Joseph is responsible for kickstarting Tabitha's escape to Tristain, attempting to use her as an agent and even force her to betray her TrueCompanions and sentence her to death if she failed. To a much wider extent, Joseph is responsible for the the rise of Reconquista in the shadows by helping them and its [[spoiler:true leader and his familiar Sheffield]] to incite wars against Tristain for his plans of [[spoiler:locating the other Void mages]], thereby making him the series' true mastermind. * DrivenToMadness: After taking the potion that was meant for Tabitha/Charlotte, which was perpetrated by Joseph, she became insane and maddened who sees Charlotte's doll Tabitha as her "daughter". [[spoiler:No longer in effect after she was cured.]]

* EnergyAbsorption: One of Derf's powers is absorbing spells. Higher level spells take longer to absorb.

* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Derf is about six thousand years old and initially he looked the part.

* DemotedToExtra: Compared to Season 1, her screentime is slowly reduced season after season. It's quite possible that this is because she eventually loses interest in Saito (to be fair, it's not like Saito reciprocates her feelings... which is only natural if either side of a relationship isn't interested in the person pining after them) and the role of Louise's [[TheRival rival]] is taken by Siesta.

* MsFanservice: In season 2, where she has a scene in a SexySoakedShirt, and in season 4 where she appears in a sexy negligee.

* KarmaHoudini: She never recieves any consequences for abusing Saito, at all... Granted, she does find herself in embarrassing situations, but that isn't really enough to be considered LaserGuidedKarma.

* {{Tsundere}}: Even ''worse'' than Louise. Internally she gushes about the Earl of Burgundy but he never saw her feelings for him. He genuinely thought she hated him.

Cattleya is Louise's second sister. She believes Louise has potential, and that she is a wonderful girl. More than anything, she longs for Louise's happiness, and is fine with the fact that Louise has feelings for a peasant. She is a kindhearted person, and helped Louise escape from her house to go back to the Academy. She knows Louise well, and could easily tell that Louise was in love with Saito, even when Louise denied it. Although Cattleya is older than Louise, she isn't married due to the fact she is ill. Cattleya is an Earth mage.
