* DeadpanSnarker: And oh, can he snark with the best of them, if his video game reviews, various Toonami bumpers, and interactions with Sara are any indication. The TIEs (except Trapped in Hyperspace, Lockdown, and IGPX)? Hell yeah. There is a LOT of Banter.

* ActionHero: Shown in ''[[WesternAnimation/TrappedInHyperspace Trapped In Hyperspace]]''. The GPSS Absolution is going to crash into Earth after it's infected by a sentient virus (Swayzak) who hates everyone onboard's guts. What does TOM do? He has the brilliant idea to hook up to the systems and gets a virtual ship and shoots the crap out of the virus.

* BusCrash: [[spoiler: WesternAnimation/TheIntruder added TOM 4 to his body count before ''WesternAnimation/TheIntruderII'']].

* MysteriousPast: He doesn't put much importance on what he is or where he's from. As far as he's concerned, all that matters is he's cool. [[spoiler: This gets explored more in ''The Forge'', however. As it turns out, [=TOM=] units are made as servants to a species seeking to retake the galaxy using mass-produced robots.]]
* NiceGuy: He’s usually a friendly robot who plays video games and broadcasts anime to the masses.
* KilledOffscreen: [[spoiler: The Intruder killed TOM 4 in-between the character's brief reappearance and ''WesternAnimation/TheIntruderII'']].
* PutOnABus: TOM 4, when Toonami came back. He was HEARD, however, not seen. Well... he was briefly seen on the Absolution 2.5 screens, with words [[spoiler: TOM 4 TRANSMITTING]] on it.

** The Intruder II is no different. When TOM heard that SARA was dismantled, He said that he will make the Intruder pay for it. He did so by destroying the [[spoiler: Absolution MKIII to make sure he wiped out the Intruder]].

* YouAreNumberSix: The [=TOMs=] are designated by their numbers. Overall, there's only been three ''unique'' TOM units: TOM 1, 2 and 4. TOM 3, 3.5, and 5 are all upgrades of TOM 2. [[spoiler: TOM 6 seems to be a mix between TOM 3 and 5.]]
* YouDontLookLikeYou: This was the reaction that TOM 4 received from Toonami's older fans. In hindsight, the shorter and pudgier TOM 1 can also elicit this reaction from those more familiar with the more lean and muscular designs.

* DeathIsCheap: [[spoiler: The Intruder rips out her core in ''The Intruder II''. However, TOM managed to back her up and upload her onto the new base on Planet Shogo 162.]]
* DisneyDeath: As mentioned above, [[spoiler: TOM managed to back her up and upload her onto the new Shogian "base" after the Intruder ripped her core out from the Absolution.]]

* NotQuiteBackToNormal: [[spoiler: After she reconstructs herself from TOM 5's back up and the Planet Shogo 162 base's matrix systems, she mentions that some of her data is still missing and there's new data she doesn't recognize. She uses this data later on to create a new body for herself.]]

* EvilGloating: After [[spoiler: killing Sara ([[DeathIsCheap it doesn't last.]])]], he gloats to TOM about killing [[spoiler: her]], [[spoiler: TOM 4]], and how he plans to kill and assimilate TOM as well.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler: The very ship he used to lure TOM and SARA in ''The Intruder II'' has its engine overloaded and used to kill him.]]

* KickTheDog: [[spoiler: Assimilating SARA's A.I. core just to hurt TOM and even gloating about it.]]

Blaster shots just tickle him and TOM ultimately has to jettison everything it's attached to away from the Absolution, but even that doesn't stop him. * StalkerWithoutACrush: After nearly getting blown to bits and assimilating TOM 1, the Intruder developed both a personality and a murderous obsession with TOM and spent ''15 years'' tracking him down just to make him suffer any way he can, even [[spoiler: killing TOM 4]]. Also, some of the things he says to TOM sound downright stalkerish, and his end goal is to assimilate TOM.

Oh TOM, we share the same consciousness. There's nothing you can do that I won't think of first, and I've been chasing you for far too long to let you go now. [[spoiler: I tracked your other self down on that distant moon where you were hiding and killed him.]] But that wasn't enough. I found a record of a broadcast that led me to you directly. I've absorbed thousands of life forms and never had the trouble I had with you. But that's all over now. Where you headed? The bridge? (''EvilLaugh'') I'll beat you there, TOM.\\

* BoisterousWeakling: [[spoiler: Despite all his bluster and sheer sadism, he's not the best fighter. He has to resort to underhanded tactics to get TOM off guard, and TOM ultimately beats him in a head-to-head brawl.]]

* HeroKiller: [[spoiler: He kills both Clydes and shoots TOM 5 dead -- but thanks to Sara, that last one doesn't stick.]]

* ThrownOutTheAirlock: [[spoiler: He's defeated when TOM jettisons him into space.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler: His smug bravado vanishes the instant he realizes he's losing; once TOM beats the tar out of him in a one-on-one fight, the Commander actually cries.]]

* Cthulhumanoid: Orcelot's head has a mass of tentacles branching out from it, wrapping around his body in various ways. These keep his head anchored to the body he's using, and let him remain mobile when he's destroyed.

* MachineMonotone: When Creator/KidsWB had their own version of Toonami, they included their own version of TOM (based on the TOM 2 model being used at the time)... who oddly spoke like a traditional robot.
