Main Characters
Miyavi
Miyavi/Ryuuji Ishihara
- Played by: Miyavi"Pardon me for being an arrogant ass, but...I'm pretty amazing, too."
Miyavi is a Visual Kei superstar, stuck in 1984 Osaka and trying to figure out his true desire—soccer, or music.
Tropes Miyavi provides includes:
- A Little Something We Call "Rock and Roll": Brings his signature style to 1984, and into his band with Shini.
- Ambiguously Gay: He makes out with Shini on stage, sounds like he's flirting with Shini when he meets him, critiques others' fashion, wears makeup, and gives Shinni a very effeminate makeover, all while seeming very disinterested with the Female Gaze that seems to accompany him wherever (and whatever time period) he goes to.
- He does however tell Ryuu that he has a lot of girlfriends, so it may be a case of Ambiguously Bi or Camp Straight.
- As Himself
- Big Eater: After the show, he, Kaori, Fujiko and Shinni are at a diner, where the only person eating is Miyavi...who has about five plates of food in front of him, and is shoveling all of it into his face while the others watch in a mix of disgust and fascination.
- Cassandra Truth: Miyavi constantly tells Shini, Fujiko and Kaori that he's from the future, and they laugh it off as one of his quirks. By the end of the film, Shinni and Fujiko believe him.
- Cloudcuckoolander: As he is in real life, so Miyavi is in this film.
- Fish out of Temporal Water: The residents of Konohana are more or less convinced he's a whackjob because of his clothing, mannerisms, and overall behavior.
- Hidden Depths: Immediately plays this up when he sees Shini advertising to start a band.
- Really Gets Around: Claims this.
- Rip Van Winkle: Inverted. He wakes up twenty years in the past.
- The Rock Star: It's Miyavi, after all.
- Smoking Is Cool: Miyavi always has a cigarette in his mouth or is playing with one. It's never lit, but it's there.
Ryuu
Ryuuji Ishihara
- Played by: Matsushima Ryouta"Pinky promise?"
An eight year old boy from Osaka with dreams of becoming a professional soccer player.
Tropes Ryuu provides include:
- Adorably Precocious Child
- Cheerful Child
- My Future Self and Me: He's the eight year old Miyavi. He doesn't know, however, that his newfound friend is himself from the future.
- Satellite Character: Aside from his love of soccer and the fact that he's Child!Miyavi, he doesn't get much character development.
Shini
Shini
- Played by: Hassei Takano"I'm witnessing a master guitarist!"
An aspiring rock musician, and the 1984 best friend of Miyavi.
Shini provides the following tropes:
- Ambiguously Bi: He doesn't rebuff Miyavi's more...flirtatious behaviors, nor does he shy away from the on stage kiss he plants on him.
- Big Damn Kiss: With Miyavi, of all people, in front of a lot of people.
- Bromance: With Miyavi.
- Finger Gun: Does this to Miyavi when he goes back to 2004.
- Makeover Montage: The victim of one.
- Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold: Doesn't seem to have any friends outside Fujiko or Kaori, is the stereotypical 80s rock fan, but willingly takes in a strange man without asking for any sort of pay back and grows to view him as a best friend.
- The Rock Star: Miyavi grooms him into one by the end of the film.
- Satellite Character
Other Characters
