Mutant creatures that were created by Dr. Nefarious in an attempt at wiping out all life on Rilgar. They were released in its capital of Blackwater City, but beat back by the Extermibots and Captain Qwark, and later Ratchet. They now reside in the Aquatos Sewers, going "Blagh!" to their heart's content.

* AbsurdlySpaciousSewer: Their natural environment, such as the sewers of Aquatos or Rilgar.
* AsteroidsMonster: Their main gameplay gimmick--defeating a larger Amoeboid will result in two smaller ones being spawned from it. Repeat until the eventual Amoeboids are small enough to squash.
* BlobMonster: They seem to be actually made of sewage.
* KillItWithWater: They instantly die upon contact with water, as seen in the sewers of Black Water City (in the section with the water filling the sewers) and Jowai Resort (where a group of them can be found next to a body of water and the small and medium sized versions can be knocked in depending on the way the big ones are hit).
* MeaningfulName: Akin to actual amoebae and how they reproduce via cellular mitosis, these creatures split into two separate organisms when defeated.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Their eyes are changed to red in the 2016 re-imagining.

An aggressive and oddly amphibian-like race of aliens from the aptly-named Solana planet of Tyhrranosis, and a common enemy type in ''Up Your Arsenal'', having been hired by Dr. Nefarious as extra fighting forces for his personal army.

* FantasticRankSystem: A Thyrranoid's size, strength, and military rank are all directly proportional to the number of eye stalks they have.

* BizarreSexualDimorphism: Both male lombax characters have had smooth tails with lion-like tufts on the ends. Female lombaxes either lack tails (as seen with Angela Cross) or, based on Rivet in ''Rift Apart', have bushy, ringed raccoon-like tails.

However, years before Ratchet and Clank's first meeting, the hard majority of the Lombax race ''also'' disappeared from the cosmos as a result of the actions of Percival Tachyon, a remaining Cragmite who enacted revenge on them for seemingly wiping out his species during the Great War. As of ''Into the Nexus'', only two named ones are still alive: Angela Cross and Ratchet himself.
