where she lost, she only did so because of a bogus ruling because she threw the wrong idol into the volcano, even though she clearly beat Alejandro, and in neither ending is it her fault the prize money was destroyed by Zeke.]]
* KarmicButtMonkey: Most, if not all, of the misfortune Heather suffers is due to her mean-girl ways. "I Triple Dog Dare You!" in particular is the culmination of this trope, where practically everyone she abused gets payback, albeit incidentally.
* KickTheDog: She acts callously towards practically everyone, especially in the original ''Island''. In particular, she frequently mistreats her alliance lackeys Beth and Lindsay, and she has intense rivalries with Gwen and Leshawna.
* LargeHam: Her emotional outbursts are truly something to behold.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Fell victim to it quite regularly in the original ''Island''. Gwen lampshades this in a confessional.
-->'''Gwen:''' ''(in confessional, after Heather falls into a jellyfish pool)'' Sometimes, the universe just gives you a freebie. ''(looks up at the sky and gives a thumbs up)''
* LeanAndMean: She's tall and skinny, and she's also the show's main AlphaBitch.
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: When it's just her and Alejandro left in ''World Tour'', most of the contestants ended up supporting her. [[EvilerThanThou Compared to him]], Heather was the "good guy".
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: Dark to Lindsay's Light.
* LiteralMetaphor: When describing how she got Owen to vote off Justin, Heather simply says "and Owen? Piece of cake!" It's then shown that she literally bribed him with a piece of cake.
* MaleGaze: The camera focuses on her butt more often than most characters, but not quite to the same extent as Courtney.
* MaliciousMisnaming:
** She has called Lindsay "[[{{Portmanteau}} Lindsiot]]" at least twice.
** She often refers to Gwen as "Weird Goth Girl".
** She has called Izzy either "Psycho Hose Beast" or simply "Crazy Girl".
* ManipulativeBitch: She is one of the most manipulative contestants in the entire series, rivaled only by Alejandro. This is especially the case in the original ''Island'', and still holds traces of it later seasons.
-->'''Heather''': [[ThereAreTwoKindsOfPeopleInTheWorld In this world,]] there are shepherds and there are sheep, and Lindsay is a ''major'' sheep. Baaaaaah!
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The masculine girl to Alejandro's feminine boy. Heather is ruthless, rude and has no trouble attacking people in order to get what she wants. Alejandro is sweet-talking, polite, and less prone to being aggressive when manipulating people.
* TheMasochismTango: With Alejandro. She and Alejandro ''literally'' tango, on top of a train, while singing about how much they hate each other in "Planes, Trains, and Hot Air Mobiles".
-->''You are the worst, why must you torment me?''\\
''It's all a game to you, but not to me...''
* MeaningfulName: She's most likely named after ''{{Film/Heathers}},'' a film about social cliques in high school that features a trio of [[GirlPosse queen bees]] as main characters, all named Heather.
* MisplacedRetribution: During the cooking challenge, Leshawna, Lindsay and Beth play keep-away with her makeup bag and lock her in the freezer, but during the next episode, she ignores them and directs her anger at Gwen.
* MoralityPet: Alejandro's love for her is his most prominent redeeming quality. It actually helps him beat his brother José, who was more or less the cause of Alejandro's ruthless nature.
* MsFanservice: Invokes this to get on the show. She has many {{Shower Scene}}s and appearances in a ModestyTowel during the first season. Plus, her boobs were shown in "X-Treme Torture", and her butt was shown (uncensored no less) in "3:10 to Crazytown".
* NeverMyFault: In the original ''Island,'' she would sabotage other contestants with relish, but react with anger when they decided to get her back. When she swore revenge against Gwen for dumping Harold's red ant farm into her bed, Trent pointed out that Heather had read Gwen's diary out loud to the entire world the previous night; she brushed him off.
* NiceMeanAndInbetween:
** In the original ''Island'', for her alliance with Lindsay and Beth, she is the mean and to Lindsay's nice and Beth's in-between, being a stuck-up AlphaBitch. During the same season, when it comes to the three finalists she's also the mean to Owen's nice and Gwen's in-between.
** On Team Amazon she started out as mean to Gwen's nice and Courtney's in-between, then gradually switched places with Courtney.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown:
** Was on the receiving end of this twice, first from Gwen and then from Leshawna.
** Was on the giving end in ''Revenge of the Island'' against Lightning with the million-dollar briefcase, no less.
* NominalHero: Heather ultimately does end up becoming the main hero of ''World Tour''. While she did TookALevelInKindness since ''Island'' and ''Action'', she hasn't quite made a full HeelFaceTurn either and it would be a stretch to call her good. She is however still considered the hero, because Alejandro is actually [[EvilerThanThou MUCH worse than her]], and by the end she is the only one left standing against him. Heather's status as a hero is confirmed when Cody explicitly tells her "don't let the bad guy win". Following Alejandro's defeat, she has gone back to her usual villainous self, proving that she can only be considered a hero when she's the LesserOfTwoEvils.
* OddFriendship: She and Cody develop a friendship over their shared hatred of Alejandro in ''World Tour''.
* OnlySaneWoman: Sometimes acts like this when compared to some of the other contestants.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: While it's obvious that she's gotten progressively nicer over the course of the series, no one could have been prepared for her sweet, cheerful display in "Moon Madness", [[spoiler: even if it was all an act to trick Alejandro]]. She hugs an ''alligator'' at one point.
* PetTheDog: Heather may be mean as a snake, but surprisingly, she has done a few nice things even when there's nothing in it for her.
** Throughout the various seasons, the only contestant she's never really outright mean to is [[GentleGiant DJ]], even trying to calm him down when he got freaked out by her facial and joined his goodbye group hug when he was eliminated in ''Island''. This carried over into ''Action'' where they managed to work surprisingly well as part of the Screaming Gaffers, and in ''World Tour'' where she tried securing an alliance with him but didn't use her typical manipulation tactics in favor of trying to be nicer to him. The only thing stopping him from being an outright MoralityPet to her is that they're usually on different teams.
** Here's a shocker, in ''Action'', she defends Leshawna after Leshawna gets caught bad-mouthing all of the contestants, including her during her spa trip with her cousin, Leshaniqua. She later gives Leshawna her wig as a gift to remember her by after she gets voted off.
** Several times in ''World Tour''. Examples include warning Leshawna that Alejandro was up to no good, consoling a heartbroken Courtney after it was revealed Duncan and Gwen had kissed, and giving Sierra a headdress and wheelchair because she sympathized with her being bald on national TV.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: In the original ''Island'' and ''Action'', Heather makes many stereotypical comments about Leshawna being "ghetto", a "rap star" and even mocks Leshawna's afro.
* PlotArmor:
** In the original ''Island'', there are a few episodes the contestants could've easily voted her out, but didn't. This is even more noticeable in the final episodes after everyone witnessed her [[spoiler:voting off Lindsay]] and ''swore to eliminate her when they get the chance''. In addition to several episodes where Heather wins immunity, even in ones she doesn't the contestants end up voting for someone else such as Izzy and Geoff, when Heather would have been the more logical choice. Because of her pampered lifestyle and spending most of the original ''Island'' having Lindsay and Beth do her challenges for her, Heather fails every challenge after the last of her allies were eliminated since she was so used to having people help her. If it weren't for the plot's sake, she would have been eliminated an episode after Lindsay.
** In ''World Tour'', without the Love Triangle between Gwen, Duncan, and Courtney she would have been eliminated much sooner.
* PragmaticVillainy: Heather is the BigBad of the original ''Island'' and always a villain, mean and hated by nearly everyone. However, she will not screw with her teammates if doing so would hurt the team's chances of winning a challenge, and more than once has [[EvenEvilHasStandards gotten mad at others for doing just that]].
** She even goes so far as to counsel Sierra after the latter fell to Alejandro's manipulations and ended up annoying Chris.
* PyrrhicVictory: In both endings of ''World Tour'';
** In [[spoiler:her ending]] of ''World Tour'', [[spoiler:she finally wins the competition and the million dollars only for her million to get stolen from her by a feral Ezekiel seconds later. She is last seen swimming away for her life from an erupting volcano with a giant boulder about to hit her just before the camera cuts away.]]
** In [[spoiler:Alejandro's ending]] of ''World Tour'', [[spoiler:she accidentally throws Alejandro's effigy into the volcano instead of hers, making him the winner instead. She doesn't get hit by the flaming boulder at the end, however.]]
* ReformedButRejected: Ever since the first season, she became less evil, but many will never forget her actions on it since;
** In ''Action'', while Heather obviously isn't "good," she's not nearly as evil as she was in the original ''Island''--but because of her past actions, and as mentioned above, Izzy told Heather to her face that, with the exception of Harold, none of the other contestants actually like or trust her, and Gwen (her team captain) outright says that any idea being suggested by Heather is reason enough not to do it.
** In ''World Tour,'' this only gets worse: She's even less evil at this point, but the rest of the cast now seems to hate her more than ''ever''. When she is in the final three, she has literally ''zero'' cast mates rooting for her, while Alejandro, who has been more actively villainous in ''this'' season than Heather ever was, has ''five''.
* RichBitch: Heather has mentioned coming from a rich family.
* RiseOfZitboy: It's mentioned that she had bad facial acne when she was younger.
%%zce* TheRival: To Courtney, mostly in ''World Tour''.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: Heather's gorgeous and she knows it. She actually uses that fact to get on to the show in her audition tape.
* ShipperWithAnAgenda: Of Gwen/Duncan and Cody/Sierra, to ruffle feathers -- she doesn't actually give a damn about anyone's love life.
* ShowerScene: Several during the original ''Island'' with SexySilhouette.
* SickeninglySweethearts: With Alejandro when they finally get together in the ''All-Stars'' finale.
* SkewedPriorities: Earlier episodes of ''Island'' has her screwing over her teammates by either being unhelpful or focusing to humiliate them during a challenge. For example, she refuses to jump off a cliff in the first episode due to concern for her hair, and reads Gwen's diary out loud in a talent contest.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Played with. Heather's easily one of the most arrogant and stuck-up contestants, but most of the time, she has the skills and intelligence to back up her claims. However, there are times when Heather ultimately overestimates her abilities (while underestimating her opponents) and it's shown that she's not as good as she claims to be, and she relies on others to do her dirty work.
* SmugSnake: While smart and manipulative, Heather's very arrogant and tends to get overconfident, and in "I Triple Dog Dare You," her massive ego, along with her vanity, proved to be her ultimate downfall; that's actually what Gwen was banking on during the aforementioned episode.
* SocialDarwinist: In "The Sucky Outdoors", when the Gophers are cornered by an angry bear and Izzy is missing, Lindsay worries that it's already eaten her. Heather just says that if it did, then it shouldn't be hungry anymore. Gwen and Trent look aghast, and she says, "What? This is survival of the fittest!"
* SpoiledBrat: She's a self-absorbed, bossy, and entitled narcissist from a rich background, which enhances her large ego and a tendency to demean others close to her.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: She is one of the most focused-on contestants in the ''entire'' series and is by far the most focused-on antagonist.
* StarterVillain: The shows very first BigBad who constantly proves herself to be ALighterShadeOfBlack to [[SerialEscalation all the later villain's]].
* StrippingSnag: Heather, riding a makeshift jet-ski, loses her top when a passing tree branch slips under it and tears it off.
* StalkerWithoutACrush: For Courtney in ''Action.'' She REALLY wants her hair.
* StatuesqueStunner: Prior to Sierra and Blaineley's introductions, she was the tallest female among the first-generation cast.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Her mother looks almost identical to her, but with shorter hair.
* StupidEvil: During ''Island'', Heather will take any opportunity to humiliate her rivals or benefit herself, even if it risks making her team lose. However, this habit was largely dropped in subsequent seasons.
** In "Not Quite Famous," to punish Gwen for being snarky toward her, she steals the other girl's diary and reads it out loud in front of the entire camp during the talent contest instead of the ballet performance she planned.
** In "Paintball Deer Hunter," the campers are divided into hunters and deer. Heather (a deer) forces Beth (a hunter) to waste time getting food for her, even though the team needs Beth to hunt down the other team's deer in order to win.
* SurroundedByIdiots: Considering both of her [[MinionWithAnFInEvil minions have an "F" in evil]]. Lampshaded in "If You Can't Take the Heat...".
--> '''Heather:''' Ugh! It's like I'm on a team of morons!
* TakeOverTheWorld: As the page quote says, she claims when she wins TDI that she wants to have a spinoff series called ''The World According to Heather''. It's also stated in her TDI biography that she signed up for the show as practice for her long-term goal of ruling Europe.
* TautologicalTemplar: Her justification for why she believes she can treat people however she wants and never face any consequences is that she's "popular", and as long as she's popular it doesn't matter that she's HatedByAll.
* TemptingFate:
** She's relieved in "I Triple Dog Dare You" when the bottle lands on Lindsay's picture, claiming that she will finally get a break since she believes Lindsay is too stupid to come up with anything bad. However, when Chris reveals Lindsay's dare, "Have your head shaved by Chef", it would lead to her TraumaticHaircut and subsequent elimination.
** She promises in the confessional that she won't be the one to go home after someone has stolen her immunity idol. Alejandro turns out to be the one who took it and uses it to eliminate her.
* ThereAreTwoKindsOfPeopleInTheWorld: Shepherds and sheep, according to Heather in "Hide and Be Sneaky". She sees herself as the former and Lindsay as the latter.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: As much as she would love to eliminate people she hates, she loves winning more, and if you are caught throwing her team's challenges on purpose, she will make it her business to eliminate you, as seen with Gwen in Action and Courtney in World Tour.
* TokenEvilTeammate: During the first three seasons she often cheated or manipulated events to help her team get ahead.
* TokenMinority: [[WordOfGod According to Todd Kaufmann]], Heather is Asian (though she's technically only half-Asian, since her dad is shown to be Caucasian), and was the only Asian character in the main series until [[Characters/TotalDramaFrogsOfDeath MK's introduction]] over a decade later.
* TomboyishPonytail: Has worn her hair in a low ponytail on some occasions, and becomes her default hairstyle after her hair grows back.
* TookALevelInBadass: In the original ''Total Drama Island'', Heather doesn't bother helping out in challenges and always has Beth and Lindsay doing the work for her. Without their help, she faces many difficulties in participating in any of her challenges. In subsequent seasons, she is willing to get her hands dirty and even manages to reach the finale of ''Total Drama World Tour'' on her own.
* TookALevelInJerkass: After World Tour, she reverted back to her original self, as shown when she tried to steal the million dollars in ''Revenge of the Island'' and reveled in being considered a villain in All-Stars.
* TookALevelInKindness:
** Gradually over the course of the series. While not exactly "kind" as she still retains her intense competitiveness and obsession with winning, Heather has actually become progressively nicer over the course of the series (or, at the very least, less mean) plus is far less evil and manipulative than she was in the original ''Island''. This is especially in the third season when compared to her rival/love interest Alejandro.
--->'''Alejandro''': ...compared to me, Heather's a saint!
** In "Moon Madness", she becomes happy and sweet while under the influence of the Blue Harvest Moon until it's revealed in the confessional that she was faking it.
* TrashTalk: She's quite skilled at this, especially when it comes to Gwen and Leshawna.
--> '''Heather''': Back off ghetto glamour, too tight pants wearing, rap star wannabe!\\

* UnexplainedRecovery:
** In the finale of ''World Tour'', Heather is last seen about to be hit by a massive flaming boulder as she and the other contestants swim away from the Hawaiian island whose volcano has erupted, but the screen turns to static before she is hit. However, her appearance in the premiere of ''Revenge of the Island'' confirms she survived.
** In her guest appearance in ''Revenge of the Island'', Heather tries to escape aboard Chris' blimp with that season's prize money to make up for her loss at the end of ''World Tour'', so Chris sends all the remaining contestants to recover the prize. At the end, the blimp crashes into the sea and Heather apparently remains inside the aircraft. However, her return in ''All-Stars'' confirms she survived the crash.
* UngratefulBitch: She doesn't show even the slightest bit of gratitude towards Beth or Lindsay. This is what eventually leads Beth to [[MistreatmentInducedBetrayal betray]] Heather in "Paintball Deer Hunter".
* UnholyMatrimony: Eventually develops this with Alejandro.
* VillainousGoldTooth: Heather's design for ''World Tour" includes a gold tooth, which is a lot more visible when she opens her mouth. The "villainous" part gets dropped after she develops into an AntiHero, and the gold tooth disappears when she returns in ''All-Stars''.
* VillainProtagonist: During the first half of ''World Tour'', before becoming an AntiHero after she's left as the only one standing against [[EvilerThanThou Alejandro]].
* VillainousBreakdown: She loses her temper when she gets eliminated in the original ''Island''. She's heard by the eliminated contestants all the way from Play De Losers.
* VitriolicBestBuds: As much as she's likely to feud with Harold and Duncan, she is often willing to team up with both of them in Action and she even teams up with Gwen (her worst enemy besides Leshawna) and Courtney in World Tour.
* VocalEvolution: As the series progresses, her voice gradually loses the snobbish tones it had in season one.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: She is afraid of sumo wrestlers.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: With Alejandro. In the ''All-Stars'' finale, they finally get together, though they still maintain their competitive natures.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: In "Search and Do Not Destroy", to break up Gwen and Trent, she tells Trent that Gwen was being mean to her and she shouldn't be trusted in an attempt to gain his sympathy. To seal the deal, Heather kisses Trent in front of Gwen to make it appear that he is cheating on her.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Heather and Leshawna were bitter enemies in the original ''Total Drama Island'', and that did not change in ''Total Drama Action''. But when Leshawna's teammates learn that she pretended to have a breakdown in order to guilt trip her teammates into letting her have a night at a spa away from the set and badmouthed them behind their backs, Heather was the only one to forgive her and defend her actions. So when Heather was voted off, Leshawna tells Heather she considers them friends. In a later episode, Leshawna states that she meant what she said and she does consider Heather her friend. By season 3, Heather and Leshawna are back to being bitter enemies with no reason given why their friendship ended. In fact, Leshawna even hates Heather more, once beating Heather up for warning her about Alejandro being evil. And even when she learns Heather was telling the truth, she was still glad she beat Heather.
* YouAreFat: In the original ''Island,'' one of her favorite insults against Leshawna is to make cracks about her weight, but her rival gives as good as she gets.
-->'''Heather:''' ...especially that! ''(points to Leshawna's large bra hanging off the side of the bed)'' That is bugging me!\\
'''Leshawna:''' Yeah, it'd bug me too, if I didn't have anything in the front or in the back to shake!\\
'''Heather:''' Yeah?! Well, you got so much junk in your trunk, your jeans should come with a ''trash compactor''!
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe:
** Her shared reaction with Alejandro, Sierra, and Cody when Chris demanded a musical number during a ''very'' inopportune time.
** Her reaction to the robot breaking apart and revealing itself to have contained Alejandro in the first episode of ''Total Drama All-Stars.''
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: How she betrays Lindsay towards the end of "That's Off the Chain".[[/folder]]

"Nutty as a ten-ton bag of pecans smothered in peanut butter, encased in a cashew the size of China", Izzy is easily the most eccentric of all contestants. Bounding with endless energy and insane ideas, Izzy has a wild and excitable personality that makes her nearly impossible for anyone to handle.
----
* ActionGirl: She's able to regularly beat up a ScaryBlackMan with ease.
* AntiHero: She isn't the most heroic in the cast but isn't immoral either.
* ArchEnemy: To Chef Hatchet, trading blows with him on multiple occasions.
* AxCrazy: Her bio on the official pages at Teletoon and Cartoon Network hints that she is this.
* BadassAdorable: She's a CuteAndPsycho girl who can kick your butt. And Chef's.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: Despite being a crazy person, Izzy's really one of the friendliest contestants one could meet, especially when compared to someone like Heather or Courtney (who are more sociopathic than her).
* BewareTheSillyOnes: She has proven time and again that she is ''very'' unstable.
* BigEater: A rather disgusting example. In "Total Drama Drama Drama Drama Island", she casually gorges herself on almost a hundred marshmallows in a single sitting, then runs off to throw up from eating too much... then grabs some hotdogs and starts eating again once she's done puking.
* TheBigGal: On the Killer Grips and Team Amazon before the switch.
* BloodKnight: Izzy is one who enjoys fighting, although not to the death (usually).
* CatchPhrase: As Explosivo, "Boom-boom!"
* CheshireCatGrin: Her default expression.
* ChewingTheScenery: Katie Crown goes all out crazy while voicing Izzy, even improvising a vast amount of her lines.
* ClassClown: Although her first season is set in a summer camp rather than a high school, Izzy otherwise fits the trope, frequently cracking jokes and pulling pranks on her fellow campers.
* CleavageWindow: In her signature outfit. Also used as a VictoriasSecretCompartment in one of the ''Action'' aftermaths.
* CloudCuckooLander: Her defining character trait, as can be seen from her label.
--> '''Leshawna:''' Is it just me, or is that girl some kind of crazy?
* CoolCrown: She wears one in her second audition tape.
* CreepyGood: Despite her weird and borderline insane antics, Izzy is quite a friendly fellow to most contestants.
* CurbStompBattle: Was on the receiving end when up against Mal while she was in a spider costume in "Suckers Punched".
* CuteAndPsycho: She's is a GenkiGirl who is very [[ThePollyanna happy-go-lucky]] and [[BewareTheSillyOnes crazy as all get out]].
* CuteBruiser: She can hold her own against Chef and then some.
* DemotedToExtra: In World Tour, Izzy has no major interactions with anybody besides Noah and Owen (having very little interactions with either Alejandro or Tyler despite the smaller teams), is never seen in the confessional booth, is eliminated through a NonGameplayElimination halfway through the same episode where DJ is eliminated (notably being the only contestant to rank lower than a member of Team Victory), [[BreakingOldTrends doesn't stick to her usual tradition of returning after a previous elimination]] despite the reason for her elimination being cured in the very next episode, and is even [[WhatHappenedToTheMouse mysteriously missing throughout the fourth aftermath episode]].
* {{Determinator}}: When she heard about the Total Drama Island auditions, she camped outside a producer's front door for three weeks until he agreed to cast her on the show. She now has a restraining order against her and she can't come within two miles of his house.
* DissonantSerenity: She shows no concern about being covered in bees or a snake trying to kill her.
* DitzyGenius: Did she mention to you that she has an IQ of 188? Cuz she does! In ''World Tour'', a blow to the head makes her a super genius; however, she reverts back to her usual, crazy self with another blow to the head.
* DoNotCallMePaul: She demands to be called "Kaleidoscope/E-scope" during the first part of the second season.
* DubNameChange: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to "Édith".
* EarlyPersonalitySigns: As a baby, she howled at the full moon from her crib and could only fall back asleep to horror movie soundtracks, indicating she's always been an animalistic NightmareFetishist. Her TDWT bio adds a claim that she blew up her preschool with fireworks, and she's a pyromaniac as a teenager just as well.
* EveryoneHasStandards: As detached from reality as she usually is, she's clearly annoyed with Owen when he throws her towards a killer (actually Chef Hatchet in disguise). Though she seems to have forgotten all about it by the finale.
* ExtremeOmnivore: She casually bites the head off a raw fish when she returns in "No Pain, No Game", demonstrating her wilderness survival skills.
* FieryRedhead: So fiery, she is certifiably insane.
* FightingIrish: According to WordOfGod, she's Irish, and is a FieryRedhead and ActionGirl capable of fist-fighting Chef to a standstill.
* FishEyes: Briefly in "Aftermath: Revenge of the Telethon".
* FlowersForAlgernonSyndrome: Becomes a super-genius in the Jamaica episode but returns to her "normal" self in the second aftermath.
* FreakyIsCool: In her first audition video, she openly admits that she enjoys being freaky.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: She seems to get along better with animals than people, befriending prairie dogs, camels, beavers, and a snake with ease (although the last one bit her).
* FunPersonified: The character most dedicated to comic relief, being all about craziness and being silly. She's always out to have a blast and live life to the fullest.
* {{Gasshole}}: In the season one special she ate 95 marshmallows, chugged some soda and burped louder than Owen ever could right in Eva's face. After saying that Eva could burp better, she burps loud enough to cause a small tidal wave in a pool. Naturally, Owen is turned on by this.
* GenkiGirl: Hyper does not even ''begin'' to describe Izzy; she's so genki, that she's even enthusiastic about getting poison ivy wrapped around her face as part of a challenge.
* GirlWithPsychoWeapon: Normally a paintball gun would not qualify as a "psycho weapon", but because it's Izzy, she converted hers into a bazooka launcher.
* GoodBadGirl: She's a nutty chick with an ''extreme'' love for danger, but she also has a heart of gold right underneath that mental persona of hers.
* GratuitousSpanish: As Explosivo, she uses a few Spanish words in her sentences, like "loco" (crazy) and "Sí, muy caliente!" (Yes, very hot!).
* HeroicComedicSociopath: Especially when she's Explosivo! She also blew up the beach on Boney Island, using her special "kindling", and loves being hunted down by the RCMP.
-->'''Izzy:''' You'll never get me alive! AHAHAHAHAHA!!
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: The Tiny Girl to Owen's Huge Guy. While the height difference isn't that big, Izzy is rather thin, while Owen is very fat.
* IHaveManyNames: She insists on being called Izzy, Kaleidoscope/E-Scope, Explosivo, Esquire, and Brainzilla at different times.
* TheHyena: She is often seen laughing at something or someone, often at her own antics.
* HypocriticalHumor: In one episode of ''Action'' she gets frustrated by her teams' idiocy and states she's "[[SurroundedByIdiots surrounded by loons]]", which is particularly amusing considering her history as being the biggest CloudCuckooLander in the cast.
* ImpossibleGenius: As Brainzilla, she claims to have worked out time travel.
* ImprobablyHighIQ: Of 188. Or so she claims.
* InexplicablyAwesome: She's an ActionGirl and one of Total Drama's best combatants (capable of regularly beating up a ScaryBlackMan), has an alleged [[ImprobablyHighIQ IQ of 188]], SpeaksFluentAnimal, has pyrotechnic knowledge, is a master of many weapons, displays ToonPhysics, and has at least four [[SplitPersonality split personalities]], one of which is a savant level genius who [[ImpossibleGenius figured out time travel]].
* InSeriesNickname: "Psycho Hose Beast", mainly by Heather.
* KnuckleCracking: When she's about to take on Chef in "Hide And Be Sneaky".
* LargeHam: Izzy is about as subtle as a fireworks factory on fire.
* LeeroyJenkins: Characterized by her tendency to impulsively jump right into danger without hesitation.
* LethallyStupid: What does she do when she's informed of a bomb in front of her? Tap it with a hammer!
* LoopholeAbuse: Izzy invokes this when she returns in "The Chefshank Redemption", telling Chris and the others that they technically eliminated "E-Scope", not "Izzy".
* MadBomber: Part of the reason why she insists on being called Explosivo as (s)he's "Loco for Boom-Boom!".
* MadeOfIron: While she gets hurt just as much as other characters, she's among the few who take the punishment and gets right back up with it barely phasing her.
* TheMadHatter: Izzy is off the rails and she's proud of it, no matter who else gets weirded out by her antics.
* ManicPixieDreamGirl: To Owen.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Masculine Girl to Noah's Feminine Boy.
* MasterOfDisguise: Izzy loves to dress up and play the part of a ferocious animal. Her roles include a bear in "The Sucky Outdoors", a polar bear in the ''World Tour'' intro sequence, and a giant spider in both "Finders Creepers" and "Suckers Punched".
* MotorMouth: Izzy is prone to rapid-fire and often lengthy [[InfoDump mind dumps]].
* MsFanservice: Her standard outfit includes a {{cleavage window}}, a bare midriff, and a skirt that shows damn near everything between her legs. She also had a "meh" reaction to losing her bikini bottom in the pool.
* TheMunchausen: She is ''full'' of insane stories about where she learned her survival skills. Most of the cast dismiss everything she says (unless she's talking about how crazy she is, which is true), however, it turns out [[spoiler: she really ''is'' on the run from the RCMP, as discovered when they come for her during one of the marshmallow ceremonies. All the other campers are left staring in wide-eyed shock as she runs off into the woods, laughing madly and followed by the helicopter.]]
* NiceGirl: Troll tendencies and being completely insane aside Izzy is one of the kindest characters out of the first cast and tries to get along with almost everyone.
* NoIndoorVoice: Izzy has an occasional tendency to shout much of her dialogue.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown:
** She regularly beats Chef, a man more than ''twice'' her size, in a straight-up fistfight.
** She fell victim to one [[spoiler:by Mike (as Mal)]] in "Suckers Punched".
* NonGameplayElimination: Happens twice:
** In ''Up the Creek'', the RCMP come for her, which causes her to flee into the woods, effectively quitting the game, although the episode's preceding events suggest that she would probably have been voted off anyway.
** In ''World Tour'', she is taken by the (presumably) Canadian military in order to harness her new-found superintelligence.
* NoodleIncident: "If I can handle hand-to-paw combat with a polar bear, I can handle a bald, emotionally withdrawn cook in a Halloween costume!"
* TheNoseKnows: Claimed to "smell something lucky" during a maze challenge in Egypt. A more definite case of this power comes during ''All-Stars'', when she's immediately able to tell that there's something wrong with "[[SplitPersonalityTakeover Mike]]" because of his scent.
-->"You smell ''weird''! Like a honey cruller wrapped in rotten ham. Good on the inside, poison on the outside."
* ObfuscatingInsanity: Izzy's crazy antics are an excellent means of distraction, keeping her on the periphery of the drama and able to be flexible with where she needs to be. She outright boasts (only in the confessional) of having an IQ of 188, and her brief stint as Brainzilla shows that this isn't a lie.
* OddFriendship: With [[DeadpanSnarker Noah]] and [[HairTriggerTemper Eva]] during the ''Island'' special.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: She sobers up during particularly dangerous situations, such as the "Masters of Disasters" incident mentioned above.
* TheOphelia: Izzy is a fairly good example, with lots of emphasis being put on her mental instability, but nevertheless is a very attractive young lady.
* PerpetualSmiler: Aside from a few rare moments, she is ''always'' seen with some kind of smile on her face, usually a large, goofy grin.
* PetTheDog: After Katie and Sadie were initially placed on separate teams, she switched teams with Katie so she could be with her best friend.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: She regularly gives a whupping to Chef Hatchet (who's at least twice her height and three times her width), as well as being able to throw the 296-pound Owen with ease.
* PluckyGirl: The only time she has ever been genuinely upset is when Owen shoved her into the apparent Psycho Killer with a chainsaw and a hook [[DirtyCoward before fleeing]].
* ThePollyanna: {{Exaggerated|Trope}}. While Izzy is generally happy-go-lucky, only someone as crazy as her would take ''being strangled by a snake'' in stride, even going as far as calling it friendly and referring to a bite as a kiss.
-->'''Duncan:''' Uh, Izzy, you've got a snake on your head.
-->'''Izzy:''' I know, but don't worry. He's friendly. ''(the snake bites her, everyone gasps in terror)'' See? Kisses! ''(passes out)''
* ThePrankster: Izzy ''loves'' playing tricks on her fellow campers. In "The Sucky Outdoors", she pranks her team by dressing up as a bear.
* PreAssKickingOneLiner: Before beating up Chef (again) in ''World Tour,'' she yells, ''"EGYPTIAN STYLE!!"''
* PrimAndProperBun: She ties her hair into one of these when she becomes Brainzilla, a contrast from her normally wild personality.
* PrimalChestPound: Early on in Action, she beats her chest and does a ''WesternAnimation/{{Tarzan}}'' yell after Owen calls her Kaleidoscope when she was left behind.
* PsychoExGirlfriend: Not so much towards Owen, but to some of the guys she previously dated. In the first aftermath episode, she mentions her ex-boyfriend Graham, who filed for a restraining order against her.
* PyroManiac: She has quite a sadistic grin on her face when she creates the Izzy Fireball in the first season, and when she rigs (and detonates) the explosives in the War episode in the second.
* RedheadInGreen: Her regular outfit as well as her swimwear.
* {{Reincarnation}}: Of her great-grandmother, Mavis, or so she claims.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Noah's blue.
* RunningGag:
** Izzy returning to the game either as a contestant after previously being eliminated, or just as a [[TheCameo cameo]] at least once per season. The only season she does not do this is ''World Tour''. She has also managed to be on more than one team in every season she has competed in.
** For that matter, leaving the game in an irregular fashion.
* SanityBall: She's normally the opposite of sane, but when her team gets locked inside [[DrowningPit a tank that's slowly filling up with water]] in "Masters of Disasters", she's the only person who manages to stay calm and look for a solution.
* SarcasmBlind: In the special:
-->'''Izzy:''' Noah, I'm counting on you for three gallons of diesel fuel.\\
'''Noah:''' Sure thing. I'll just get my unicorn to deliver it.\\
'''Izzy:''' Perfect!
* SelfAppliedNickname: In Action, she decides she'll be called Kaleidoscope or E-Scope for short and insists everyone refer to her as such, even going so far as to not respond unless called by that name.
* ShipperOnDeck: She ships Cody/Sierra. She also smiled when Lindsay remembered Tyler, implying that she ships them too.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: This was even proven in the episode "Full Metal Drama" of ''Action'', where she ''genuinely'' thinks that Owen is cute, while Justin isn't (the latter was the cause of her second elimination of that season).
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Given she's one of the most recognizable characters in the series, and along with Ezekiel is the most likely to appear at random.
* StealthHiBye: She has a habit of popping up from seemingly nowhere from time to time.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Her Brainzilla persona wears glasses.
* SmokeOut: She disappears in a puff of smoke after being eliminated the second time on ''Island''.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Becomes the only girl on Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Hot.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: She can communicate with prairie dogs and camels. She also claims to have taken refuge in a beaver's den and was cared for by a family of beavers.
* SpidersAreScary: Makes a [[TheCameo guest appearance]] in ''Revenge'' and ''All-Stars'' dressed as a GiantSpider, each time freaking out Cameron.
* SplitPersonality: She forges a few in ''Action'': "Kaleidoscope/E-scope", "Explosivo", and very briefly, "Esquire". Gains another persona in ''World Tour'', "[[TvGenius Brainzilla]]," who can be invoked via head trauma.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her normal outfit is a sleeveless crop top with a cleavage window and a sarong that shows off her long legs.
* StalkerWithACrush: Her biography says she stalks boys that interest her.
* StrongGirlSmartGuy: She and Eva pull double duty as the Strong Girls to Noah's Smart Guy.
* SuddenlyFluentInGibberish: In "Walk Like an Egyptian - Part 2", she is able to convince a stubborn camel to carry the members of Team Amazon across a desert by speaking to it in [[PerfectlyCromulentWord camelese]].
* SurroundedByIdiots: Izzy [[CloudCuckoolander of all people]] says she is "surrounded by loons" in "Master Of Disaster" after Beth and Justin screw up the advantage they had for their team by getting water all over the paper with the combination code for the door.
* TechnoBabble: Her feats of "genius" as Brainzilla mostly amount to a whole bunch of a particularly meaningless form of this. What the heck is infinite time travel, anyway?!
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The energetic girly girl to Eva's grumpy tomboy.
* TomboyishName: Izzy, which may or may not be short for Isabella.
* TooKinkyToTorture: In "No Pain, No Game", she enjoyed getting shocked with electric eels and having her face wrapped in poison ivy, the latter of which she ''specifically requested,'' just to see what it was like.
-->'''Leshawna''': Is it just me, or is that girl some kind of crazy?
* ToonPhysics: Occasionally dives into this territory, such as in a World Tour Aftermath showing footage of her fighting Chef has her somehow attacking him from offscreen with ''three'' arms.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: She seems to have a taste for raw fish, happily tucking into them in "The Sucky Outdoors" and "No Pain, No Game".
* {{Troll}}: Due to her craziness, Izzy can be one at times.
-->''(while lost in the Sahara Desert)''\\
'''Gwen:''' Uh, guys! The other team is ''gone''. We're all alone out here!\\
'''Heather:''' Does anyone know where we are?\\
'''Izzy:''' ''(laughs)'' Planet Earth, silly!
* UglyGuyHotWife: She and Owen are both known for [[MsFanservice leaving little]] [[FanDisservice to the imagination.]]
* UnusualEars: Perhaps as a subtle way to show there is something "off" with her, her ears are depicted as being upside down.
* VibrantOrange: She has orange hair and a very energetic personality.
* VineSwing: She returns to the competition after being initially eliminated in Island by swinging on a vine.
* VictoriasSecretCompartment: She has a habit of putting food in her cleavage.
%%* VitriolicBestBuds: Has shades of this with Noah.
* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: In "Can't Help Falling in Louvre".
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: She's scared of airplanes. Although in ''World Tour'' she has no problem being in the Total Drama Jumbo Jet, implying that she got over it sometime after ''Island''.
%%* WideEyedIdealist: Compared to the other female contestants.
* WildCard: She's quite unpredictable with what "side" she's on during her three seasons as a contestant. During ''Island'', she was friendly with all of the campers for the most part and also had a relationship with Owen, one of the main heroes of the season. However, she still hung around with [[BigBad Heather]] and her gang at several points and was a sort of unofficial [[SixthRanger fourth member]] of their posse, at least during episodes when Heather needed extra assistance. Then she directly goes against the first BigBad of ''Action'', Justin, before anyone else does, making her surprisingly proactive on the "good" side, and she gets voted off because of it. Then during ''World Tour'', she clearly annoys the new BigBad Alejandro, yet she still supports him because they're on a team together, which makes her still technically in support of the BigBad although for a more understandable reason than her support of Heather during the first season. All in all, she's a nice but crazy contestant whose allegiances are difficult to predict.
* TheWorfEffect: Izzy, who is perhaps the most capable fighter of the contestants, has lost a few times with significant implications in the setting.
** In ''Revenge of the Island'', Izzy is in a spider costume, gets battered by [[StereotypicalNerd Cameron]], as part of him overcoming his fear.
** In ''All-Stars'', to show off just how savage Mal is, Izzy (once again in the spider costume) [[spoiler:is viciously beaten up and tossed aside by Mal.]] By now, it seems like Izzy wearing a spider costume is an indication she's going to lose.

[[folder:Leshawna]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5079_9.jpeg]]

->''"Whassup ya'll, Leshawna's in da house!"''

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/NovieEdwards
->'''Label:''' The Sister With 'Tude
->'''Teams:''' Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers, Team Victory
->'''Placements:''' 5th (TDI 2007), 8th (TDA), 15th (TDWT)
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/TotalDramaHauteCampTure Episode 22]] (TDI 2007), [[Recap/TotalDramaSuperHerold Episode 17]] (TDA), [[Recap/TotalDramaSlapSlapRevolution Episode 7]] (TDWT)

Big, loud, and proud, Leshawna doesn't take any nonsense from others and will not hesitate to get physical if they dare to push her buttons. But under her sassy, street-smart attitude, she is loyal, compassionate, and sisterly to those she holds close to her heart.
----
* TheAce: In ''Total Drama Island'', she is one of the consistently strongest competitors. She only has one major lapse of judgement (leaving [[BigEater Owen]] to guard the food in "If You Can't Take The Heat..."), never ends up on the chopping block, and is ultimately eliminated as a result of a DiabolusExMachina freak accident rather than any failure on her part.
* {{Acrofatic}}: The show actually averted this at first, when she quickly tired out during the long run at the beginning of the third episode and didn't stay awake very long in the actual challenge. It didn't take long until it was played straight, however.
* ActionGirl: She's an active competitor, taking on physical challenges with ease. She successfully beat a bear in a log-rolling contest and confronted Chef in his Psycho Killer disguise.
* AmicableExes: With Harold. Despite her usual annoyance with Harold's attempts to hit on her, she's still very close to him and is implied to have mutual feelings for him.
* BadassBoast: Being confident, determined and strong-willed, she has a number of these up her sleeve.
** During the boys-versus-girls gross eating competition: "Take a whiff, boys, 'cause all I smell is victory for me and my girls!"
** About to compete in a log-rolling challenge against a bear: "I've seen scarier-looking faces at the mall. I'm going in."
** Confronting Chef dressed as a serial killer: "Yeah? I got sixteen years in the projects! BringIt!"
* BigBreastPride: She has a large figure and is quite proud of it. When the contestants [[ItMakesSenseInContext need a bra to use as a catapult]] during the ''Action'' reunion special, she tosses them hers and cheerfully says, "What? You ain't never seen triple D's before?"[[note]]In the American version, this line was changed to "What? You ain't never seen a big bra before?"[[/note]]
* TheBigGirl: On the Screaming Gaffers and Team Victory.
* BigBeautifulWoman: One of the fattest contestants on the show, she works her large measurements quite well, Harold is strongly attracted to her, and it's portrayed that he's the one reaching. Alejandro flirts with her as well, although he had an agenda.
* BigFun: Not to the same extent as Owen, however ([[DoubleMeaning and, this ain't just physically literal]]).
* BigSisterInstinct: She displays a protective attitude toward some of the other campers. When Gwen was left in tears after seeing Heather and Trent kiss, Leshawna rallied the other campers to vote off Trent (as Heather was invincible for that round) and later switched the pipes while Heather was taking a shower so she would get covered in raw sewage.
-->'''Leshawna:''' ''(to a despondent Gwen)'' Girl, you've got to put Trent out of your head!\\
'''Gwen:''' I know...I just miss him so much already.\\
'''Leshawna:''' Well, baby girl, nothing heals a broken heart like ''revenge.''\\
''(Gwen smirks evilly in response)''
* CatchPhrase: "[X] is gettin' on my last nerve."
* DemotedToExtra: Every season she played in, she did worse and worse.
* EveryoneHasStandards: She hates Heather more than anyone else on the island does, but looks horrified after seeing her fall in a pool full of electric jellyfish in "Who Can You Trust?"
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Film/NapoleonDynamite Lafawnduh Lucas]]. Lindsay even [[AccidentalMisnaming calls]] Leshawna by that name early on.
* FatAndProud: Leshawna is proud of her weight and isn't afraid to say so.
-->'''Leshawna:''' You two ever see anyone with a booty as luscious as an apple like mine?[[note]]In the American version, this line was replaced with "You two know anybody with a kick-butt attitude like mine?"[[/note]]
* FatBestFriend: Type A (confident) to Gwen.
* FunnyAfro: In ''Action'', warm, humid weather causes her ''weave'' to somehow turn into a gigantic afro.
* GoodIsNotNice: Only a couple of examples, though. First, her badmouthing of the entire cast in ''Action'' may count. The second example is when she beat Heather up for [[CassandraTruth warning her about Alejandro being evil]]. When we next see her after her elimination in ''World Tour'', she's ''still'' glad for laying the smack-down on Heather, even though she found out she was telling the truth.
* GratuitousSpanish: "Harold, forget your stupid stamps! Three words: ''One...million...dineros!"''
* GrowlingGut: Her stomach let out a loud, hungry roar in "Basic Straining" during the canoe challenge, where the contestants weren't allowed to eat unless someone dropped out. She also ends up with a bloated, gurgling gut during "Full Metal Drama" thanks to drinking several of Chef's bran smoothies.
* {{Hypocrite}}: After ''Island'', she was shown to be extremely capable of being underhanded, two-faced, and unreasonable at times, just like plenty of the people she'd claimed moral high ground over.
* HypocriticalHumor: In "Not So Happy Campers -- Part 2", when she and Heather are trading insults, one of the things she mocks Heather for is wearing a ponytail, even though she also wears one.
* IdiotBall:
** In "If You Can't Take The Heat...", she leaves BigEater Owen to guard the food that the Screaming Gophers cooked completely unsupervised. Naturally, he gorges himself on the entire plate of ribs, turning their performance in the challenge from "bad" to "unsalvageable".
** In "Slap, Slap, Revolution". After she knocks Heather off the challenge, she gets so enraged that she accidentally threw the challenge to beat up Heather, rather than doing so after the challenge. This cost her the game. Had she stayed on her platform, she could have waited for Alejandro and Sierra to finish the fight and then, no matter what, her team would have still had three players, she [[LampshadedTrope Lampshades]] and regrets this in "Revenge Of The Telethon" saying that all it did was getting her eliminated.
%%* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: In ''Action.''
* JerkassBall: In "If You Can't Take the Heat...", she finds it amusing (along with the other girls) seeing Harold when he wakes up naked the next morning thanks to Duncan, Geoff and DJ. This is more jarring in her case, given how she dislikes Heather for bullying Gwen even though Harold suffers the same at Duncan's hands, and ironically, she leaves her underwear all over her cabin just like Harold does.
* JiveTurkey: Part of her "Sister with 'Tude" label.
* KarmaHoudini: In "Anything Yukon Do I Can Do Better", Leshawna suggests that in order to save time during the bobsled challenge any of Team Victory's members who don't make it to the bobsled head straight for the finish line so that they don't have to keep stopping at any of the checkpoints. When Team Victory ultimately loses the challenge due to Bridgette never making it to the finish line (as her tongue was stuck to one of the checkpoints); not only is it never pointed out that they lost due to Leshawna's idea, but Bridgette's the one that gets eliminated while Leshawna isn't even in the bottom 2.
* LargeHam: Especially whenever she's angry.
* LastMinuteHookup: She and Harold end up together right after his elimination when she finds out the love letters about her was from him. Leshawna lampshades this in the ''Island'' special and breaks it off with him. However, they still remain close friends.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: Light to Gwen's dark.
* MamaBear: She stands up for the more vulnerable campers (e.g. Lindsay, Beth, Harold) against the stronger, more manipulative ones (e.g. Heather, Courtney, Duncan).
* NeverMyFault: In "Full Metal Drama," Leshawna drinks two smoothies meant for Owen's digestive system. When she falls victim to stomach problems, she blames Chef for creating them despite drinking them in her own free will.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: In "Search and Do Not Destroy", after hearing that Trent was cheating on Gwen with Heather, she successfully gets all the campers to vote off Trent, because Heather had gotten an invincibility pass for that day's challenge. She doesn't learn until the elimination ceremony that Trent was tricked by Heather into breaking Gwen's heart, and was not really two-timing her. Thankfully, Gwen and Trent are able to set things straight and forgive each other before he has to leave the island.
* TheNicknamer: She even rattles them all off to motivate her team in ''Action''. Also, she sometimes calls herself "Shawnie" for short.
* OddFriendship: According to the ''Action'' special, she and Tyler teamed up to compete on multiple reality shows.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Leshawna often personally delievers Heather's karma, such as hooking up the washroom's water line to the septic tank in "Search and Do Not Destroy" while Heather was in the shower, resulting in her getting CoveredInGunge.
* PlotAllergy: In "[[Recap/TotalDramaOneFluOvertheCuckoos One Flu Over the Cuckoos]]", Leshawna claims to be lactose intolerant when she's offered pizza. And in "[[Recap/TotalDramaIfYouCantTakeTheHeat If You Can't Take the Heat...]]", she breaks out in hives as an allergic response to pineapple. Neither allergy comes up in any other episode.
* RevengeBeforeReason: In "Slap Slap Revolution", she unwittingly [[ThrowingTheFight throws the challenge]] in order to give Heather a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown. This results in her elimination.
* SassyBlackWoman: Her label is the "Sister with 'Tude". Her first appearance is a great example of the trope.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Harold wrote a haiku about her, and she fell for him when she found out that it was him who wrote it.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Regarding her awful dancing abilities.
* SoProudOfYou: Her reaction after Noah angrily calls Chris a "shmuck" and kicks a TV with his image on it in the ''Action'' special.
-->'''Leshawna''': Didn't know you had it in you, string bean!
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Her name can be spelled "Leshawna" or "[=LeShawna=]".
* SpotlightStealingSquad: She gets focused on a good bit because of her conflict with Heather (and to an extent Courtney in ''Action''); however, she has been OutOfFocus since her elimination in ''World Tour''.
* SucksAtDancing: Leshawna believes herself to be a great dancer and therefore nominates herself for the tie-breaker dancing contest in "[[Recap/TotalDramaBeachBlanketBogus Beach Blanket Bogus]]". The Screaming Gaffers immediately regret going along as Leshawna begins to shake it in a horribly inelegant way, winning only because Trent sabotages himself. In "[[Recap/TotalDramaBroadwayBaby Broadway, Baby!]]", she energetically follows along with DJ's tap dancing, only to be told by Lindsay to stop "for the love of dancing". In "[[Recap/TotalDramaSlapSlapRevolution Slap Slap Revolution]]", Alejandro realizes that the constant choreographic criticism Leshawna gets makes her sensitive to choreographic compliments, which he uses to gain her trust. And in "[[Recap/TotalDramaAftermathIIRevengeOfTheTelethon Aftermath II: Revenge of the Telethon]]", Leshawna takes charge of the fundraiser with a catchy song because that's what the hosts want, while she wants to dance but is told no. However, when Bridgette and Harold join in as backup dancers, Leshawna gives it a go too to everyone's horror. The hosts get the idea to extort money from the viewers by promising that Leshawna will stop dancing only if they get at least $100,000. They get $134,524.
* TeamMom: To the Screaming Gophers in ''Island,'' bringing them together and leading them when things get hard.
* ThirdPersonPerson: She occasionally refers to herself in the third person.
* TookALevelInDumbass: In ''World Tour'', particularly in "Slap, Slap Revolution" where she unwittingly loses the challenge in order to slap Heather silly.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In ''Action'' and later ''World Tour''. She got worse and worse in this regard the worse she performed by season.
* TrashTalk: She's quite skilled at this, especially when it comes to Heather.
-->'''Heather''': Back off ghetto glamour, too tight pants wearing, rap star wannabe.\\
'''Leshawna''': Mall shopping, ponytail wearing, ''Teen Girl'' reading, peaking in high school prom queen.
* WhatTheHellHero: Her teammates are understandably upset when her WoundedGazelleGambit and [[KickTheDog trash-talking]] are brought to light in "Masters of Disasters" and "Million Dollar Babies".
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: In "Phobia Factor", Chef terrorizes her by wearing a spider costume and chasing her around.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: In ''Action'', she pretends to have a breakdown in order to guilt trip her teammates into letting her have a night at a spa away from the set.
* WeUsedToBeFriends:
** Leshawna and Heather were bitter enemies in ''Total Drama Island'', and that did not change in ''Total Drama Action''.
** In ''Island'', she ends up developing a friendship with Duncan in "Trial by Tri-Armed Triathlon". However, this newfound friendship deteriorates in ''Action'' due to Duncan constantly picking on Harold (whom Leshawna has a soft spot for) and completely ends due to Leshawna fake crying to get the spa reward and insulting everyone in doing so which leads both of them to try and vote each other off in "Super Hero-ld".
* WillTheyOrWontThey: The crux of her dynamic with Harold; in spite of Leshawna constantly saying they're just friends, throughout each season they show plenty of ShipTease, and at multiple points she even returns his affections. This is especially prominent during their minimal interactions in World Tour, where she's a lot more tolerant of his advances and even flirts back. In spite of this, their relationship is constantly portrayed vaguely, leaving it open to whether or not they'll get back together.
** If the exclusive clip from "Hawaiian Style" is anything to go by, with them lounging on the beach beside the other couples, than it seems like they HookedUpAfterwards.

A textbook DumbBlonde, Lindsay combines drop-dead gorgeous looks with the intellectual capacity of a frosted cupcake. Although her naivety and childishness often get her in trouble, she is full of nothing but good intentions and has not a bad bone in her body.
----
* AccidentalMisnaming: A very prominent running gag is that she constantly mispronounces other characters' names, especially if the person in question is her boyfriend Tyler, where she sometimes gets it ''flat out wrong'', not even matching the same starting letter, much to his dismay.
* AllGirlsLikePonies: In the bike race challenge, Lindsay models her bike to look like a unicorn.
* AllLovingHeroine: She is immensely nice to everyone she meets, even to Heather, though that changes after her BreakTheCutie moment in "That's Off The Chain".
* ArcHero: Of ''Action'' alongside Beth. The two regret working with Heather last season [[TheAtoner and don't want to repeat their mistake]], so they end up showing a lot of opposition to Justin and Courtney. Courtney in particular comes to treat Lindsay as a rival similar to how Heather treated Gwen and Leshawna, though she ultimately ends up being a DecoyProtagonist because she's voted off rather anti-climactically due to her own stupidity.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: While telling off Heather in "That's Off the Chain!", the last point Lindsay made was Heather's shoes were tacky.
* BackstabbingTheAlphaBitch: In "If You Can't Take The Heat...", she helps Leshawna and Beth lock Heather in the walk-in freezer. Lindsay does let Heather out, and she forgives Lindsay; however, Heather threatened to shave Lindsay's hair off if the latter ever betrayed the former's authority again. In "I Triple Dog Dare You!", Lindsay uses Heather's own threat against her as a dare, leading to the latter's downfall.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: Quite possibly the most definitive example within the entire franchise. She certainly has the generally eye-catching looks (to which she has even worked as a professional model with them), and while she's often shown to be dimmer than a defective light bulb, she still genuinely has a heart that's as big as a puppy's.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: While Lindsay rarely gets angry, she curses out Heather in "That's Off the Chain!", and subsequently created the dare that led to Heather's downfall.
* BookDumb: She thinks English and American are two different languages.
* {{Bowdlerization}}:
** The American airing of her famous cursing scene was re-dubbed by the original actress... very badly.
** Similarly, her line "Maybe if I get an eating disorder or my boobs done, I'll get on a [magazine] cover!" was changed to "Maybe if I get an acting coach and my hair and nails done...!"
* BrainlessBeauty: She's allegedly the most attractive character in-universe, and a good candidate for the dumbest. Her ''Island'' character bio currently provides the page quote.
-->'''Official bio:''' Lindsay is proof that life is easier when you're drop-dead gorgeous, but to be fair, Mother Nature balanced things by making her as sharp as a frosted cupcake.
* BrutalHonesty: She tells Courtney that almost nobody likes her in "Haute Camp-ture".
* BustContrastDuo: She noticeably has a bigger set of "tomatoes" than either Heather or Beth do.
* CallItKarma: Right before she leaves the island after she is eliminated in "That's Off The Chain!" she tells Heather that she hopes she gets everything her karma owes her.
* CatchPhrase:
** "Are you Tyler?"
** A very distinctive sounding "Ohhhhh!" when someone explains something to her or she has a major realization.
* ClassPrincess: Despite her first season taking place on a summer camp rather than a high school, Lindsay otherwise fits the trope, who is easily the most genuinely popular camper among the first gen cast, and her best friend is Beth, a short, mousy [[NerdsAreNaive naïve nerd]] with NoSocialSkills.
* ClingyJealousGirl: In an OutOfCharacterMoment, Lindsay snaps at Bridgette when the latter falls into Tyler's arms in "Not Quite Famous".
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Largely due to her stupidity, combined with her very youthful nature, she can evoke moments of this.
-->'''Lindsay:''' Go ahead, ring her bell!\\
''(Chris rings the bell on her pony bike.)''\\
'''Lindsay:''' The real bike has sound effects like this: ''(She imitates the sounds of a pony.)''
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When Courtney asks if anyone knew anything about bombs, Lindsay immediately presents herself as an expert, because she was once in a play that "bombed."
* CuteButCacophonic:
** Downplayed. Her childish, high-pitched voice is appropriate [[SimpletonVoice given her lack of intelligence]]; however, in "Not So Happy Campers - Part 1", Gwen covers her ears when Lindsay whines about the communal bathrooms. Shortly thereafter, Lindsay screams bloody murder when she finds a cockroach in the cabin.
--->'''Leshawna:''' [[LampshadeHanging Oh man, that white girl can scream]].
** Both Courtney and Duncan were annoyed by Lindsay's [[HollywoodToneDeaf awful singing]] at the start of "Rock n' Rule"; even several animals were running away.
* CuteClumsyGirl: As well as having minimal intelligence, she also has occasions for falling into this territory. One such example is when she attempts to make a blowfish dish for Trent as one of the challenges, but she fails in actually making a delectable one that's safe enough to eat.
* TheCutie: Her cute, bubbly voice, and ditzy, but kindhearted personality definitely gives off this vibe.
* DaddysGirl: According to her ''Island'' bio.
* DamselInDistress: Gets kidnapped by Sasquatchanakwa in "Runaway Model".
* DemotedToExtra: She's usually a major character, just behind the likes of Owen, Heather, Duncan, Gwen, and Courtney. However in ''All-Stars'', she's the first elimination of the season.
* TheDitz: Despite being one of the dumbest contestants with little skill or clue as to what she's doing, she still remains one of the best contestants who fortune favors.
* TheDogBitesBack:
** In "If You Can't Take the Heat", instead of handing Heather her makeup bag, Lindsay throws it into the walk-in freezer, allowing Leshawna to lock Heather inside.
** Lindsay comes up with the dare that led to Heather's downfall in "I Triple Dog Dare You", using Heather's own threat of cutting off Lindsay's hair against her.
* DubNameChange: In the Canadian French dub, her name is changed to "Tania."
* DumbassHasAPoint: In "Haute Camp-ture", she points out to Courtney that even if Harold hadn't rigged the votes against her, she would've been voted out in another episode, since nobody liked her.
* DumbassNoMore: In ''Action'' she starts acting more intelligently, especially in "Get a Clue" where she figures out a lot of the clues and strategically takes Duncan to the reward just to mess with Courtney. [[StatusQuoIsGod Pity it doesn't last]] and she's back to being a DumbBlonde an episode later.
* DumbBlonde: Even though she isn't a real blonde. Heather brings this up when she is looking for hair, stating "I'm too smart to be Lindsay blonde."
* DumbIsGood: Her tension with Courtney and Heather really emphasizes this, but aside from those two, she is friends with just about everyone else on the show.
* DreadfulMusician: In ''Action'', Lindsay is revealed to be a terrible singer and might be tone deaf. She sings much better in ''World Tour,'' though.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Lindsay thinks romance is sweet, but during the first few episodes of ''Action'', even she gets sick of Bridgette's and Geoff's constant making out.
* ExactWords: In ''Who Can You Trust?'' from the first season, Lindsay claims she took biology. This doesn't mean she can actually cook animals, which costs her the win in that challenge.
%%* {{Expy}}: Of Kristen from ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}''.
* {{Flanderization}}: By ''All-Stars'' her DumbBlonde shtick is so exaggerated that she can't even figure out how to ''push a carriage''.
* {{Foil}}: To Heather. Both are a take on the "rich, popular, pretty girl" archetype; however, Lindsay is the ClassPrincess who genuinely liked by almost everyone despite her stupidity, while Heather, as the series' main AlphaBitch, embodies the PopularIsEvil trope, largely using fear and coercion to get her way.
* ForgetfulJones: She's terrible at remembering names, ''especially'' for her boyfriend Tyler.
* FormerFriendOfAlphaBitch: Unlike Heather, Lindsay originally believed their alliance was a genuine friendship.
* FunPersonified: She's always there to lighten the mood and provide laughs while wanting nothing more than to have a good time.
* GenkiGirl: While peppy and energetic, Lindsay is [[DownplayedTrope nowhere near as hyper]] as Izzy or Sierra.
* GeniusDitz: For the most part, she's a total idiot, but she shown herself to be mechanically skilled when it comes to bikes in "That's Off the Chain", not only making high-quality bikes for herself and Heather, but being capable of diassembling Chef's motorcycle and incorporating the engine into Heather's bike.
* GracefulLoser: She takes her elimination in ''Island'' pretty well, walking down the Dock of Shame and onto the Boat of Losers in style and cheerfully saying goodbye to her friends. Granted having epically told off Heather beforehand probably helped.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Despite being an unnatural blonde, her heart is in the right place.
* TheHeart: For Team Victory; overlaps more and more with TheLancer as the team dwindles in number. Even after the team had lost half its members, she did her best to keep DJ and Leshawna from giving up. And after Leshawna was eliminated, she still pep-talked [[DeathSeeker DJ]] enough that they worked together and scored their first actual win.
* HeldBackInSchool: In "Ocean's Eight - or Nine", Lindsay reveals that she was held back in Grade 8 ''twice''.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: She and Beth become good friends during their time in Heather's alliance in ''Island''. They maintain their friendship after breaking free from her and become very close during ''Action''.
* HiddenDepths: Rare occasions will show that there's more to her than just a pretty face.
** She displays a surprising amount of skill at water-skiing in "X-Treme Torture", winning the challenge for her team.
** In "That's Off the Chain", Lindsay manages to build not only her bike, but Heather's as well in the time it took everyone to make theirs. The quality of the bikes was clearly professional level given that Duncan complimented her Pony bike for its speed and the fact that Heather won the race with the bike she built too.
** She successfully solves the murder mystery in "Get a Clue" on her own.
** Her sheer enthusiasm for a gardening challenge in "Million Dollar Babies" suggests that Lindsay has quite the green thumb.
* HollywoodToneDeaf: Played incredibly straight in "Rock N' Rule," although she gets much better by ''World Tour''.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Her overly trusting nature is often exploited by villains.
* IconicItem: Lindsay always has abundant makeup with her, but the one she truly can't do without is her collection of lip gloss. In "[[Recap/TotalDramaOceansEightOrNine Ocean's Eight - Or Nine]]", she helps feed Owen with her fruit-flavored lip gloss. In "[[Recap/TotalDramaBroadwayBaby Broadway, Baby!]]", she insists she can't go home when she's not even used up a full tube of the season's worth she brought with her. In "[[Recap/TotalDramaAftermathIIRevengeOfTheTelethon Aftermath II: Revenge of the Telethon]]", the 400 tubes left when Lindsay got voted off are used as gifts for each donation of 100 dollars. And in "[[Recap/TotalDramaHeroesVsVillains Heroes Vs. Villains]]", Lindsay reveals she only came back to the show to win money for more lip gloss, but that it actually isn't worth it.
* IdiotHoudini: Despite being one of the dullest contestants on the show, she very frequently gets away with her stupidity due to a combination of her [[BrainlessBeauty appearance]], {{kindhearted|Simpleton}}ness, and [[TheFool pure dumb luck]]. She makes it far in the first two seasons and qualifies as an All-Star.
* ImpossibleHourglassFigure: The best example. [[InformedAttractiveness Apparently]], she's [[MsFanservice the most attractive female character on the show]].
* InformedDeformity: Her ordinary-looking feet are supposedly so big that she can barely fit a glass slipper onto her ''toe'' in "The Princess Pride". In every other episode when she is shown barefoot, her feet are normal-sized.
* InnocentBetaBitch: To Heather in ''Island'', as she was often forced by her to set others up for her evil deeds, such as keeping Gwen from entering the cabins, or standing with Heather when making Bridgette pick a side. However, Lindsay turned out to be more like a MinionWithAnFInEvil, as she oftentimes has great trouble carrying out Heather's commands.
* InnocentBlueEyes: She has blue eyes and lacks a genuine malicious backbone on her, being that she's very sweet and good-natured, even to her enemies.
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: While it's not stated she has no nudity taboo, she's sometimes too dull to realize she's left something exposed.
* InsaneTrollLogic:
-->'''Justin''': Which way do we go?
-->'''Lindsay''': North is nice, but east is least... West is best!
-->'''Leshawna''': Can't argue with that. Wouldn't even know ''how'' to!
* JerkassBall: In "If You Can't Take the Heat...", she finds it amusing (along with the other girls) seeing Harold when he wakes up naked the next morning thanks to Duncan, Geoff and DJ. Possibly [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]] in her case, given her lack of common sense on some occasions, so she could have easily done this without malice.
* KindheartedSimpleton: She's one of the nicest characters among the first generation, but also one of the dumbest.
* LethalChef: She tries to prepare fugu blowfish and ends up poisoning Trent by mistake. He got better, but still. The prior episode had Lindsay pour too much flambé liquid on a flambé in the cooking challenge, which resulted in the flambé and Heather's eyebrows getting burnt.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: Light to Heather's Dark.
* LittleBlackDress: She sports one during her solo in "What's Not to Love", although it's not actually colored black due to the song's ArtShift. It also serves as a ShoutOut to [[Creator/AudreyHepburn Holly Golightly]] from ''Film/BreakfastAtTiffanys''.
* LustObject: Chris has a very inappropriate, unhidden attraction to her.
* MaleGaze: In the cowboy-themed episode of ''Action'', Owen, Lindsay, and Beth come out of the showers after the challenge, all draped in towels. Owen takes a moment to steal a peek at her exposed cleavage while she reacts in shock to Gwen's confession to the team that she broke up with Trent after learning that he was intentionally throwing the game for her benefit.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: To [[AlphaBitch Heather]], since Lindsay is an InnocentBetaBitch who's [[DumbIsGood both too nice and too dumb]] to be evil.
* MsFanservice: She wears a tight tank top and a miniskirt most of the time, and has even dressed up as an admiral and Franchise/WonderWoman.
* NeverBareheaded: She always wears something on her head, usually a blue bandana. Even when she doesn't wear the bandana, she still has something on her head, like a sleeping mask, a hat (e.g. when she dresses up as an admiral), or a towel wrapped around her head. In her TDI promo picture, she wears a white headband and a pink flower.
* NiceGirl: She's a total sweetheart. [[DumbIsGood And an idiot.]]
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: For the Lindsay-Beth-Heather alliance in ''Island'', she is the nice to Heather's mean and Beth's in-between. Despite not being the sharpest tool in the shed, she's one of the nicest characters on the show.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Lindsay loudly puts her foot down that Beth should play the role of the serial killer in "The Sand Witch Project," shocking every single member of her team that she's being so forceful.
* PairTheDumbOnes: She's a BrainlessBeauty and is paired with DumbJock Tyler.
* PingPongNaivete: She shows the occasional glimpse of intelligence at times, most prominently in "Full Metal Drama" where she takes over leadership as "Admiral Lindsay Her Hotness".
* PinkMeansFeminine: Some of her alternate outfits such as her sleepwear and her loincloth in "One Million Bucks, BC" are pink.
* PomPomGirl: She mentions that she's a cheerleader at her high school in "The Sand Witch Project", and unlike Heather, she's the nice girl (but also BrainlessBeauty) variety.
* PopularIsDumb: Especially if you're an antagonist out shopping for a lackey to manipulate.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: After Lindsay realized she was being used, she gives Heather an [[ClusterBleepBomb expletive-laden one]] in "That's Off the Chain!".
* SarcasmBlind: Due to her stupidity.
--> '''Noah:''' Throwing balls, gee, another mentally challenging test.\\
'''Lindsay:''' I know right?
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: With DJ in ''World Tour'', once they're the only members left of Team Victory.
* ShoeSizeAngst: In "The Princess Pride," she's revealed to have big feet, and her big toe only fit on the glass boot. However, she had been seen barefoot multiple times before and since then; more specifically, she and Courtney were both seen barefooted in "Super Hero-ld", which was only ''two episodes'' before "The Princess Pride".
* SimpletonVoice: Her childish, high-pitched voice befits her lack of intelligence.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: When Tyler approached to her after the cockroach incident in "Not so Happy Campers, Part 1", he declares to her that he will do the same thing as what Duncan did to the insect. Thus, she immediately fell in love with him.
* SmartBall: During ''Action'' and ''World Tour,'' she sometimes had those. The best example is probably "The Sand Witch Project," when she figured out Harold and Duncan's horror movie tricks when no one else on her team could.
* SpoiledSweet: According to her Total Drama Island bio, she comes from a rich family, with a {{doting|parent}} father who gives her anything she wants. Her Sweet Sixteenth party was more expensive than an average house. She is also a total sweetheart, which even her friends from home admit according to her biography. In her audition tape, she says that she gets along well with everyone, including ugly girls (fittingly enough, her closest friend in ''Action'' is Beth, and after Lindsay is eliminated, she tells Beth that friendship is more important than money instead of being mad at her for indirectly causing her elimination). She's also a bit naive, which leads to contestants like Heather, whom she genuinely treated like a friend before realizing her true nature, to easily manipulate her.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: She is one of the most focused-on contestants, especially considering she's never been a finalist, and has gotten deeply involved with practically every antagonist in the first three seasons (especially Heather in ''Island'' and Courtney in ''Action''). However, in ''All-Stars'', [[DemotedToExtra she was the first one voted off]].
* ThinksOfSomethingSmartSaysSomethingStupid: Tyler asks Lindsay to go on a walk with him. Lindsay thinks to herself "Have to say no. Have to say no." because Heather doesn't want her getting cuddly with anyone on the other team. She ends up saying okay and goes on the walk.
* TookALevelInDumbass: Seems to get dumber with each passing season.
* UncertainDoom: Was last seen floating into the atmosphere in a balloon filled with Owen's farts.
* VibrantOrange: Her clothes are all various shades of orange and [[LadyInRed red]], which fits her cheerful, enthusiastic personality.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Heather in ''Island''. Despite Heather's clearly abusive treatment of her, she stood by Heather no matter what (even when everyone else hated her)...until Heather betrays her in "That's Off the Chain".
* UnlimitedWardrobe: She's worn more outfits than any other contestant in the franchise.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes:
** She ''hates'' cockroaches, to the point where she screams bloody murder after finding just one in her cabin. Later, in "Search and Do Not Destroy", she faces one of her worst nightmares: being ''swarmed'' by cockroaches while hiding from Gwen under the bed.
** In "Phobia Factor", she reveals that her biggest fear is walking through a minefield in heels; however, when Sadie revealed her fear to be bad haircuts, Lindsay changed hers to that. Despite supposedly overcoming said fear, Lindsay's fear of bad haircuts is reaffirmed in "If You Can't Take The Heat..." after Heather threatens to cut off all of Lindsay's hair while she slept if she ever teamed up with Leshawna again, and again in "No Pain, No Gain" after Chef tries to cut her hair with a ''chainsaw''.

While her blunt and moody attitude makes her seem cold and harsh, Gwen isn't anti-social; she's just cautious about who she lets into her social circle. But those who get to know her will find that she is a well-meaning kid at heart.smart, kind, level-headed, and independent woman.

* AccidentalMarriage: A fake accidental marriage anyway. Sierra claims that she became an ordained minister on the Internet and that all she needs to do is recite the wedding vows super-fast and get Cody to say "I do" for them to be "married". She eventually gets him to say it after asking him if he needed to use the confessional stall, Alejandro who was near by states that as a witness he can "confirm" them to be married (of course this is all so he can get Sierra's vote).
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: {{Gender inverted|Trope}}; he's the good guy chasing after Gwen, a goth "bad girl" who dresses in black and likes slasher movies.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Although they're not related, Gwen thinks of him as one, comparing him to "a really annoying little brother."
* AprilFoolsDay: The holiday on which he was born.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Right before voting for Sierra in "The Am-AH-Zon Race" he says that Sierra is the stalker-like girlfriend he always wanted until he actually got one.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Sucker punches Duncan in "Greece's Pieces" for taking Gwen and insulting his costume.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With Harold. While the two of them have never been on the same team or interacted much in the show, outside the show post-''Action'' the two of them become very close friends (even founding the Drama Brothers with Trent and Justin). In ''World Tour'', Harold proves himself to be Cody's biggest supporter, going so far as to side with Heather in the finale simply because Cody had done so.
* ButtMonkey: The butt of all jokes on Team Amazon.
* CasanovaWannabe: His EstablishingCharacterMoment has him walking overconfidently towards the girls.
* CharacterFocus: Despite being OutOfFocus in the second half of ''Island'' and all of ''Action'', he receives a significant amount of screen time in ''World Tour''.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: From a CasanovaWannabe to a [[SingleTargetSexuality Gwensexual]].
* ChildishToothGap: Has one, most likely to show his dorky nature.
* ClassicalAntiHero: He used to be a typical hero, but the third season expanded on his hapless traits.
* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: Quite frequently when Sierra rescued him in World Tour.
* CoolKidAndLoserFriendship: He and Harold are the losers to Trent and Justin's cool kids in "The Drama Brothers".
* CrazyJealousGuy: His immediate response upon finding out that Duncan and Gwen kissed is to punch Duncan in the face. He continuously harasses Duncan throughout ''Picnic at Hanging Dork'' and angrily kicks a Moai statue of Duncan in "Rapa Phooey!".
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite his short stature and GeekPhysique, Cody discovers he has a mean right hook and proceeds to punch Duncan ''out cold'' in "Greece's Pieces".
* {{Deuteragonist}}: While he ends up not being a finalist Cody's the second main focus of "World Tour" behind Heather and Alejandro.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: Not Gwen anyway. While it's unknown if Cody ever reciprocated Sierra's feelings. What we do know is by the end of "World Tour" he ends up becoming close friends with her, during a brief cameo at the beginning of "Revenge of the Island", he is shown smiling while Sierra hugs him tightly in direct contrast to his usual disturbance by the gesture. WordOfGod also states that Cody no longer has romantic feelings for Gwen by the end of "World Tour".
* DoggedNiceGuy: To Gwen. He took a dodgeball for her and packs picnic items in his pants hoping to have a romantic picnic with her while they were on Boney Island. Even after he finds out that Trent is the man she has the hots for, he sets them up and proclaims that even though he isn't her dream guy, as long as Gwen's happy he's happy. And then he's back onto it again, arguably more than ever thanks to increased screentime, come World Tour.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: His unceremonious defeat by Alejandro in the finale of ''World Tour''.
* DubNameChange: In the Canadian French dub, his name is changed to "Jordy."
* {{Foil}}: To Harold. Both serves as the resident geeky nerd on there teams. Both of them are seen as useless by the vast majority of the teammates, they are often bullied, they both have an unrequited crush on someone, and they prove to be surprisingly effective when push comes to shove. The very real difference is in how they are presented. Harold is depicted as a good person who unintentionally annoys his teammates; while Cody gets along with most of his teammates, he has some seriously perverted personality traits. Harold has often proven to be a reservoir of hidden talent, having managed to save his team in multiple challenges at the last minute, while Cody helps out far less often and sometimes verges into TheLoad. Harold did not make his feelings obvious for Leshawna, and when Leshawna found out about it, she did briefly kiss him. Cody's attraction to Gwen becomes very obvious, and Gwen does not reciprocate. In the ''Island'' special, Leshawna makes it clear to Harold that their kiss was in the heat of the moment, and she just wants to remain friends with him, and although Harold does occasionally make a move on her, he primarily respects her wishes and they work well together in challenges. Cody, despite being fully aware that Gwen was not into him, would not hesitate to try to flirt with her whenever he had the chance, even if it did not help the team, and would even commit actions that are tantamount to sexual harassment. Harold is very much Cody with morals and restraints.
* ForgottenBirthday: His parents forgot his 16th birthday. Apparently as a result he forgets about his ''own'' 17th birthday...but Sierra doesn't.
* {{Geek}}: It's even his label.
* GroinAttack: The most frequent victim after Harold.
%%* GoingCommando
* HammerSpace: He has seemingly bottomless pockets.
** In "Up the Creek", he's somehow able to fit an entire loaf of bread, a can of soda, and other picnic essentials in his pants.
--->'''Cody''': I was gonna make us a romantic picnic.
** In "The Am-AH-Zon Race", Gwen pulls out a whole stash of things from a single pocket including: a pack of breath mints, a bottle of hair gel, a deodorant body spray, X-ray glasses, and an Epi-Pen. All to look for batteries for his flashlight, which were actually in his other pocket.
* HiddenDepths: Despite being a geek he is a very skilled dodgeball player. He easily took out DJ and Katie when they had him outnumbered. Courtney even called him an [[UnderestimatingBadassery easy out beforehand]].
* HormoneAddledTeenager: He has a huge crush on Gwen, which manifests itself into him having perverted tendencies such as sniffing her hair and stealing her bra.
* HopelessSuitor: He's just not Gwen's kind of guy, no matter how much he wishes it were otherwise.
* HypocriticalHumor: As much as he dislikes Sierra's advances, he's still going after Gwen the same way.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: It's heavily implied he suffers this, mostly in ''World Tour'' but even as far back as ''Island'': despite not being the reason his team lost, he looks extremely nervous that his teammates are going to vote him off in "Up the Creek".
* InnocentBlueEyes: [[PlayingWithATrope Playing With]]. While he does have blue eyes, there are some moments when Cody seems very innocent and relatable, but other instances where he can be perverted and irksome.
* {{Irony}}: He is one of the characters who sang the least in ''World Tour'' even though he is one of the [[BoyBand Drama Brothers]].
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: "Gwen is my dream girl. I'm just not her dream guy but hey, as long as she's happy, I'm happy." However, he [[AvertedTrope averts]] this in ''World Tour'' when he is '''''not''''' happy to lose his second chance at her to Duncan.
* LaserGuidedKarma: After his own stalkerish behavior towards Gwen, he gets his own stalker in the form of Sierra.
* TheLoad: Downplayed trope. In season three, Cody is easily the weakest member of the team, although a good chunk of that is due to him being on the same team as the far more capable Heather, Gwen, Courtney, and especially Sierra, who often helped him, which has the unfortunate side effect of making him look weak by comparison. Additionally, he even spends an entire episode comatose and did nothing at all. However, Cody is still able to pull his weight in challenges fairly well, such as in Greece, and to his credit, he came close to beating Alejandro and only lost due to Heather distracting him.
* LovableNerd: Cody is a very flirtatious dork and his stalkerishness can be downright creepy and insufferable but he can also be very romantic, earnest and awkwardly endearing.
* NerdsArePervs: Cody is a short {{geek}} who thinks his interest in physics makes him "cool." He puts on airs of confidence to [[CasanovaWannabe hit on girls]], particularly Gwen -- he even makes a bet with Owen to get Gwen's bra. He gets ignored at worst and beaten up at best, with the exception of his own AbhorrentAdmirer, Sierra.
* NerdsAreSexy: According to Sierra, who had some RealLife inspiration.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Had he not harassed Duncan throughout ''Picnic at Hanging Dork'', Duncan would not retaliate and caused Cody to be injured to vote properly later in the episode. As a result of their conflict, Gwen was eliminated.
* NoGuyWantsToBeChased: According to the Creator/CartoonNetwork website for ''World Tour'', his favorite place is "away from Sierra."
* OddFriendship: He and Heather develop a friendship over their shared hatred of Alejandro in ''World Tour''.
* TheOneGuy: The sole male member of Team Amazon (although nobody other than Sierra ever remembers).
* OverlyLongName: Sierra reveals that his full name is Cody Emmett Jameson Anderson.
* ParentalNeglect: Cody's parents forgot his own birthday, which means he eventually forgot it as well.
* ThePeepingTom: He tries to watch Gwen change into her swimsuit in "Not Quite Famous", and "The Am-AH-Zon Race" reveals that he owns a pair of x-ray glasses that allow the wearer to see through clothing.
* PickyEater: He dislikes having an unbalanced hypoglycemic index in his diet, according to his ''Island'' biography.
* PlotAllergy: Cody's deadly allergies that can send him into anaphylactic shock come up in "[[Recap/TotalDramaTheAmAHZonRace The Am-AH-Zon Race]]". Sierra lists them all: black ants, brown ants, red ants, bejo beads, wolf spiders, katydid crickets, the clear-winged Cithaerias pireta butterfly, and goat saliva. He's given an [=EpiPen=] to have a shot at surviving the Amazon Rainforest.
* PrinceCharmingWannabe: [[AvertedTrope Averted]] in ''Island'', where he stops hitting on Gwen once he realizes that she isn't interested in him, but played straight in ''World Tour'', where he pursues Gwen despite her obvious discomfort and the fact that she already has a boyfriend.
* PunnyName: His name is one letter away from "code", as in a [[{{Geek}} computer code]].
* SatelliteLoveInterest: In a way. Shortly after he finishes the IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy shtick in ''Island'', he gets eliminated [[BearsAreBadNews in a very painful way]]. Then in ''World Tour'' he had two purposes: to be Gwen's creepy HopelessSuitor and to be Sierra's target of affection.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: The Savvy Guy to Sierra's Energetic Girl (much to his misfortune).
* SheIsNotMyGirlfriend: In ''World Tour'', but only when he was around Sierra and even then it's {{Justified|Trope}} with all he had to go through with Sierra invading his personal space and belongings on a regular basis.
* SingleTargetSexuality: He's first seen hitting on all the girls, but he pretty quickly settles into being a Gwen-sexual. Meanwhile, he's the ''target'' of Cody-sexual Sierra.
* SmallNameBigEgo: He thinks he's quite the ladies' man and is a nerd who thinks of himself as a 'cool kid'.
* SmarterThanTheyLook: While often dismissed as a geek who does nothing for the team, Cody has actually shown himself to be quite intelligent on occasion. In the Island special, he successfully defeated Justin by turning his desire for fame against him. In the penultimate World Tour episode, he almost manages to beat Alejandro by calling him Al, knowing Alejandro will become angry and make mistakes. The only reason Alejandro was able to win was that he cheated.
* StalkerWithACrush: His crush on Gwen sometimes reaches stalker levels, such as when he sniffs her hair or tries to get her bra.
* SweetTooth: He has a candy addiction.
* TemptingFate: In "Paintball Deer Hunter" he believes that despite being handicapped from being mauled by a bear, his team won't vote him off. Cue confessionals of Leshawna and Owen voting him off.
* TheyJustDontGetIt: In "Up the Creek", he doesn't seem to get that Gwen isn't interested in dating him, though by the end of the episode, he understands and helps her hook up with Trent.
-->'''Cody:''' So you wanna go out sometime?\\
'''Gwen:''' No.\\
'''Cody:''' How about Friday night?\\
'''Gwen:''' Uh, no.\\
'''Cody:''' Saturday's good for me. How about Saturday?\\
'''Gwen:''' I am not going out with you. Ever.\\
'''Cody:''' Okay, okay. Sheesh.\\
''([[{{Beat}} beat]])''\\
'''Cody:''' ...So is Sunday out of the question?\\
''(Gwen hits him in the groin with her canoe paddle)''
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: The obvious tiny guy to Sierra's huge girl.
* UnderdogsAlwaysWin: Ahaha, [[SubvertedTrope no.]] Despite making it to the final three and being hyped up in-series as just as much of a contender as Alejandro and Heather throughout the last few episodes, a weak player who only made it this far through a combination of other players being more viable targets and a now-eliminated player's help wasn't going to be able to take on the season's main smart ''and'' physically capable villain. Hell, he wouldn't have even made it ''to'' the finale without Sierra actively helping him post-elimination.
* UngratefulBastard: At first, his only responses to Sierra's rescues were [[ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike complaints and insults]], but he starts to appreciate her around the time she [[TakingTheBullet takes a meatball to the gut for him]].
* VocalEvolution: His voice gets deeper around the end of Island onward.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: His worst fear is having to defuse a time bomb under pressure.

* TheArtifact: The existence of Alejandro--who's as handsome as he is, smarter, more skilled, ''and'' lacks the handicap of losing his confidence when his good looks are tarnished--has now rendered his character completely obsolete.
* AscendedExtra: He was eliminated fourth and almost never spoke in ''Island''. ''Action'' gives him much more screen time and plot relevance...at least until Courtney returns midway through the season.
* AttentionWhore: Particularly when he's {{Shirtless|Scene}}. Cody actually uses this against him in the Island special, by making him believe the paparazzi are present, and then he immediately gets trampled by the guys.
* BeautyIsBad: He's basically the ''Total Drama'' version of [[WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast Gaston]]. Is considered handsome InUniverse and even when he's not the main villain, he is shown to be a jerk. However, when his beauty is "tarnished", he ceases being a threat.
* BigBadWannabe: Of the first third of ''Action''; even during his stint as main antagonist, all he really did was get a legitimate liability to his team and then a strong player on the opposite side eliminated. See DiscOneFinalBoss below for more.
* BishieSparkle: Even his photos have this.
* BrainlessBeauty: Played with. He's actually pretty savvy, but he ''believes'' this to be the case about himself (see above quote, made when he believed [[BeautyToBeast his looks to be ruined by a black eye]]). Apparently, he thinks his ability to strategize only works when his beautiful looks are intact.
* ButtMonkey: Became this in ''Action'' after Owen's unfair elimination and is most prominent in "The Princess Pride".
* CampStraight: Justin's obsession with modeling is pretty camp and his looks also cause a lot of guys to lose their composure over him and he also has a slightly effeminate voice. He was revealed to have cried at someone's wedding in the first part of the finale. However, he flirted with Courtney during the fairy tale challenge in ''Action'', which unfortunately led to him getting injured and eliminated.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Was a pretty nice but very quiet guy in Island, but starting in Action was a more talkative, manipulative pretty boy and an arrogant douchebag.
* CharacterFocus: He received significant focus as the main antagonist of ''Action'', at least until Courtney returned to the competition.
* CharmPerson: His attractiveness has been stated in-universe to be his "powers".
* CheatersNeverProsper: He cheated in the awake-a-thon challenge by painting his eyelids to make it look as if he was staying awake. He gets caught by Gwen and Trent and was promptly pulled out of the challenge. It gets subverted after his team wins invincibility due to Gwen being the last one still awake in the challenge.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: Makes a pact with Harold to take down Duncan, and states he would let Harold win, only to betray Harold once he had taken care of Duncan.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: Of Heather. Both started off as the main antagonists of ''Island'' and ''Action'' respectively, but while Heather had a hard time hiding her nature amongst most contestants because of [[AlphaBitch her personality]], Justin was able to hide his nature from everyone, save for a few contestants, by using his good looks. However, Heather made up for this by being [[TheChessmaster strategically]] [[ManipulativeBastard cunning]], made it all the way to 3rd place and kept her role as the villain of ''Island'', while Justin didn't really have any smarts or competence beyond using his looks and only reached [[DiscOneFinalBoss 7th place]], while his role as a villain was quickly replaced by Courtney.
* CoolKidAndLoserFriendship: He and Trent are the cool kids to Cody and Harold's losers in "The Drama Brothers".
* DeathByIrony: He's eliminated in ''Action'' when Courtney, the girl he's infatuated with, manipulates his feelings for her to get ahead in the game, something he'd been doing to other girls since the season started.
* DemotedToExtra: After he loses to Courtney in "The Princess Pride", Justin ceases to be relevant and is relegated back to being a background character, and he only speaks in the first Aftermath episode in ''World Tour''.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Set up as the main antagonist contestant in ''Action'', but when we learn he's only smart and strategic when it comes to his looks and that his sexiness was having less and less of an effect on the girls, he just became a whiny pretty-boy. When Courtney came back, it was pretty clear he had been replaced and rapidly gets eliminated by her.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: He has this effect on Owen, and then on Chef in the Total Drama Drama Drama Island special, and Harold and Geoff in "Monster Cash".
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** Like Lindsay and Beth, he is furious when Owen is eliminated by Courtney's sole vote. Despite how he treats him at times, even he sees Owen as a friend.
** He is upset about DJ being disqualified suggesting that Chef should be punished instead.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: Everyone and everything which lives and breathes will be held within the grasp of Justin's charms. ''Man-eating sharks'' even drag him out of the water when he's drowning and give him CPR.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Played with. He goes from a minor character in ''Island'' to BigBadWannabe in the ''Island'' special and the first half of ''Action'' to being relegated back to being a background character after he is eliminated by Courtney in "The Princess Pride".
%%* HeadTurningBeauty: A very direct male version.
* HiddenDepths: His ''Island'' bio states that he volunteers at a retirement home.
* HollywoodHomely: In-Universe. He considers himself a hideous freak over a few minor injuries.
* HumiliationConga: He gets voted off by his crush, Courtney, to whom he had just surrendered immunity and who seriously injured him during the challenge in question, including damage to his precious face. He can't even get the girls he'd been trying to manipulate for the entire season to acknowledge that he's leaving; the best he gets are some sarcastic farewells from the other guys. He hurts himself again getting into the Lame-O-Sine.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He is genuinely outraged at cheating, betrayal, or other unfairness directed at his own interests, but he doesn't quite seem to grasp that other characters don't appreciate it when ''he'' exploits ''them''.
* {{Jerkass}}: An egotistical and lazy narcissist who uses his charisma to deceive and manipulate other contests.
* LadykillerInLove: In the ''Island'' special and the first half of ''Action'', Justin uses his looks to get several girls to do what he wants. In the last challenge in "The Princess Pride", he professes his feelings for Courtney; however, she doesn't return the sentiment. However, in his parting words in the Lame-o-sine, he claims that love is overrated anyway, saying that modeling pays.
* LaserGuidedKarma: In ''Action'', Justin exploits Beth's and Lindsay's attraction to him in order for them to do his bidding. In "The Princess Pride", Courtney manages to manipulate ''his'' feelings for her, in which she seizes the opportunity to win immunity and give Justin a painful and humiliating defeat.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Plays every time his sexy overwhelms the opposite sex ([[MyFriendsAndZoidberg and]] [[AmbiguouslyBi Owen]]). For some reason, it is heard again in the ''Pahkitew Island'' episode "Sky Fall" when Chris explains the robot crocodiles' features.
* TheLoad: In the second season once he hits VillainDecay (i.e. when Courtney drops in).
* ManipulativeBastard: Though with him it's more of a case of CharmPerson, thanks to his supernaturally hypnotic attractiveness. Needless to say, once he loses his looks, he loses his hold over others as well.
* MinorInjuryOverreaction: In ''Action'', he thinks he's become "a hideous beast" when he hurts his face.
* MrFanservice: His sole reason for existing; his label is the "Eye Candy". In fact, in the very first episode, Chris ''flat out'' tells him that he was purely chosen for the competition because he is attractive.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: He's the only character in the entire franchise to have colored pupils instead of just irises, most likely to accentuate how handsome and defined his characteristics are.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Even though he is obsessed with his good looks and is somewhat effeminate in caring for his good appearance, it's hinted that Justin enjoys gross things, given how he praised Owen for burping the whole alphabet during the auditions for the talent show challenge.
* TheOneGuy: To the Killer Grips after Owen's elimination.
* OutOfFocus: Multiple times. He was out of focus in ''Island'' due to [[TheQuietOne almost never speaking]], his role as a villain was turned into an AbortedArc in ''Action'', and ''World Tour'' introduced [[SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute Alejandro]]. Even in episodes featuring the Drama Brothers, he didn't do as much as the others.
* {{Pride}}: He's always admiring his physique and seems to carry a mirror with him everywhere he goes.
* TheQuietOne:
** In ''Island'' where he only spoke two sentences in the whole season, not counting the special. WordOfGod states it's because his voice actor was preoccupied at the time.
** In ''World Tour'', his only speaking appearance was in the first Aftermath episode, and he becomes a silent background character going forward.
* RomanticFalseLead: He becomes this to Duncan/Courtney in one episode. [[MurderTheHypotenuse With expected results]].
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Sensitive Guy to Alejandro's Manly Man. He's less likely to do physical work and is a SissyVillain.
* ShirtlessScene: He is often seen without his shirt on.
* SissyVillain: He's ridiculously obsessed with preserving his looks and fangirl appeal.
* SomebodyDoesntLoveRaymond: He gets Izzy eliminated (again) in "Full Metal Drama" when she reveals that she never found Justin that cute.
* SmugSnake: He boasts about being a great, manipulative strategist but it turns out that he's a BrainlessBeauty whose manipulations rely solely on his good looks. When his face gets damaged, he barely poses a threat.
* SuddenlyVoiced: After spending most of ''Island'' silent, he suddenly starts talking in the finale, and continues doing this into ''Action''.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In ''Island'', he seemed like an alright person who would help his team when they needed him. Come ''Action'', and he's been set up to be the villain (and even when that was done away with, he still was not a nice person).
* VillainDecay: Happens during the very season he's the BigBad of. During the first half of ''Action'' he was manipulating the female contestants with his looks. However, his looks gradually started to have less effect on the girls, and as he's not a very smart or strategic contestant otherwise, he was relegated to being TheLoad. Then Courtney shows up, usurps the BigBad position from him and causes his elimination.
* VocalEvolution: His voice gets more effeminate in Action in order to showcase his CampStraight side much more.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: In ''Island'', to an extent. He almost ''never'' speaks in that season, aside from his introduction in the first episode.
* AWolfInSheepsClothing: He seemed non-threatening at first; however, he reveals that he had a more sinister side in the ''Island'' special. However, Justin's threat level diminishes after Courtney's return in "Oceans Eight-or Nine" and ''especially'' after his defeat by her in "The Princess Pride".
* WouldntHitAGirl: In "The Princess Pride", he declares he would never hit a lady, and willingly sacrifices his own immunity for Courtney and lets her hit him, [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished causing him to tumble off the tower and get severely crippled,]] [[HumiliationConga and he gets subsequently voted off]].

* AmbiguouslyBi: His voice and mannerisms can come off as pretty camp (particularly in the first season), and has cuddled with Cody twice (though the first time was unintentional and freaked him out), but he's also had ShipTease with Bridgette, seems to actively dislike [[EvenTheGuysWantHim Justin]], and has a romance arc with Emma in ''The Ridonculous Race''.
* AndThereWasMuchRejoicing: When he gets eliminated, everyone celebrates it, even the usually friendly Owen can't help but loudly cheer.
* AscendedExtra: He was voted off third in ''Island'', only appearing in six total episodes out of 26, but has a much more prominent role in ''World Tour'' and in the spinoff ''The Ridonculous Race'', [[spoiler:making it about halfway through both seasons]].
* AssholeVictim: In the first season, Noah's elimination is celebrated by everyone. After he starts to complain, his entire team starts throwing marshmallows at him. Due to his constant whining, it's not undeserved.
* BrainyBrunette: A dark-haired character with absurdly high intelligence and hacking skills (according to his biography at least).
* BreakoutCharacter: Despite initially being one of the most minor contestants in the series, his [[DeadpanSnarker snarky personality]] caused him to become a massive fan favorite, which eventually led to him becoming a [[AscendedExtra major character]] in ''The Ridonculous Race''.
* BrilliantButLazy: His [[DeadpanSnarker Deadpan Snarkiness]] may have had something to do with that...
* BromanticFoil: To Owen. In contrast with Owen being a happy, go-lucky, lovable goofball, Noah is snarky, cynical, and indifferent about everything.
* BollywoodNerd: WordOfGod says he's Indian, but unlike most examples of this trope, [[AmbiguouslyBrown it's not obvious]].
* {{Bookworm}}: He's the type of intellectual that would much rather read a book than participate in sports.
* BullyingADragon:
** When he arrives on the island, one of the first things he does is make a mildly mocking comment towards Duncan, a guy with piercings and a spiked collar who doesn't really look like someone you should mess with.
--->'''Noah''': Nice piercings, original. Do them yourself?\\
'''Duncan''': ''(grabs Noah's lip)'' Yeah. You want one?\\
'''Noah''': ''(not intimidated)'' No, thanks. Can I have my lip back, please?
** He does it again in the ''Island'' special, when he teases Duncan for getting left behind by Courtney when he sprains his ankle and she runs off with the million-dollar briefcase.
--->'''Noah''': So, your girlfriend turned on you, huh? Bet you feel like a loser now. Less of a man.\\
'''Duncan''': Enough of a man to take your head off, geek! ''(rips off Noah's pants and sends him running away, screaming like a little girl)''
* ButtMonkey: After Tyler, he is the most frequent pain magnet of his team in season three.
* CharacterDevelopment: Went from an [[PerpetualFrowner almost eternally frowning]] NonActionSnarker who hates physical activity to being a NotSoStoic DeadpanSnarker who's willing to work when needed.
* ChildProdigy: He hacked into a video game system and became its site moderator when he was six years old. His biography even describes him as "a [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin child prodigy]] with an IQ reading off the charts".
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: To Izzy and Owen in ''World Tour''.
* DeadpanSnarker: He's got the sharpest tongue among the first-gen campers, if not overall.
-->"[[SarcasmMode Eeeeeee.]] Congratulations, you just peaked. It's all downhill from here, honey."
** He even manages to snark while singing:
---> ''"Come fly with uuuuus, come [[LastSecondWordSwap die]] with uuuuuus."''
** And while falling towards certain death:
--->''"But first we must cease dropping, our goal here would be stopping."''
* DeterminedDefeatist: During ''World Tour,'' he retains his cynical attitude, but gives his all in challenges to help his team win.
* ADeathInTheLimelight: In "Dodgebrawl" and "I See London..."; the first time the extra screen time justified his elimination; the second time it revealed him as a threat.
* DorkInASweater: An InsufferableGenius who wears a sweater-vest.
* DrearyHalfLiddedEyes: His default expression gives him half-lidded eyes to emphasize his [[BrilliantButLazy laziness]] and [[DeadpanSnarker sarcastic attitude.]]
* DubNameChange: In the Canadian French dub, his name is changed to "Lucas."
* EarlyPersonalitySigns: According to his TDI and TDWT biographies, his intelligence dates back to infancy, as he was reading the ingredients on his pablum when he was a baby and hacked into his favorite MMORPG at age ''six''. His biting wit also dates back to childhood, as he claims he made his bully cry at assembly by mocking his shoes.
* FascinatingEyebrow: His default expression has his eyebrow raised quizzically.
* FateWorseThanDeath: {{Downplayed}}. In "Total Drama, Drama, Drama, Drama Island", as Harold keeps telling Noah several unwanted facts, Noah mimics the acts of shooting himself in the brain and hanging himself, indicating he'd rather do that than listen to Harold.
* {{Foil}}: Noah and Owen are best of friends but otherwise are polar opposites in virtually every single way. Owen is a big, fat, and none-too-bright optimist with an enthusiastic attitude, love for having fun, and an eagerness to make friends, while Noah is a small, scrawny, and highly intelligent cynic with an apathetic view of the world, a lazy nature, and a condescending attitude towards most people.
* GenreSavvy: According to his biography, he signed up to Total Drama to apply his "multi weaponed fantasy land surviving skills" to the real world.
* GirlyRun: He does this as he flees the erupting volcano in the ''World Tour'' finale. Eva flat out tells him he runs like a girl in "Total Drama Drama Drama Drama Island".
* GoodIsNotNice: He may be ethical but that doesn't make him any less abrasive.
* HateSink: Noah has very little positive qualities in the first season. He spends most of his screentime insulting his own team and cannot comprehend why he's voted off. Keep in mind, he had done nothing to help his teammates and blames everyone but himself for his elimination. After his elimination, he becomes the second sourest person on the island(after Courtney, who he ironically calls out for being a SoreLoser) and still believes he was a team player who did nothing wrong. Noah also shows a total disrespect to any of his fellow competitors to the point where his entire team votes him out and celebrates afterwards. This actually failed as Noah ended up being well-liked for his hilarious one liners and the writers exploited this to give him more focus turning him into one of the most beloved characters of the franchise.
* HeroesLoveDogs: "My golden lab drools less [than Courtney does over Duncan] over a rib-eye steak."
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Owen as of ''World Tour''. They're even teamed up in ''The Ridonculous Race''.
* HiddenDepths: In the Action special, he shows that he's stronger than he looks when he angrily kicks a TV.
* HypocriticalHumor:
** After his team loses the dodgeball challenge he tells them they had a weak effort. This is coming from the guy who did nothing to help them all episode. The rest of the team is understandably fed up with him for this.
** He also calls Courtney out for being a SoreLoser, yet he himself maintains a NeverMyFault attitude regarding his early elimination and acted like a SoreLoser when he got eliminated.
* ImpossiblyHighIQ: He has "an IQ reading off the charts" of 180.
* InformedAttribute: He has false teeth but it's only mentioned once by Sierra before she was formally introduced.
* InformedAbility:
** It's stated that he's smart InUniverse and by WordOfGod, but he's rarely ever ''seen'' doing anything smart, which is largely due to a case of BrilliantButLazy.
** Downplayed regarding his ''Island'' label, "The Schemer." He doesn't do much actual scheming or even strategizing in any of his seasons, but him being a schemer isn't even mentioned much in his biographies, unless one counts the fact he criticizes his bullies to the point of tears. It's likely just [[TheArtifact a remnant]] of some scrapped Noah characterization.
* InsufferableGenius: He's known for being a sarcastic and abrasive snob that tends to brag about his intelligence. Being lazy, smug and antisocial doesn't help his case, but it did cause him to get on others' nerves to the point of them voting him out first for being a stuck-up jerk that refused to participate in the dodgeball tournament. Luckily, he does become more involved in helping others.
* {{Jerkass}}: In ''Total Drama Island'', he has little characterization beyond being a snide little prick who does nothing to help his team. He gets much better in later seasons, though.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He may be a notorious DeadpanSnarker who has an insult prepared for everyone, but he still seems to be on good terms with [[HeterosexualLifePartners Owen]] and [[OddFriendship Izzy]], and is cordial enough to warn everybody about Alejandro upon being eliminated in ''World Tour''.
* KnightInSourArmor: His laziness makes him reluctant to take up the hero role, but he nonetheless remains on the good side.
* LackOfEmpathy: In "Aftermath: I, [[http://totaldrama.wikia.com/wiki/File:TDAAftermath.png he's the only one who doesn't respond emotionally to Trent's breakup song]], instead looking bored out of his mind. Note that this was a song that moved ''[[HairTriggerTemper Eva]]'' to tears.
* TheLancer: He is the only one on the team able to see through Alejandro and has secretly opposed him since Day 1. In "I See London ..." he steps out of his usual laid-back persona and takes up the leadership role in Alejandro's absence. [[FightingTheLancer Though that ends up with him being targeted by Alejandro and getting eliminated that very episode.]]
* LazyBum: In the first season. He refuses to help his team and his bio states his favourite hobbies are sitting, laying down and occasionally leaning.
* LittleGuyBigBuddy: With Owen in ''World Tour'', whom he literally calls "Big Buddy".
* TheLoad: In the first season, Noah contributed nothing to his team. Thankfully he learns from his past experience and proves much more willing to help in season three.
* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: In "I See London...", he falls several hundred feet from the jet, smashes face-first into a bus, and then gets crushed by the 296-pound Owen. Once Owen (who is unhurt) recovers from shock, the following exchange occurs:
--> '''Owen:''' Well! That wasn't so bad, was it Noah?\\
'''Noah:''' ''(twitches a visibly broken arm)'' Mhm.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Feminine Boy to both Eva and Izzy's Masculine Girl.
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: According to his bio, he's the youngest of nine.
* MeaningfulName: Possibly just a coincidence, but given how lazy he is, it's fitting that his name means "rest."
* MyBrainIsBig: Downplayed. His defining character trait is his intelligence, and he has a [[ForeheadOfDoom very large forehead]].
* NeverMyFault: During his stay in the Playa Des Losers in ''Island'', Noah seems to believe he was eliminated because he wasn't "bossy, manipulative or dangerous enough", and not because he spent most of his time [[DeadpanSnarker snarking]] and [[TheLoad refusing to help his team during the dodgeball challenge]].
* NiceMeanAndInbetween: Of every generation's OnlySaneMan, he's the self-absorbed, anti-social DeadpanSnarker who TookALevelInKindness in-between to Mike's nice and Dave's mean.
* NonActionSnarker: Noah might be the king of this trope, to the point where he was eliminated very early in season one just because he wouldn't play dodgeball. Fortunately, he becomes far more active in World Tour but retains his signature snarker nature.
* NotSoStoic: He's a lot more expressive during ''Action'' and ''World Tour'' than he was during ''Island'', one example being his response to the music chime going off after everyone falls off the jet in "Super Happy Crazy Fun Time Japan".
--> '''Noah:''' Seriously!? I mean, ''seriously!?''
* OddFriendship: With Owen, Izzy, and Eva.
* OutOfFocus: During the first two seasons and again after ''World Tour'' before returning for ''The Ridonculous Race'', where he becomes [[SpotlightStealingSquad one of the more focused-on characters]].
* PerpetualFrowner: Frowns for the duration of almost every episode he appears in (unless if he is actually amused or is having fun).
* PlotAllergy: Noah greets Chris when he arrives on Wawanakwa Island in "[[Recap/TotalDramaNotSoHappyCampersPartOne Not So Happy Campers - Part 1]]" by inquiring if he got his memo about his life-threatening allergies. With the exception of an allergy to panda dander in "[[Recap/TotalDramaSuperCrazyHappyFunTimeInJapan Super Crazy Happy Fun Time in Japan]]", none of these allergies play a role in the story and the line seems to establish Noah as uptight.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Owen and Izzy's red.
* SarcasticDevotee: In ''World Tour'' his sarcasm towards his team is at all time high but he remains firmly loyal.
* ShipperOnDeck: He supports Tyler/Lindsay and, ironically enough, Cody/Gwen.
* SillyRabbitCynicismIsForLosers: One of the reasons he's voted off early in ''Island''; being a cynic while not contributing to physically-challenging events doesn't gain his teammates' support.
* TheSlacker: He has a habit of working hard to get out of doing anything that requires effort. It is the very reason for his elimination in "Dodgebrawl".
* SleepSquashing: Happens to him in "[[Recap/TotalDramaBroadwayBaby Broadway, Baby!]]" when Owen falls asleep on him all night.
* TheSmartGuy: On Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot.
* SmugSnake: A rare non-villainous example in ''Island'', he's a sarcastic, disdainful and snobbish intellectual who believed he's too self-important to play something childish like dodgeball.
* TheSnarkKnight: His only distinctive trait in season one. After three seasons, Noah's fleshed out more but is still definitely a snarker when he wants to be.
* SoreLoser: In Island, Noah can't comprehend why everyone voted him out and throws a small tantrum afterwards. At Playa Del Losers, he STILL blames ExecutiveMeddling and a 'lack of team spirit' for his elimination.
* TheStoic: He had a very limited emotional range in ''Island''.
%%* StraightMan: To Owen in ''World Tour''.
* StrongGirlSmartGuy: Smart Guy to both Eva and Izzy's Strong Girl.
* TeenGenius: Noah's online bio reveals he has an IQ of 180.
* TookALevelInKindness: While still as sarcastic as ever, Noah is more social in season three than he was in season one, making friends with both Izzy and Owen and is now puts more effort in competing in challenges.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Has shades of this with Izzy.
* VocalEvolution: His voice gets much lower and deeper as the competition progresses.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: In ''Island'', to an extent. He was the third contestant voted off, and only ever spoke in half of the four episodes he was a contestant. He gets far more extensive CharacterDevelopment in ''World Tour''.

Outgoing, enthusiastic, optimistic, and none-too-clever, Owen's girth and appetite are only rivaled in size by his heart. He came to ''Total Drama'' just to have a fun time and make friends with everyone. Just steer clear of his butt after he's had beans though.

For tropes from his time on the Ridonculous Race [[Characters/TotalDramaPresentsTheRidonculousRace go here.]]
----
* AchievementsInIgnorance: In "Monster Cash", Chris sets up a challenge where the contestants have to search through a buffet of fake food in order to find a key. Before he can even finish explaining it, however, Owen devours all of the fake food on the table and then burps out the key.
* {{Acrofatic}}: Usually played straight, but sometimes averted [[StrongAsTheyNeedToBe as per]] RuleOfFunny. For example, he was out of breath ''before'' trying to run away from the monster in the premiere of ''Action'', and it took him ten-and-a-half hours to run three city blocks.
* AllLovingHero: There is not a single character that he has directly come to blows with. Though ironically he always seems to end up at the top of every antagonists' hit-list. The closest he got to showing hostility towards someone was when he admitted that Heather was mean and when he forfeited the handcuff challenge with Heather after Heather insulted Izzy.
* AmbiguouslyBi: He dated Izzy but is also affected by [[EvenTheGuysWantHim Justin's powers]].
-->'''Owen:''' There are two syllables for hot: "Jus" and "Tin." That guy is so hot I could kiss him... [[BlatantLies because he's a good team member.]] Doh, why'd I say that?
* AnimalsHateHim: Inexplicably, if Owen encounters an animal--''any'' animal--it will almost certainly maul him.
* ArchEnemy: To Alejandro. While initially it is a one-sided [[UnknownRival Unknown Rivalry]] on Alejandro's side, eventually Owen would learn the truth about Alejandro's vileness and the Spaniard would become one of the few characters to earn Owen's ire.
* ArtShift: Into a crude children's crayon drawing style whenever he tells a story, and during his musical number in "Jamaica Me Sweat".
* BackForTheFinale: Though he does not compete, Owen makes an appearance in the ''All-Stars'' season finale, his farts fully loaded.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: In "Jamaica Me Sweat" he states his intentions to break up with Izzy, one plane to the head and one jolt of hyper-intelligence later, Izzy is airlifted away by the army and ''she'' breaks up with ''him''; in the episode's song, Owen sings about how much he misses Izzy and regrets this outcome. [[TearJerker It's sadder than it sounds.]]
* BerserkButton:
** Don't make him hungry. [[ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk You wouldn't like him when he's hungry.]]
** And don't insult Izzy in front of him, either.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: It takes ''a lot'' to make Owen angry; however, when he does, beware. Heather found this out the hard way after she insulted Izzy one too many times in "Trial by Tri-Armed Triathlon".
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Owen is a definite goofball, but when he's motivated (especially by food), he can become quite effective.
* BigEater: He inhales food like air, and always wants seconds, maybe even fifths. According to himself, he weighs 296 pounds.
-->'''Owen:''' My mom says I eat when I'm upset. And happy. And tired. Not to mention bored, gassy, morose, joyous, comatose, semi-conscious, avuncular... ''[[RuleOfFunny (suddenly grows a mustache)]]'' Hehe. Avuncular.
* BigFun: Easily one of the most excitable characters among the first generation.
* TheBigGuy: Owen clearly has girth to spare, but his size also provides him with surprisingly impressive strength.
* BromanticFoil: To Noah. In contrast with Noah is snarky, cynical, and indifferent about everything, Owen is a happy, go-lucky, lovable goofball.
* ButtMonkey: The walking fat joke. He's a clumsy, dumb, overweight glutton that gets a consistent amount in the show for 3 straight seasons. In ''Island'', he has fallen off a cliff several times, impaled his foot on a rake, been stung by swarms of hornets multiple times in the same episode, and in general has had ridiculously bad luck, even more so than the rest of the cast.
* CannotKeepASecret: He's prone to blurting out secrets when stressed, such as telling Gwen about the Guys' Alliance in ''Island'' or shouting to Team Amazon that he, Duncan and Alejandro were building a boat in "Sweden Sour".
* CatchPhrase:
** "You gonna finish that?"
** "Awesome!"
** "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIEEEE!!!!!", or some variant of it, whenever someone is in any remote kind of danger, even when the danger is clearly just imaginary.
* ClassicalAntiHero: Your typical loser who desperately tries and fails to be awesome. Always PlayedForLaughs.
* CloudCuckooLander: His thought process is very unusual, often performing spontaneous, bizarre antics like getting naked and dancing.
* CompanionCube: Probably in a reference to Wilson from ''Film/CastAway'', he creates one out of a coconut after being separated from the other campers during a flood. The coconut gets voted off at the end of the episode.
* CovertPervert: In one episode where the characters are wearing bath towels, he can be seen looking at Lindsay's cleavage and enjoying what he sees.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass:
** Despite being a FatComicRelief and TheLoad at times, Owen can be surprisingly effective at times and lasted long in the three seasons he's competed in, usually by sheer dumb luck.
** His BigEater tendencies come in handy for the ''many'' food related challenges, especially when it comes to disgusting food which he will excel at.
** "Dodgebrawl" shows him to be ''extremely'' good at dodgeball, eliminating most of the opposition and ended up being the last player standing on his team.
* DefiantToTheEnd: [[BadassUnintentional Pulls this off completely by accident]] in World Tour, even when Alejandro is able to get him eliminated he manages to [[HumiliationConga annoy the crap out of him his entire way down.]]
* DemotedToExtra: The only overall consistent main character of the original three seasons to not even compete in ''All Stars''; he only has a cameo in the finale.
* DependingOnTheWriter: His opinion on Chef's cooking varies from episode to episode. Sometimes he's the only one who likes it. Sometimes, he finds it just as disgusting as the other contestants.
* DidIJustSayThatOutLoud: Happens frequently, [[LooseLips and at the most inconvenient times.]]
* DirtyCoward: When he and Izzy were confronted by the psycho killer (actually Chef in disguise) in "Hook, Line, and Screamer", Owen threw Izzy at him and then fled.
* TheDitz: He's a few sandwiches short of a picnic most of the time.
* DubNameChange: In the Canadian French dub, his name is changed to "Gontran".
* DumbBlonde: Owen is perfectly capable of rational thinking, but he is also very... simple.
* DumbIsGood: He is simultaneously one of the nicest and dumbest boys on the show.
* EasilyForgiven: After Owen's elimination in ''Action'', no one appears to be mad about him helping Chris sabotage the contestants, nor is it ever mentioned again. Not even by Harold who was directly eliminated because of his meddling.
* EnfantTerrible: His rapid-fire confessions in "TDA Aftermath III" reveals that he was quite a troublemaker in his younger years.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite his ability to eat nearly anything, even he was grossed out when he had to drink shots of blended cockroach juice for a tiebreaker challenge in "Brunch of Disgustingness". He managed to drink more than Leshawna did but immediately fainted afterwards. In the first challenge, he was immediately horrified that the whole plate of beef meatballs he ate were [[ShareTheMalePain literal meatballs]], so he immediately pukes it all out.
* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: He's an AllLovingHero to everyone... except Heather. Although he tried to be nice to her until Heather insulted Izzy.
-->'''Owen:''' ''(in the confessional)'' Mom always says if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. In which case Heather would say NOTHING EVER!! She's the meanest, the nastiest, the biggest...''([[CensoredForComedy long bleep]])''...in all of Kalamazoo! ''(camera zooms out to [[ImStandingRightHere show Heather in the confessional with him]])'' ...No offense.
-->'''Heather:''' None taken. [[VillainRespect I sort of respect you for it.]] ''({{beat}})'' Never do it again.
* {{Expy}}: Of Series/{{Survivor}} contestant, Richard Hatch, who like Owen had weight problems, displayed homosexual tendencies, often walked around naked, went through financial troubles, and won the very first season.
* ExtremeOmnivore: He'll eat almost anything, dead or organic. He'll also eat anything that remotely ''looks'' like food, which ends up giving him some extreme constipation after he ate an entire fake buffet made out of sawdust, plastic, and foam-core. In "I Triple Dog Dare You!", Heather even admitted that Owen's ability not to be disgusted by anything edible was his biggest strength. [[spoiler: When he returns in season 2 episode 7 of 2023 as a guest judge, he casually admits he'd be fine eating Chris, and doesn't flinch when he learns one of the cakes was made with Ripper's armpit sweat.]] This is lampshaded by Heather a few times.
--> '''Heather:''' I think Owen's taste buds packed up and moved to France years ago.
* FailedASpotCheck: In "Monster Cash", he devours an entire buffet of fake food made from foam core, silicone, and wax, somehow without noticing that none of it tastes even remotely like food. His only comment afterwards is, "The turkey was a bit... ''(burp)'' ...dry."
%%* FatAndSkinny: The fat to Gwen, the other finalist in Season 1.
* FanDisservice: Owen gets naked ''a lot''.
* {{Fartillery}}: In "Sweden Sour", when his team is out of ammo, he decides to launch powered by his stored-up flatulence.
* FasterThanTheyLook: He appears to be a nonathletic, sluggish, fat boy, and in most cases this is true. However, if you present food to him a distance away, he can outrun anyone in between him and said meal.
* FatBestFriend: Type C towards Noah.
* FatComicRelief: He's both a BigEater and a {{Gasshole}}, which are his main sources of humor, as well as being a very prominent PluckyComicRelief character in the series.
* FatIdiot: He's one of the heaviest contestants on the show, with an IQ on the opposite end of the spectrum.
* FollowYourNose: His sense of smell is very sharp, but only when detecting food.
* FoodAsBribe: Happened in ''Island''. As Heather proves, manipulating Owen is [[{{Pun}} a piece of cake]]. Literally.
* FunPersonified: Owen doesn't care if he wins the prize, all he wants is to have the best time ever and make as many friends as possible.
* {{Gasshole}}: Infamously so among his fellow competitors. To the point where Noah has, as a result of spending so much time with him, gone and created an "Owen Stink Scale" by the time of ''Ridonculous Race''.
-->'''Owen''': There's a scale?!\\
'''Noah''': Sure. Sushi bars are a 1, onion soup is a 5, spicy burritos go all the way up to 12. Those things can peel the varnish off a locker.\\
'''Owen''': ''(snickers)'' It's true.
* GentleGiant: He's probably the heaviest character overall, and likewise sweet.
* GoMadFromTheIsolation: Played for laughs in "Camp Castaways", when he goes insane after only 11 minutes of being alone at sea in the confessional booth and starts treating a coconut like it's alive.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Being mean makes him feel uncomfortable.
* HeroesLoveDogs: He owns a dog, as he mentions in "I Triple Dog Dare You!".
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Noah as of ''World Tour''. They're even teamed up in ''The Ridonculous Race''.
* HiddenDepths: Owen might not look it, but he does have surprising talents.
** He is surprisingly competent in the dodgeball challenge, during "Dodgebrawl", where he singlehandedly takes out all of the opposition when angered.
--->'''Owen:''' Great Gatsby, that is it! [[PreAssKickingOneLiner GAME ON!]]
** Despite being a very fictional storyteller, to his own detriment, when he mentions his grandfather taught him how to fish, he actually meant it, and by the looks of it, he managed to catch enough fish for his entire team without any proper fishing gear, so all those talks about wilderness survival skills ''actually'' have merit.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: The Huge Guy to Izzy's Tiny Girl. While the height difference isn't that big, Izzy is rather thin, while Owen is very fat.
* IconicItem: Mr. Coconut.
* InappropriateHunger: When Owen gets hungry, it will be all that's on his mind, even while in the middle of a challenge. In "If You Can't Take The Heat..." he ate an entire plate of ribs that his team was supposed to serve to Chris as part of a three-course meal, causing them to lose.
* TheJuggernaut: Never, ever get in between Owen and food, lest you find yourself accidentally trampled.
* {{Keet}}: He's a much larger version of this.
* {{Kevlard}}: His massive girth makes him practically impossible to hurt or take down with physical force. In "Who Can You Trust?" he takes several hits from Leshawna's misaimed apples without a scratch, and in "Greece's Pieces", Cody tries to tackle him during the wrestling challenge but just bounces off his stomach.
* KidAppealCharacter: Younger fans adore him, and the creators know it.
* KindheartedSimpleton: He can rival Lindsay as the kindest, but dumbest camper among the first generation.
* TheKlutz: One of the character's biggest traits is his over-the-top clumsiness though he can occasionally be agile moments, they pale in comparison to his tendency of falling to the ground a lot and getting stuck in a tight space.
* LargeHam: Especially when he's scared.
* LittleGuyBigBuddy: With Noah in ''World Tour''.
* TheLoad: Played with. His girth as well as his insatiable appetite are sometimes a boon, and sometimes they are a burden.
* LovableCoward: He gets frightened often and is easily intimidated, though it is usually depicted in a humorous light. [[DirtyCoward Usually]].
* MadeOfIron: Owen has fallen off more cliffs than anyone else on the show, and doesn't even get a scratch on him. On at least one occasion, he survived after being ''crushed by a plane.''
* ManChild: He was 16 in ''Island'' putting him at a half-way point between this and KiddieKid. However during the unspecified TimeSkip between ''World Tour'' and ''The Ridonculous Race'' and the 15 year TimeSkip between the original series and the reboot [[NotAllowedToGrowUp he still looks, sounds and acts the same]].
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: Why Chris thought he would make a good saboteur in "Action" is anyone's guess.
* TheMole: When he's brought back in season two, he's supposed to give the rest of the cast {{Conflict Ball}}s in exchange for the money to pay off debts from his mom buying a cheese cellar.
* MoralityPet: Probably the closest thing to one for Chris.
%%* NakedPeopleAreFunny: The subject of this trope more than anyone else on the show.
* NiceGuy: Owen is incredibly friendly and affectionate to pretty much everyone he interacts with. Gwen once asks him if "he ever had a bad thought about ''anyone?''"
* NiceMeanAndInbetween:
** Of the three ''Island'' finalists, Owen is the nice to Heather's mean and Gwen's in-between.
** Out of the final three members of Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot, he's the nice to Alejandro's mean and Duncan's in-between.
* NoNeckChump: Owen is a tall, rotund boy whose head at cheek level makes a straight line down to his torso.
* NonGameplayElimination: In ''Action'', he is ejected from the competition by Chris (who had brought him back just to sabotage the others) after being found out as TheMole by the other contestants.
* OddFriendship:
** Him and Noah's, of course, but in general he gets along well with nearly everyone. He and Blaineley develop one in ''World Tour'': he's the only contestant to cheer for her ''Blainerific'' musical number, and they bond over their shared loves of cake and [[{{Gasshole}} farting]] in "Niagara Brawls". When he's eliminated at the end of the episode, [[{{Jerkass}} Blaineley]] actually seems ''sad'' to see him leave.
** Notably, he shares one with Gwen the moody goth girl. Their friendship is one of the few relationships that remain consistent across the first three seasons.
* PerpetualSmiler: Except for a few rare moments, he is usually seen smiling.
* PingPongNaivete: Depending on the episode his intellect ranges from slightly dim-witted to full-blown [[TheDitz ditz]], with the [[SmartBall occasional flash of brilliance in-between]].
--> '''Noah''': So there ''is'' a brain in there. You've been holding out on me.\\
'''Owen''': Holding out? [[ComicallyMissingThePoint I told you I smuggled some wieners off the plane]].
%%* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Noah's blue.
* SanitySlippage: Briefly gets this in "Camp Castaways", to the point everyone votes Mr. Coconut out to prevent it from progressing further.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Has this dynamic with Duncan, being an optimistic NiceGuy to his delinquent JerkWithAHeartOfGold.
* SeriesMascot: The reason he appears on most of the show's promotional material.
* ShooOutTheClowns: Owen, the show's cornerstone of comic relief, does not compete in ''All-Stars'', whose cast largely consists of the series' most serious characters. Even more noticeable as Lindsay, Lightning, Jo, and Sam, who were pretty much pure humor during their time on the season, are the first four booted out.
* SickeninglySweet: This how [[AlphaBitch Heat]][[{{Jerkass}} her]] describes his kind-hearted nature in one episode in season 1.
* {{Sleepwalking}}: Eating beans apparently causes him to sleepwalk. And get naked.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Regarding his wilderness skills. In "The Sucky Outdoors", he claims that he killed a ten-foot-tall bear with a single gunshot. Of course, when the real thing comes, he's not as prepared...
-->'''Heather:''' ''(when the Gophers are hiding in a tree from a bear)'' Hey, Owen! What now?\\
'''Owen:''' How should I know?\\
'''Leshawna:''' Dude, you said you killed a bear!\\
'''Owen:''' I was being theatrical!
* SpotlightStealingSquad: He is one of ''the'' most focused-on contestants in the first three seasons, with him being one of the contenders for TheProtagonist of the first generation alongside Gwen. He is heavily featured in the show's advertising and serves as a SeriesMascot of sorts.
** He only goes OutOfFocus for a short time in ''Action''[[note]]between "One Million Bucks, B.C. and "Get a Clue"[[/note]] and after "Niagara Brawls" in ''World Tour''.
** Owen goes completely OutOfFocus after the first episode of ''Revenge of the Island'', only reappearing for a brief cameo during the ''All Stars''' finale. He gets the spotlight back in ''Ridonculous Race,'' where he competes in a team with Noah.
* StillSucksThumb: After Izzy's button-pushing in "[[Recap/TotalDramaCantHelpFallingInLouvre Can't Help Falling in Louvre]]" makes the Total Drama Jumbo Jet go through several stunts, Owen is left lodged in the overhead storage compartment where he sucks his thumb to calm himself down.
* TanLines: He has a prominent shirt tan.
* TokenGoodTeammate: When his team is down to him, Duncan, and Alejandro in ''World Tour''.
* TooKinkyToTorture: Something he shares with Izzy. In "I Triple-Dog-Dare You!", he voluntarily does some of the more disgusting dares, including eating dog food and re-chewing Harold's chewed gum, just because he's genuinely curious about what they're like.
-->'''Chris:''' ''(as Owen is about to eat a can of dog food)'' Dude, you have two freebies you can use! Better yet, you could dare an opponent...like, say, one without a freebie? ''(looks directly at Heather, who glares at him)''\\
'''Owen:''' It's cool, bro! My dog digs this food! Time to find out what I've been missing! ''(happily devours it as everyone else looks on in horror)'' ...Meaty-tasting! ''(cue a VomitChainReaction by everyone else)''
* UglyGuyHotWife: He and Izzy are both known for [[MsFanservice leaving little]] [[FanDisservice to the imagination.]]
* TheUnreveal: He and Gwen are the only characters whose audition tapes have never been seen.
* UnskilledButStrong: Owen isn't the brightest bulb in the box, but his [[{{Kevlard}} massive girth]] and [[ExtremeOmnivore appetite]] can be highly useful assets in the right situations.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: In "Beach Blanket Bogus", he advises Trent to try and help Gwen get ahead in the game, Trent decides to go about this by throwing his own team's challenges; when Gwen finds out she becomes deeply uncomfortable and breaks up with him.
* VerbalTic: When excited or shocked, he shouts unique exclamatory phrases, such as "Great Canadian cheese!", "For the love of Peter Pumpkin Eater!", and "Alexander the Freakin' Great--!"
* VocalEvolution: Owen's voice was deeper when ''Island'' first started. As the season progressed, it became more high-pitched.
%%* WackyGuy
* WearingAFlagOnYourHead: He wears a maple leaf on his shirt, indicating that the show is made in Canada. According to his bio, it's because he's a Toronto Maple Leafs fan.
* WhatTheHellHero: He got this response from Harold, Beth, and Courtney after he was exposed as Chris's saboteur in ''Action''.
* WideEyedIdealist: He tries to see the good in everyone. [[EveryoneHasStandards Except Heather.]]
--> '''Gwen''': Have you ever had a bad thought about ''anyone''?
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He is terrified of flying. It becomes a major problem in ''World Tour'' where contestants travel by plane, at least for the first few episodes.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness:
** His second elimination in ''Action'' and his elimination in ''World Tour''.
** Chris, quoting the trope, attaches an explosive to his face in ''Revenge of the Island''.

[[folder:Trent]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trent_confessional_brunch_7.png]]

->''"I really feel I made such awesome friends here, it's hard for me to vote anyone off."''

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/ScottMcCord
->'''Label:''' The Cool Guy
->'''Teams:''' Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips
->'''Placements:''' 11th (TDI 2007), 13th (TDA)
->'''Eliminated in:''' [[Recap/TotalDramaSearchAndDoNotDestroy Episode 16]] (TDI 2007), [[Recap/TotalDrama310ToCrazytown Episode 5]] (TDA)

A smooth and handsome young man with a friendly, mild-mannered, and easygoing attitude, Trent is the personification of every teenage girl's dream guy -- complete with guitar skills that only further endear him to the ladies. However, he can be quite neurotic, obsessive, and erratic when under stress.
----
* AbusiveParents: Trent reveals in "[[Recap/TotalDramaBrunchOfDisgustingness Brunch of Disgustingness]]" that his parents used to hold him down and force-feed him broccoli "for his own good". It left such an impact that when his team uses the same tactic during the gross food challenge, Trent mentally reverts to infancy.
* AmicableExes: As of ''World Tour'', he's able to have a polite conversation with his ex-girlfriend Gwen.
* BadassBiker: Trent states that if he wins the prize money, he'd use it to buy a new motorcycle.
* ButtMonkey: Well let's see, the poor guy has suffered a concussion, been poisoned, put in a full body cast after falling out of a plane, landed on a fence post [[GroinAttack crotch first]], suffers a mental breakdown [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and Gwen breaks up with him]]. All of this is PlayedForLaughs.
* ChickMagnet: Aside from Gwen, Lindsay and Beth also seem to be interested in him during ''Island'', and after the break-up Katie and Sadie quickly start fighting over him. He also notes that he's "met a ton of chicks" since the relationship ended.
* CompressedVice: His obsession with the number nine in season two. Harold claims that Trent ''always'' had it, even though it was never even hinted at in season one.
* CoolKidAndLoserFriendship: He and Justin are the losers to Cody and Harold's losers in "The Drama Brothers".
* CrazyJealousGuy: In season two, he becomes jealous of Duncan upon seeing how well Gwen gets along with him.
* DecoyProtagonist: In ''Action'', he's heavily focused on, with a major arc being his relationship issues with Gwen... until he ends up eliminated in the fifth episode.
* DemotedToExtra: By ''World Tour,'' where he only appears in the Aftermath episodes in minor roles. His last appearance to date was a non-speaking cameo in the first episode of ''Revenge of the Island''.
* DemotedToSatelliteLoveInterest: By ''Action'', Trent has pretty much lost any individual characterization, outside of being Gwen's ex. Even with his brief appearances in the Celebrity Manhunt special and ''World Tour'', he's mainly just there as [[ChickMagnet eye-candy for other girls]].
* DerailingLoveInterests: Through a sudden, nine-centric obsession, he becomes obsessed with Gwen to the point that it pushes her away, leaving her open for her next romance with Duncan. After the second aftermath he's not as crazy and in future episodes he and Gwen seem happy as {{just friends}}.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He doesn't like broccoli, which his parents forced him to eat as a kid.
* DrearyHalfLiddedEyes: His default expression has half-lidded eyes, showing how relaxed and chill he is. Fittingly, his eyes are fully open more often when he spirals into a CrazyJealousGuy in the second season.
* DubNameChange: In the Canadian French dub, his name is changed to "Loïc."
* EveryoneHasStandards: When Gwen asks Trent to tell Courtney she was just friends with Duncan, he stays silent, too heartbroken from their breakup to defend her.
* EveryoneHatesMimes: He has an intense fear/hatred of mimes. He explains that this is due to a mime following him when he was a kid after being lost from his mother at a carnival.
* EverythingButTheGirl: As a celebrity, he seems to be doing pretty well on his own.
* {{Foil}}: To Courtney. Both of them were major characters in ''Island'' who had major romance arcs with one of the final four, with both being eliminated in the same way. Both of them promptly break up with their respective love interests, with said love interests (Gwen and Duncan) later ending up in a relationship with each other. However, Trent is substantially more considerate of Gwen's feelings and wants her to feel happy, while Courtney is more assertive and demanding in her relationship with Duncan. Both end up with their relationships ending, however, Gwen and Trent remain on good terms after the breakup, Courtney becomes immensely hostile towards Duncan and constantly antagonizes him.
* FourFingeredHands: An odd example: Trent himself has four fingers just like everyone else, but his shirt's handprint actually has five digits rather than four.
* GeneralFailure: During his brief tenure as leader of the Killer Grips, Trent displays poor leadership skills as he spends too much time thinking of his relationship with Gwen to the point he started to sabotage his own team.
* GenericGuy: During the first season, when he didn't have any major faults and was merely a NiceGuy. ''Action'' changes this by giving him an obsession with the number 9 and [[LoveMakesYouCrazy having him go mad out of jealousy]].
%% * TheHeart: For the Screaming Gophers.
* {{Hypocrite}}: In ''World Tour'', Trent calls Duncan an idiot for quitting in the first episode and blowing a chance for a million dollars. This coming from the same guy who threw challenges for his girlfriend's team in the previous season.
* InformedAttribute: According to his bio, he loves motorcycles, dreams of building his own bike shop and wants the prize money to buy his dream bike. We never see evidence of this in the series.
* LaserGuidedKarma: His plan of throwing challenges for Gwen in Action cost him dearly. Gwen breaks up with him because of it, his team finds out about this and votes him out, all the while pressuring Gwen to return the favors she never asked for and giving Gwen a terrible public image for it all. To Trent's credit, he fully accepts the responsibility of his actions and doesn't blame anyone but himself, nor does he want anyone blaming Gwen for it either, which more or less helped restore her public image.
* LeaningOnTheFurniture: Whenever he's shown sitting, he almost always has one foot propped up on the chair.
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: [[SanitySlippage He went crazy]] out of fear that Duncan would steal Gwen away from him. He got better, but only after they broke up.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The sensitive and artistic feminine boy to Gwen's gutsy and fierce masculine girl.
* MrFanservice: Between his smooth voice, cool demeanor, and a choice selection of shirtless scenes, Trent is meant to be the high school dream guy.
* NiceGuy: As long as he isn't stressed out, he's affable towards almost any contestant on the show.
* NumberObsession: In Action, Trent develops an obsession with the number nine. This manifests as him doing everything nine times and forcing his teammates to say his name nine times in a row when they nominate him for a tie-breaking challenge. While Duncan suggests that it's because the number of letters in the names of Trent and his girlfriend Gwen adds up to nine, Trent later reveals that it's because he had a beloved toy train as a child that lost one of its ten wheels.
* OnlySaneMan: Barring his number 9 obsession, he's probably one of the most normal contestants on the show.
* OutOfCharacterMoment:
** Threatening to rearrange Cody's face in "Up the Creek". Granted, he thought Cody was making fun of him at the time, but it was still strange considering how mild-mannered he usually is.
** Breaking up with a girlfriend via text message (from Justin's phone at that) in the ''Action'' special.
* OutOfFocus: Starting with his elimination in ''Action'' and from ''World Tour'' onwards.
* PitbullDatesPuppy: Gwen being the "pitbull" to Trent's "puppy".
* PunnyName: As highlighted in Gwen's ''Island'' biography, Trent's name is supposed to evoke the word "trend". As in, a nonconformist like Gwen isn't known to follow trends.
* SanitySlippage: Undergoes this in ''Action'' when he thinks he's losing Gwen to Duncan: he does everything in nines and eventually starts throwing challenges for Gwen's sake before finally being eliminated.
* SatelliteLoveInterest: Aside from his relationship with Gwen, he doesn't bring much to the show. His role in ''Action'' makes him border on a {{deconstruction}}. When the only reason that he is there (Gwen) seems to be taken away from him, [[LoveMakesYouCrazy well...]]
* SelfFulfillingProphecy: His jealousy over Duncan and Gwen's friendship leads him to become very clingy and insecure around her, driving her away. While she doesn't cheat on him she and Duncan end up getting together afterward.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The sensible sensitive guy to Duncan's rebellious manly man.
* StraightMan: Until ''Action'', where his jealousy of Duncan and obsession with the number 9 rear their ugly heads, he was the most normal person on the Gophers.
%% * StandardizedLeader: On the Killer Grips, before he went nuts.
* StillSucksThumb: Being force-fed something he truly doesn't want to eat makes Trent mentally regress to infancy in "[[Recap/TotalDramaBrunchOfDisgustingness Brunch of Disgustingness]]". He goes back to thumb-sucking in that state.
* TooDumbToLive: In "Who Can You Trust?", he trusts [[TheDitz Lindsay,]] of all people, to cook fugu blowfish for him--a dish that, if not prepared properly, is extremely poisonous and ''has no antidote.'' Somehow, he survives.
* TragicKeepsake: In "[[Recap/TotalDramaAftermathITrentsDescent Aftermath I: Trent's Descent]]", Trent explains that when he was young, his granddad gave him a toy train. One of the wheels fell off shortly before the old man died, leaving the train with an uneven nine. 9 has been his lucky number since to the point of obsession.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: His fear of mimes stems from a childhood incident where he got separated from his mom at a circus.
