     Shane's Family

Jason Calston

Jason is Shane's father, and at once it's obvious where he ah, gets it from. Jason had Shane at a young age, and still managed to succeed his father and lead the Calston Defense Company. Jason seems like a Brainless Beauty at a first glance, but he's aptly ready to demonstrate this is merely Obfuscating Stupidity.

  • Bumbling Dad: Jason acts more like one of Shane's "bros" at school than a proper father, though there is again the invocation of a "mask" here. He's definitely not as harmless as he seems.
  • Dumb Jock: Subverted—like father, like son.
  • Hired Guns: What Calston Defense is.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Jason is...well, most of the class has dads. Shane has a daddy.
  • Murder, Inc.: Jason runs Calston Defense Company as a bodyguard / foreign affairs / assassination service, where the United States employs them to deal with "problematic" foreign targets. In his intro he was killing off a group of Ukrainean Separatists, and refers to murdering Al-Qaeda militants in his spare time.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: Like his son, he is a Skinwalker.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: That dictator's son was involved in some disturbing things - ergo Jason was called in to make him shuffle off the mortal coil. He did this by turning into a gigantic wolf, and chewing the guy's head off.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Downplayed, but he walks around with his shirt only half-buttoned up. All the better to show off a rippling physique.

Elric Duchayne

An elderly butler, long suffering, and dealing with the eccentricities of the family, he is nonetheless a faithful and dutiful servant of the Calston Family. He is also a former Demon Slayer, and er, involved with Mikael's grandfather... in more ways than one.

  • Cruel Mercy: He can nonlethally use his wires. The people he uses them on nonlethally may not find it painless.
  • Expy: From the wires to the profession, he's Walter C. Dornez. Ironically enough though, it's his former partner who became a Demon, not him.

     Alice Hirschbaum

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Zach gets his sunny disposition and burning optimism from his mother. The epitome of "bubbly" and "loving", Alice is friends to nearly everyone she meets and rarely an enemy to anyone. Her passions include baking and cooking, sewing and watching her stories. When her husband got put on disability leave, she took it upon herself to work as many jobs as she could to provide for her family, including, at the moment, a Cashier at the local grocery store, a receptionist at a salon and a baker at the bakery.

     Robert Hirschbaum

If there was anyone more opposite of Alice, it's Robert. The epitome of Southern Trash, he once upon a time was a firefighter that got hurt and was put on disability leave. Rather than use this time to get better and spend time with his family, he instead chose to use this time to get drunk during half the day, and spend the rest of the day viciously beating his wife and son. He had a wicked hatred for the Super Hero community, deciding that that would be what's causing all of his strife on his family: The Superheroes taking jobs from hardworking people like him. Finally, in a moment of utter abhorrence, justifying that "without the little fucking brat, we wouldn't be struggling for money" (the irony long since lost to him), he sold his own eight year old son to the Order of the Well for some quick money and well, the rest is history.
