!!Kamen Rider Double

[[caption-width-right:339:''[[{{Catchphrase}} Now, count up your sins!]]'']]

Shotaro Hidari was the protege of the late great HardboiledDetective Soukichi Narumi. Philip is a mysterious boy possessing the True Gaia Memory and gifted with all the world's knowledge inside his head. Together, TheyFightCrime by SharingABody as Double.
----
* AllYourColorsCombined: As its name implies, the Prism Memory enables this.
* AllYourPowersCombined: [[SuperMode CycloneJokerXtreme's]] Prism Bicker combines the power of the Cyclone, Heat, Luna, and Joker or Metal Memories to deliver a very potent Maximum Drive.
* TheBerserker: [=FangJoker=] was this during its first two uses, due to Philip's difficulty in controlling it.
* BizarreAndImprobableBallistics: The [=LunaTrigger=] form fires bullets that do not just home in on the target, but can also travel in curves as Double wants. It might as well be firing bullet-shaped explosive bees...
* BlowYouAway: The Cyclone Memory.
* BodyHorror: Most of Double's Joker-Based finishers involve his body ''splitting in two''. '''Vertically'''.
* BrokenRecord: [[spoiler: The result of Shotaro trying to use a [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Twin Maximum Drive]] the first time around.]]
--->[[spoiler:MAXIMUM DRIVE MAXIMUM DRIVE MAXIMUM DRIVE MAXIMUM DRIVE MAXIMUM DRI-]]
* CallingYourAttacks:
** All of Double's [[FinishingMove Memory Breaks]], as their two halves must be in sync to use one. Shotaro [[InvokedTrope makes up the names himself]], and Philip indulges him to allow his partner some fun. May be justified, as speaking in unison is a good first step to mental synch.
** Averted with [=CycloneJokerXtreme=]'s Memory Breaks. At first.
* CatchPhrase: Shotaro and Philip share not one, not two, but ''three'' of them:
** "We are two detectives in one."
** "We are two Kamen Riders in one."
** "Now, count up your sins!"[[note]]''"Saa, omae no tsumi wo kazoero!"''[[/note]]
* CoolBike: Double's [=HardBoilder=]. And like its owner, it can switch out the back half, forming either the [=HardTurbular=] hoverbike or the [=HardSplasher=] watercraft.
* ElementalPowers: Philip's Gaia Memories allow access to BlowYouAway, PlayingWithFire and {{Lunacy}}.
* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning:
** Episode 8. It's not called Heaven's Tornado for nothing.
** [=FangJoker=]'s rider kick.
** [=CycloneMetal's=] FinishingMove.
* ExplosiveOverclocking: Episode 27/28's Twin Maximum Drive. The effects of one person alone trying it makes its usage take on shades of HeroicRROD as well.
* FinishingMove: Several, all called Maximum Drives or Memory Breaks.
** Joker Forms: With the exception of [=FangJoker=], forms using the Joker Memory involve Double's [[DetachmentCombat body separating]].
*** [=CycloneJoker=]: ''Joker Extreme''[[note]]Double splits in half, then the Joker and Cyclone halves kick the target consecutively.[[/note]]
*** [=HeatJoker=]: ''Joker Grenade''[[note]]Double splits in half and delivers a jumping, flaming punch with the Heat and Joker halves consecutively.[[/note]]
*** [=LunaJoker=]: ''Joker Strange''[[note]]Double splits in half, then the Luna half makes four copies of itself that unleash countless chops on the enemy before the Joker half delivers a powerful karate chop.[[/note]]
*** [=FangJoker=]: ''Fang [[SpellMyNameWithAnS Streiser/Streizer/Strider]]''[[note]]Upon activation, the Fang Blade appears on the right ankle. Double leaps into the air and does a HurricaneKick.[[/note]]
** Metal Forms: All Metal Maximum Drives involve empowering the Metal Shaft with an element.
*** [=CycloneMetal=]: ''Metal Twister''[[note]]Spins the Metal Shaft, [[RazorWind releasing powerful winds to strike at close-range]]. Changes to a pincer attack called ''Metal Stag Break'' when the Stag Phone is attached to the Metal Shaft.[[/note]]
*** [=HeatMetal=]: ''Metal Branding''[[note]]The tips of the Metal Shaft ignite, and Double smashes it into the enemy with an explosion.[[/note]]
*** [=LunaMetal=]: ''Metal Illusion''[[note]]Double spins the Metal Shaft around to produce RingsOfDeath that hit the enemy, then they all converge for one last blow.[[/note]]
** Trigger Forms: All Trigger Maximum Drives involve empowering the Trigger Magnum's shots with an element.
*** [=CycloneTrigger=]: ''Trigger Aerobuster''[[note]]Double fires a series of blasts of pressurized air from the Trigger Magnum. Changes to a powerful condensed shot called ''Trigger Bat Shooting'' when the Bat Shot is attached as a scope to the Trigger Magnum.[[/note]]
*** [=HeatTrigger=]: ''Trigger Explosion''[[note]]The Trigger Magnum fires a laser beam like flame shot, frying the target. When both Memories are used, it changes to ''[=HeatTrigger=] Supernova'' (with the Double Driver repeatedly spouts "'''MAXIMUM DRIVE'''") which is more powerful but makes Double catch fire, seriously injuring Double's body.[[/note]]
*** [=LunaTrigger=]: ''Trigger Full Burst''[[note]][[BeamSpam A massive barrage of homing shots from the Trigger Magnum]]. Changes to a double pincer ray called ''Trigger Stag Burst'' when the Stag Phone Memory Gadget is attached to the gun.[[/note]]
** [=CycloneJokerXtreme=]: This form has a total of five finishing moves.
*** ''Double Xtreme'': A tornado, larger than the one used by [=CycloneJoker=], lifts Double into the sky and speeds them towards the foe.
*** ''Prism Break'': A slash from the Prism Sword.
*** ''Bicker Charge Break'': A slash from the Prism Sword after being charged up by the Bicker Shield using the Cyclone, Heat, Luna, and Joker Memories.
*** ''Bicker Finallusion'': A laser blast from the Prism Bicker with the Cyclone, Heat, Luna, and Joker Memories. A variation with the Metal Memory replacing the Joker Memory creates a laser shield that protects against powerful attacks.
*** ''Double Prism Xtreme'': A Twin Maximum Drive with the Prism Memory in the Maximum Slot; a bicycle kick.
** [=CycloneJokerGoldXtreme=]: ''Golden Xtreme''[[note]]An enhanced version of the ''Double Xtreme''.[[/note]]
** A couple of other Maximum Drives without names have been performed with the Memory Gadgets.
*** Stag Phone with Heat Memory: Engulfs the Stag Phone in fire.
*** Bat Shot with Luna Memory: Sets off a series of flash bulb bursts that disorient the target.
* FusionDance:
** It's not really two people fusing into one, but more like the soul of one person goes into the other's body. So there's a limp body that needs protecting.
** Played straight when Double's [=CycloneJokerXtreme=] form fuses both Shotaro's and Philip's bodies together.
* GivingSomeoneThePointerFinger: Before the beatdown.
%%* {{The Hero}}
* {{Lunacy}}: The Luna Memory; [[invoked]] WordOfGod gives its power as "Illusions", but it seems that [[GreenLanternRing stretching]] is the primary manifestation of this power. See the main entry for more information.
* IncendiaryExponent: The Heat Memory can ignite [=HeatJoker's=] right fist or the Metal Shaft as [=HeatMetal=] for the Memory Break.
%%* MidSeasonUpgrade: [=FangJoker=].
%%* MultiformBalance
* PlayingWithFire: The Heat Memory.
* PowerGivesYouWings: [=CycloneJokerGoldXtreme=] from TheMovie, which [[MythologyGag bears a resemblance]] to [[Series/KamenRiderBlade Blade's Jack Form]].
* RazorWind: [=CycloneMetal=] can execute these with the Metal Shaft even without using a Memory Break.
* RubberMan: [=LunaJoker=] can stretch his right limbs.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: The Windy Stabilizer, when assuming a form that uses the Cyclone Memory.
* SpotlightStealingSquad:
** The Heat Memory is probably the most used memory of all, not just within the three (four if you count Fang) Philip uses.
** Shotaro prefers the Joker Memory the most.
* ThemeMusicPowerUp: Every time Double transforms.
%%* WeaponOfChoice: Either Shotaro's Gaia Memories or a special Gaia Memory allow access to these.

!!!Shotaro Hidari/Kamen Rider Joker
!!!Portrayed by: Renn Kiriyama (live), Seiji Takaiwa (suit)
[[quoteright:168:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shotarokun_7617.png]]

Shotaro was the protege of the private detective Soukichi Narumi. Upon the events of Begins Night he takes up on his mentor's mantle, solving Dopant cases. His Gaia Memories, featured on the left side of Double, grant Double a weapon or a fighting style. In the second movie, he takes on the mantle of Kamen Rider Joker after Philip is kidnapped, using a Lost Driver and the Joker Memory to transform. [[spoiler:He resumes the mantle of Kamen Rider Joker in the series finale upon Philip's disappearance.]]
----
* ArcWords: "[[HardboiledDetective Hard-boiled]]", what with him being a private detective and all. It makes its way into his bike, the Machine [=HardBoilder=].
* BadassNormal: Aside from having the Double Driver and training in detective work, Shotaro is more or less a normal human being when not Double. [[spoiler:Which is why he can be affected in all manner of negative ways by the attacks of some Dopants such as Old and Terror, which both Philip and Terui can shrug off due to their "unique physiologies", as Shroud puts it.]]
** Carries over into his transformation as Kamen Rider Joker. Not only does he have no special powers or weapons outside of enhanced strength, [[AllThereInTheManual supplementary materials]] show that stats-wise it is in every way weaker than [[JackOfAllStats CycloneJoker]]. Doesn't stop him from kicking all kinds of ass with it.
* BareFistedMonk: When using the Joker Memory in the Lost Driver to become Kamen Rider Joker.
* BerserkButton:
** Don't you dare make anyone cry in his presence. In particular, the sight of someone crying has lead him to threaten Nasca to never make the children of the city cry and also to attempt [[spoiler:a [[strike: potentially lethal]] ''suicidal'' [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Twin Maximum Drive]]]] when Ryu breaks down in tears after [[spoiler:Isaka gives him TheReasonYouSuckSpeech about why he is too weak and pathetic to ever defeat the Weather Dopant]].
** ''Futo Detective'' chapter 1 shows that he's gotten so sick of being called "half-boiled" that ''any'' phrase with the prefix "half-" (like "half-hearted") gets on his nerves.
* CannotSpitItOut: He can't bring himself to tell Akiko about her father's death, nor can he tell a little girl [[spoiler:her father is in fact dead and not Double]]. TheMovie has Akiko finding out anyway, but she still wants Shotaro to openly say it to her. In the Director's Cut of the film, there's a new scene where Shotaro promises to sit down with Akiko and tell her everything about her father after they resolve the issue with the D[[spoiler:ummy]] Dopant.
* CantCatchUp: Shotaro gets this after [[spoiler:Philip's power boost from the Xtreme Memory. He does manage to get better, unlocking their SuperMode in the process]].
* CartwrightCurse: A non-lethal variation, but every single time he shows interest in a woman, she's either the MonsterOfTheWeek or simply doesn't notice.
* ChivalrousPervert: He's going to do ''nearly anything'' for a lady he fancies. Taken to its logical conclusion during the Invisible Dopant arc, wherein Lily Shirogane lands on Shotaro in an, er, compromising pose.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: A common recurring weakness of his, and a major reason others dub him "''Half''-boiled". Once he takes on someone as a client he will put his complete faith and trust in them in order to complete their request, regardless of their nature, which oftentimes has him being used as an accomplice for a crime or makes him look extremely naive in general. This often puts him at odds with the more skeptical Philip, who is able to look up their client's history and knows who they're better off avoiding.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Somewhat implied in the Jewel Dopant arc, where his flashbacks show him repeatedly running away from Jinno back when the latter was a beat cop.
%%* FedoraOfAsskicking
* FinishingMove: As Kamen Rider Joker, Shotaro has two, arguably homages to Series/KamenRiderBlack:
** Joker 1: ''Rider Kick''[[note]]Joker jumps and kicks the Dopant.[[/note]]
** Joker 2: ''Rider Punch''[[note]]Joker delivers a powerful punch.[[/note]]
* TheHeart: It's his good heart that makes Philip ultimately reaffirm their partnership, [[spoiler:even after the events of the Beast arc]]. He also manages to transform Ryu Terui from a rage-powered man who hates Futo to a warrior on the side of love.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Phillip, at least by the end. They even call each other 'partner'.
* {{Homage}}: Kamen Rider Joker from TheMovie is one to Series/KamenRiderBlack, arguably.
* IDoNotLikeGreenEggsAndHam: Shotaro's reaction to the JidaiGeki ShowWithinAShow ''Kaze no Saheiji, Panic Revenger''.
%%* TheKirk
* LargeHam: Look at his facial expressions. ''Look at them.''
* MasterOfNone: As Kamen Rider Joker.
* MeaningfulName: His surname literally means "left", and he's the left side of Double.
* MyGreatestFailure: Sokichi's death, which Shotaro thinks is his fault because he went against direct orders from the boss. Addressed quite directly when the dying Sokichi [[TakeUpMySword passing on his cool hat]]; Shotaro says he's not ready for it, to which Sokichi responds "Then become a man worthy of wearing it." [[spoiler:In the penultimate episode, Shotaro pulls the hat off the wall and wears it when he confronts Kazu, showing that he's finally gotten past the guilt.]]
* PrivateDetective: Almost the HardboiledDetective variety.
* PrivateEyeMonologue: He has a penchant for these and usually ends up saying them out loud when he shouldn't. Every arc usually ends with one.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Phillip's blue
* RunningGag: His "Half-boiled" lifestyle, used to mock his self-proclaimed [[HardboiledDetective hard-boiled]] image.
* SmallNameBigEgo: A mild version; he's somewhat competent, just not as hardboiled as he thinks he is.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Both to [[spoiler:Shroud]]'s plans, initially and later to Ryubee's. Ironically [[spoiler:Shroud]] would end up relying on Shotaro being this to Ryubee, calling him a WildCard. It's not all good, though; this trope does take a dark take when he [[spoiler:screws up his mentor's plan through rescuing Phillip, which eventually cost Narumi his life]].
* TheUnchosenOne:
** In Shroud's eyes. Being physically normal with no resistance to Gaia Memory effects, according to her Shotaro had never been the ideal partner for Philip, and had ''Ryu'' teamed up with Philip instead they could have unlocked Double's full potential as [=CycloneAccelXtreme=]. Nevertheless, being a BadassNormal allows Shotaro to prove more than his worth as ''Philip's chosen partner''.
** Subverted when he learns that T2 Gaia Memories choose their users; He quickly realises the hole blown through his office's roof was the T2 Joker Memory making its way to reach ''him'', promptly finds it crash-landed next to his desk, and acknowledges the fact that his WildCard tendencies had called the Memory to choose him.
* WildCard: Well, he IS Kamen Rider Joker. As it turns out, Shotaro's presence screwed with a LOT of people's plans.

!!!Philip ([[spoiler:Raito Sonozaki]])
!!!Portrayed by: Masaki Suda
[[quoteright:168:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/philipkun_7998.png]]

Philip is a mysterious boy, possessing the True Gaia Memory. He was rescued by Soukichi Narumi and Shotaro during the events of Begins Night. He aids Shotaro in solving Dopant cases by accessing the Gaia Library, allowing him to look up endless amounts of information. This ability also lends itself to his obsession with research. His Gaia Memories, on Double's right, grant him an elemental power, or in [=FangJoker's=] case, an upgrade. [[spoiler: Is kidnapped in TheMovie for NEVER's plans, yet Shotaro rescues him and the two defeat Kamen Rider Eternal. Later, Philip is revealed to have died twelve years prior to the series, being resurrected as an avatar of the Gaia Memory. Due to this and Ryubee initiating the Gaia Impact, which eventually failed, Philip slowly broke down into data, until a transformation into Double would make him disappear forever. However, Wakana eventually learns the truth, sacrificing her own body to provide a way for Philip to regenerate in the recreates Xtreme Memory.]]
----
* AdaptationDyeJob: Has green hair the sequel manga.
* AttractiveBentGender: See DisguisedInDrag below.
* BigEater: Philip will do this for the sake of his research.
* {{Bishonen}}: So much that some people new to the show mistake him for a girl at first. At one point he even dressed as Wakana and even Akiko was bluffed at how convincing he was.
* CatchPhrase: "Fascinating!"[[note]]"Zokuzoku suru ne!"[[/note]], as well as "Bingo!" as a minor one.
* CuteBookworm: Shy? Not exactly. Vulnerable? Depends. Cute and brainy? Definitely. Also [[IncrediblyLamePun doubles]] as BadassBookworm.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Shotaro's red
* DeadlyUpgrade: [=FangJoker=] set Philip's mind on fire at first, despite it taking the protagonists two minutes after its television debut to get proper control over it.
* DisguisedInDrag: Except for his voice, he makes for a ''very convincing'' Wakana. Well, his clothing ''is'' marketed towards women... [[spoiler:It also helps that Philip and Wakana are siblings.]]
* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs: The Fang Memory, made to protect him, has a Velociraptor-like Live Mode, and allows access to the spiny [=FangJoker=] form. Fang also takes the shape of a dinosaur head when connected to the Double Driver.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Philip develops a taste for... vinegar, after Akiko used it a couple of times on him as an all-purpose elixir.
* {{Expy}}: After he was revealed to be [[spoiler:DeadAllAlong who was revived through otherworldly means, he is also one to [[Series/KamenRiderRyuki Yui Kanzaki]]. However, unlike her, [[EarnYourHappyEnding he gets better after he's revived in the final episode]]]].
* GoGoEnslavement: In ''Forever A to Z'', when Phillip got captured by NEVER, they dressed him up in one of their uniforms.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Shotaro, at least by the end. They even call each other "partner"[[note]]"Aibou", a word also often used in ''Series/EngineSentaiGoOnger''[[/note]].
* HeroicRROD: [[spoiler:His body starts to disintegrate after the initial plan for Gaia Impact is ruined.]]
* ImmortalityBeginsAtTwenty: Delusion Diary #11 hints that Philip will forever remain seventeen years old because [[spoiler: he's composed of the Earth's data.]]
* ImprobableHairstyle: Very noticeble in episode 16. His hair looks messy after taking off his motorcycle helmet, but in the next shot it's as perfect as always.
* InstantExpert: Every now and then the data Phillip searches for will stick in his head for a while.
* MeaningfulName: [[spoiler:His real name is ''Raito'' Sonozaki, and he's the ''right'' side of Double]]. His name also references Literature/PhilipMarlowe.
* OfCorpseHesAlive: Whenever his mind is in Double's body, Philip is unconscious, so his lifeless body is a sitting duck. In episode 7, nobody tried to interact with them, but Akiko had to make-believe they were napping sweethearts, so as not to draw attention on the bus.

* PhlebotinumBreakdown: [[spoiler:After the failed Gaia Impact, Philip's body is returning to data, hastened by transformation.]]
* PreAssKickingOneLiner: "How thrilling!"
* ScarfOfAsskicking: The Cyclone Memory comes with the iconic scarf, known as the Windy Stabilizer [[AllThereInTheManual according to supplementary materials]].
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His name is spelt as "Philippe" in the aura that surrounds his body when he enters the Gaia Library, but now Toei seems to have gone with Philip.
* TouchedByVorlons: [[spoiler:His encounter with the Xtreme Memory gave him a huge power boost that Shotaro can't keep up with. Not to mention that he died as a child and the "green light" of the True Gaia Memory revived him, along with the ability to access the Gaia Library.]]

[[folder:Akiko Narumi]]
!!Akiko Narumi/Terui | [-Actor: Hikaru Yamamoto-]

Akiko is the Boss's daughter, coming in to replace her father. As Shotaro's landlady she proclaims herself as the Chief of the Narumi Detective Agency, specializing in Dopant cases.

* ArmedLegs: Played for laughs with her slipper.
* BabiesEverAfter: By the events of the [[Series/KamenRiderDrive Chaser special]], she and Ryū have a daughter named Haruna.
* BerserkButton: Akiko will cop to the beautiful part, but she's no middle-schooler!
* BigEater: Can wolf down enormous quantities of sweets
* BigNo: After giving word of her treat to two men [[BigEater whose appetite she knows nothing about]].
* CatchPhrase: "No one told me about this~!"[[note]]''Atashi kiitenai~!''[[/note]]
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: She as actually quite the competent detective, when the chips are down.
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: [[spoiler:Slipper-slaps ''Clay Doll'' Dopant, just after the latter's upgrade process.]]
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:Subverted for a while in Accel's V Cinema. She got better afterwards.]]
* IconicItem: Her slipper.
* TheIdiotFromOsaka: Has shades of this, given her quite black and white view of the world, but she does keep Shotaro focused on the case.
* KansaiRegionalAccent: Akiko refers to herself using the ''uchi-'' pronoun. It does help that her actress Hikaru Yamamoto is from Osaka just like her character.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Even though she's mostly a goofy and earnest girl, some of her father sometimes shines through in her personality. Shotaro even sees her as her father momentarily in Episode 10, where she [[BadassNormal smashes a chair into the Sweets Dopant]] she'd previously been terrified to tears of because it made the mistake of trying to attack her client.
-->'''Akiko''': Don't lay a finger on my client!
* ManicPixieDreamGirl: One that Shotaro doesn't want in his life.
* TheNapoleon: Don't call her a middle-schooler (but she'll gladly be called beautiful).
* OlderThanTheyLook: Shotaro often calls her a middle school student, but Akiko is 20 years old.
* WhenYouComingHomeDad: Her relationship with her father was like this when she was a child, with Akiko becoming upset that he was too busy to visit her, including on her birthday (though she wasn't aware at the time that he was a Kamen Rider.) This almost became a point of contention with her and Ryu during their wedding, afraid that him being a Kamen Rider would keep him away from spending time with her, and during their early married life in the ''Accel V-Cinema'' when it almost did, but thankfully, by the time they have a daughter during the events of ''Series/KamenRiderDrive'', this is completely averted in their daughter's case.
* OfficialCouple: With Ryu.
* ShoeSlap: Akiko's [[PaperFanOfDoom slipper-slap]] acts as a DopeSlap (on Shotaro [[labelnote:*]]not that he's an idiot... he just [[LargeHam tends]] to [[PrivateEyeMonologue sidetrack]].[[/labelnote]]), as a GetAHoldOfYourselfMan (on Philip in episode 4), then finally gets played straight (used on [[spoiler:Wakana as Claydoll Dopant]]).
** In Ep. 14, Shotaro gets payback by hitting her with her own slipper.
** In a more meta example, she combines the slipper slap with PercussiveMaintenance in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsLvr_jo-Zk&fmt=18 music video]] for the opening theme song. The results are bizarre, to say the least.
** Durning her dream in the Nightmare arc, her slipper serves as [=CycloneJoker's=] primary weapon, and she beats the crap out of the Nightmare Dopant with it (or tries to, at least).
** And she manages to outdo herself yet again in episode 40 by slapping Wakana in her Claydoll form [[spoiler:who had just received the Gaia Progressor]].
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Sokichi Narumi/Kamen Rider Skull]]
!!Sokichi Narumi/Kamen Rider Skull (Crystal) | [-Actor: Koji Kikkawa-]

Sokichi Narumi was Shotaro's boss, who taught the young man the trade of a PrivateDetective. During a mission to liberate a young man he dubbed Philip, he was shot to death. The events of ''[[TheMovie Movie Wars 2010]]'' reveal that he was Kamen Rider Skull, while ''Movie Wars CORE'' is a WholeEpisodeFlashback showing him as Skull Crystal ten years before the ''Double'' TV series.

!!! Tropes that apply to him in general
* TheAtoner: He counts up his own sins.
-->'''Sokichi''': [[spoiler:First, I wasn't able to reveal the darkness within a friend who's always close to me. Second, I hesistated for a while in combat. Third, the city cries because of this.]]
* TheCastShowOff: Koji Kikkawa sings his own theme song.
* CoolOldGuy: Well, not THAT old, but you get the point.
* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: Well, "[[spoiler: if Daddy ever touches you again you'll explode]]" probably qualifies for a darn good reason.
* DeathByOriginStory: He dies in the ColdOpen of the first episode.
* FedoraOfAsskicking: He wears one and [[TakeUpMySword passes it on to Shotaro when he dies]]. He also insists that wearing one of these is something one has to be ''worthy'' of.
* HardboiledDetective: So much so that he's inspired Shotaro to try to be one.
* MentorOccupationalHazard: He even gets to die in TheHero's arms.
* NiceHat: A batch of which he apparently passed on to Shotaro.
* NoOntologicalInertia: Possibly the only aversion in all of tokusatsu. For once, defeating the monster does ''not'' remove its curse [[spoiler:so he can never see his daughter again]].
* NotSoStoic: [[spoiler:The Chief is revealed to have a half-boiled side in episode 32.]]
* PosthumousCharacter: He bites it at the very beginning of the first episode, and his character is fleshed out through flashbacks, mostly in the movies.
* [[invoked]] TooCoolToLive: The few times we see him in action, he's everything Shotaro wants to be: smooth, stylish, intelligent, a badass, and a pretty cool Kamen Rider to boot. So of course he died.
* TouchOfDeath: [[spoiler:Thanks to the Spider Dopant, he can never touch Akiko or she will explode - thus explaining his long absence from his daughter's life.]]

!!! Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Skull
%%* BadassBiker: OH YEAH!
* CoolBike: The [=SkullBoilder=], which is an [[PaintItBlack black version]] of the [=HardBoilder=].
* CoolGuns: Skull Magnum.
* FinishingMove:
** ''Skull Punisher''[[note]]A Rider Shooting attack using the Skull Magnum.[[/note]]
** An unnamed Rider Kick executed with the Skull Memory in the Maximum Slot, which creates an energy skull that Soukichi kicks towards the Dopant[[note]]''Ganbaride'' simply calls this move "Hissatsu Kick", while other sources refer to it as 'Skull Banisher'.[[/note]].
*** Not to mention, the Skull summoned by [[Series/KamenRiderDecade Diend Complete Form]] in ''[[Series/KamenRiderDenO Chou Den-O Trilogy: Episode Yellow]]'' performs a Rider Kick that more closely resembles the Joker Extreme.
* {{Homage}}: His design and urban legend nickname are both homages to Shotaro Ishinomori's proto-Kamen Rider ''Manga/SkullMan''.
* NiceHat: He tips his hat when transforming into Skull, and pops it back on, making him one of the only be-hatted Kamen Riders out there.
* SuperPrototype: Skull is the prototype for Double, best illustrated by its being a jack-of-all-trades combination of Shotaro's Memories (melee brawler like Joker, good defense like Metal, TheGunslinger like Trigger).

!Futo Police Department
[[folder:Ryu Terui/Kamen Rider Accel]]
!!Ryu Terui/Kamen Rider Accel
!!!Portrayed by: Minehiro Kinomoto (live), Eitoku (suit)
[[quoteright:168:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryukun_7267.png]]

Ryu Terui is a police superintendent assigned to the Futo Police Department's Paranormal Crime Investigation Division, and is thus Jinno and Makura's superior. His family was murdered by a man with a W memory, giving him a motivation to exact revenge. When he meets up with the enigmatic Shroud, she gives him his gear, allowing him to transform into Kamen Rider Accel.

!!! Tropes that apply to him in general
* AffectionateNickname: Initially because she insisted she was the Chief of the Narumi Detective Agency, Ryu respectfully called Akiko as "Chief". He still calls her that even after they've gotten together and even married with a daughter.
* BabiesEverAfter: His last scene in the Drive Saga V-Cinema has him talking to Akiko on the phone, and the conversation reveals that they have a daughter, Haruna.
* BadassBiker: Let's see: his attire completely fitting of a biker (leather jacket and pants, riding gloves and boots), he rides around on a motorcycle that's not a Rider Machine (and a Ducati at that[[note]]the first European bike to feature in a Rider series since the Gas Gas bikes in ''Series/KamenRiderKuuga'', as well as a break in the recent pattern of Riders owning custom-made bikes from Honda[[/note]]), he has a motorcycle {{Motif}} as a Rider, and he can ''become'' a bike while transformed into Accel.
* BerserkButton: He won't listen to reason once the Weather Dopant comes calling. Learning to rein himself in whenever Weather baits him is part of his CharacterDevelopment.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Flashbacks showed that Ryu's sister was very important to him, and even was the one who gave him the [[MementoMacGuffin necklace]] he wears in the series. One episode arc has him helping out a victim because she resembled his sister to a T.
* CatchPhrase: Four of them.
--> "Don't question me."[[note]]"''Ore ni shitsumon wo suru na."/"Don't ask me questions."[[/note]]
--> "Now, let's break away!"[[note]]"''Saa, furikiru ze!''"/"Now, I'll shake you off!"[[/note]]
--> "Despair awaits you at the finish line."[[note]]"''Zetsubo ga omae no goaru da.''"/"Despair is your goal."[[/note]]
--> "It's time for your despair!"
* CharacterDevelopment: Starts out brash, standoffish and focused entirely on revenge. Over the course of the series he warms up to the cast and ultimately succeeds in letting go of his desire for vengeance, culminating in him [[spoiler:defeating Isaka using the newly gained Accel Trial purely out of a desire to protect an innocent.]]
* CoolBike: Ryu's rad red Ducati 999, Diablossa.
* DeathByOriginStory: One that pays homage [[Series/KamenRiderV3 V3's]]. His entire family was murdered by a Dopant with a "W" Memory that froze them to death, though they lingered long enough to die right in front of him. [[spoiler: The murderer turns out to be Isaka with the "Weather" Memory.]]
* DeathGlare: Enough to unnerve [[Series/KamenRiderDrive Shinnosuke and Gou]]
* DeathSeeker: Ryu becomes one when he finally tracks down Dr. Isaka. Shotaro [[WhatTheHellHero calls him out on it]], and he eventually gets over it.
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:With Akiko during the events of Movie War Core]].
* {{Homage}}: His character design mirrors that of [[Manga/{{Akira}} Kaneda]]. Also, his Rider armor is red and has a monoeye, he holds a high rank despite being young, and is rivals with one who has a W crest... [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Char Aznable]]?
* {{Irony}}: While his Kamen Rider form emphasizes speed, he has the slowest henshin phrase as he says it in a PunctuatedForEmphasis manner.
* LoveRedeems: He believes his love for Akiko helped him overcome his craze for vengeance.
* MeaningfulName: He wears bright red and has fire-themed powers, and his name means 'Dragon Shining-well'.
* OfficialCouple: With Akiko.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: For the Weather Dopant.
* OnlySaneMan: Once he [[CharacterDevelopment gets over]] his dream of vengeance, Ryu is probably the most sensible main character compared to [[LargeHam everybody else]].
* PunctuatedForEmphasis: "Hen... '''''SHIN!'''''"
* TheRival: Ryu initially presents himself as though he'll be one, aided by this being the default relationship of nearly all prior secondary Riders[[note]]Kaixa, Leangle, [=TheBee=], etc.[[/note]], who often would hate and antagonize the main Rider for most if not all of the show. Ryu looks like he'll be the same way, as someone whose moral stance and personality begin fundamentally opposed to Shotaro's, but he undergoes enough CharacterDevelopment in his debut two-parter alone to completely avert the formation of a rivalry. The two instead become genuine friends, setting the new standard for nearly all secondary Riders going forward.
* TranquilFury: How he ends up [[spoiler:ultimately defeating Isaka]].
* TheWorfEffect: Ryu suffers a few beatings to showcase the power of some of the stronger Dopants, most notably in the final act against both the Terror and Utopia Dopants.
* [[invoked]] UnexpectedCharacter: He teams up with [[Series/KamenRiderDrive Shinnosuke and Gō]] in the Drive Saga V-Cinema.

!!! Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Accel
[[quoteright:160:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/accel_755.png]]
* BodyHorror: While the transformations of Gaia Memory-using Riders are complete alterations of their bodies, it's usually not obvious compared to the blatantly inhuman Dopants. Accel's Bike Form, however, requires contorting his body in some rather unsettling ways.
* CoolBike: He can become one himself when he assumes Bike Form. Granted, it's all CGI, but still RuleOfCool.
* CoolSword: Engine Blade. Although it is quite heavy for him to wield when he isn't transforming.
* FinishingMove: Several:
** Accel: ''Accel Glanzer''[[note]]Kamen Rider Accel uses a flying reverse roundhouse kick that uses the wheel half on his right leg to leave a skid-mark like trail.[[/note]]
** Engine: Four variations:
*** ''Dynamic Ace'': The [=EngineBlade=] blasts a giant letter A out of the blade into the enemy.
*** ''A-Slasher'': Accel uses the [=EngineBlade=] to make three slashes in the shape of the letter A, be it a birds eye view or in front of him, to attack.
*** ''Engine Bike Dasher'': Accel transforms into Bike Form and then [[RammingAlwaysWorks drives straight through the target]].
*** (''Unnamed''): Accel spins around while slashing multiple targets before stopping a moment to spin into the opposite direction (still slashing) and then stops again to finish them off with normal slashes.
** Cyclone: Accel performs a wind-powered slash with the [=EngineBlade=].
** [=AccelGunner=]: ''Gunner Full Break''[[note]]Accel in the [=AccelGunner=] fires a blast from its tank-mounted {{BFG}}, the Gaia Cannon, to defeat a Dopant turned giant.[[/note]]
** [=AccelTurbuler=]: ''[=AccelTurbuler=] Phoenix''[[note]]Accel, connected to the Turbuler attachment, bursts into flames and rams through the enemy in midair.[[/note]]
** Trial: ''Machine Gun Spike''[[note]]Accel Trial delivers multiple kicks that burn a giant letter T onto the enemy.[[/note]]
** Trial / Engine: ''Machine Gun Slasher''[[note]]Accel Trial delivers a series of rapid slashes with the [=EngineBlade=] to the enemy.[[/note]]
** [=AccelBooster=] / Engine: ''Boost Slasher''[[note]]The Engine Blade turns into a glowing golden energy blade and Accel slashes through the enemy as he flies through.[[/note]]
* FireIceLightning: Accel's Engine Blade has settings for steam, fire, and lightning, representing three types of engines (Steam, Jet, and Electric).
* FragileSpeedster: Accel Trial loses much of Accel's armor in return for moving at SuperSpeed.
* ItWasAGift: All of his gear was given to him by Shroud.
* JuggleFu: Part of Machine Gun Spike. He starts the Trial Memory's countdown, throws it ahead of him, runs up to his opponent and kicks them an insane amount of times, then catches the Trial Memory on its way down.
* MightyGlacier: Downplayed. Despite having a heavier armor compared to his two future form, Trial and Booster, he wasn't hindered by the restricted mobility and can still move as if he is a LightningBruiser.
* SuperMode: By upgrading the Accel Memory with the [[spoiler: Gaia Memory Enhancer Adapter]], he gained Accel Booster in the process.
* SuperSpeed: Courtesy of Accel Trial.
* ZorroMark: Invoked with one Engine Blade FinishingMove, down to the three-cuts gimmick (marking an A instead of a Z).

[[folder:Detective Mikio Jinno]]
!!Detective Mikio Jinno | [-Actor: Takeshi Nadagi-]

Detective Jinno is a friend of Shotaro's, frequently letting him deal with Dopant cases. He is never seen without his trademark back scratcher.

* ADayInTheLimelight: The Jewel Dopant arc.
* ClearMyName: The subject of episodes 41-42.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: In Kamen Rider W Returns.
* FriendOnTheForce: He's Shotaro's main police contact and the first episode establishes that he regularly "misplaces" intel for the Half-Boiled detective.
* GoodIsDumb: He'll fall for anything (even LookBehindYou), but Shotaro says that it's his strength; Jinno is so earnest that people want to believe he's right, and when he believes that rough characters are actually good deep down, they want to ''be'' good to prove him correct. A prime example of this is Shotaro himself, as shown in flashbacks in the Jewel Dopant arc.
* GratuitousEnglish: Most common user among the cast.
* IconicItem: His back scratcher.
* InspectorLestrade: He seems to be slightly aware that he's not a particularly ''good'' detective at least and mostly relies on Shotaro and Philip's handiwork.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Doesn't even need to be in the action to fill this role in the Jewel Dopant arc.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Makura.

Makura is Detective Jinno's rookie partner, who usually quarrels with Shotaro.

* ButtMonkey: If something bad can happen and he and Jinno are on the scene, it's usually going to happen to Makura.
* CowboyCop: Or at least [[SmallNameBigEgo he likes to think he is]].
* FairWeatherFriend: He's ''very'' quick to write off Jinno as a thief on shaky evidence during the Jewel Dopant arc, acting like such a massive {{Jerkass}} to the point where the Narumi Detective Agency's members [[WhatTheHellHero call him out on it constantly.]]
* IncomingHam: "''Maakurrra [=des'!=]''"; for whenever he follows Jinno (or Ryu) in introducing himself around the crime scenes.
* LargeHam: If he's on the screen, he's overacting.
* LoveMakesYouDumb: He develops a crush on Aya, the transfer agent from the Triceratops Dopant arc. His selfish desire to impress her causes him to endanger the case by running off on leads half-cocked. [[spoiler: It also causes him to fail to notice the signs that she's the Triceratops Dopant.]]
* SitcomArchNemesis: With Shotaro, though definitely not a serious case. Part of this seems to stem from frustration over police detectives like him and Jinno having to rely on a private detective like Shotaro.
* SmallNameBigEgo: ''In spades''.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Jinno.

* AffablyEvil: Somewhat.
* AmbitionIsEvil: Ryubee's ambitions cost him and the rest of his family everything. Some of them even die more than once for his goals.
* BigBad: He's the driving force of the primary antagonists, [[spoiler: but he ends up getting supplanted as the final fight by Jun Kazu.]]

* EmbodimentOfVice: Greed, seen in his lavish lifestyle as king of Fuuto's underworld and the ambitions that tear his family apart.
* EvilLaugh: Not just a habit of Ryubee's, but an integral part of the Terror Dopant's schtick.
* GoOutWithASmile: Ryubee's mind breaks along with the Terror Memory in "What The K Needs", causing him to [[AlasPoorVillain walk back into the Sonozaki mansion as it collapses around him and reminisce about his family in happier times]].
* NiceHat: Has a Headpiece of Doom when in his Dopant form. [[spoiler:It can even turn into [[HeadPet a floating monster the size of a house]]!]]

* StealthHiBye: Capable of these ''without involving Gaia Memories.''
* SupernaturalFearInducer: His Terror Memory's main power, creating fear in others via a fear-inducing ooze that he produces in vast quantities, resembling an oil spill.

* BlackWidow: She's killed most of her fiances and husbands off, [[spoiler:including Kirihiko]].
* CartwrightCurse: Saeko just can't catch a break with her love interests, each of them dying over the course of the series. [[spoiler:Mind, Kirihiko was her fault entirely, but Isaka and Jun were definitely out of her hands]].
* {{Chickification}}: She goes through this after [[spoiler:taking up with Isaka]], though it seems like she's doing it on purpose [[spoiler:to make herself seem more attractive]].
* EmbodimentOfVice: Lust, going through three romantic interests over the course of the show. It's stated that she's gone through many, ''many'' more before them, disposing of her partners once they bore her.
* EnemyMine: Versus [[spoiler:Utopia]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even ''Saeko'' is rather uneasy about [[spoiler:Weather modifying Wakana's Driver to not let her safely transform]].
* EvilGenius: Also a bit of TheDragon, given that she killed off the Boss in the premiere and fights Double at times.
* ManipulativeBitch: [[spoiler: From the very beginning, her "romance" with Kirihiko was an experiment to decipher the Nazca Memory's power by sacrificing her "husband" to it to see how far he could push it until he dies.]]
* MeaningfulName: Saeko means cold child, and she spends the series being cold and antagonistic to Wakana.
** Nevermind how it's ''pronounced''...[[note]]Probably not intentional, but to the ears of English speakers, "Saeko" sounds like "psycho"[[/note]]
* PaletteSwap: After losing the Taboo Memory to Mick and having her Gaia Driver destroyed, she starts to use Kirihiko's Nasca Memory, [[SuperiorSuccessor proving far more compatible with it than Kirihiko ever was.]]
* PyrrhicVictory: [[spoiler:While she manages to survive the downfall of the Museum and Ryubee's death, she loses the Nasca Memory after being defeated by Claydoll Xtreme.]]
* TheStarscream: For most of the first two acts of the series, it was hinted that she had bigger plans for the Memories beyond those of her father. "Beyond R", the conclusion of the second act, shows her and Isaka first plotting to take Ryubee down and then making their move. Isaka didn't survive, and Saeko went on the lam.
* ThickerThanWater: Subverted for the majority of the series; though Saeko doesn't openly hurt her family for the most part, she harbors a ''very'' strong grudge towards Wakana, and she develops similar feelings towards her father in turn. [[spoiler: However, once the family and the Museum is in ruins, and Jun attempts to retrieve Wakana to forcibly restart the Gaia Impact attempt, she gives her life attempting to stop him, making Wakana leave for safety]].
* TheUnfavorite: She views herself as this as being the eldest meant she wasn't allowed to really indulge herself in her own interests. It's not clear if she actually ''is'' though.
* UnholyMatrimony: Marries Kirihiko early in the show, but doesn't love him any more than the various other suitors she's wed and killed. Her romance with Isaka, however, is genuine.

* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: In her first appearance, Wakana wears her hair in a style very similar to her Claydoll Dopant form's head design.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Before she underwent CharacterDevelopment.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy[=/=]MindRape: What [[spoiler:her father]] does to her.
* CatchPhrase: "Why must you anger me?". Also, see VerbalTic below.

* DarkChick: Given that she's the least interested in running the family business... [[spoiler:Until Saeko rebels, and Ryubee promotes Wakana into TheDragon.]]
* DevilInPlainSight: Despite being one of the Museum Dopants she has fans in Shotaro and Philip, who listen to her radio show.
* DrivenToMadness: After her Driver is tampered with by Isaka, she gradually becomes mad. While Wakana adjusts to avoid the impairing effects of this, her personality takes a permanent turn for the worse.
* EmbodimentOfVice: Envy, both in the sense of [[IJustWantToBeNormal wanting to escape her family's obligations]] and her eventual usurpation of the Gaia Library for herself. It's appropriate that her SuperMode comes with [[GreenEyedMonster a whole lot of green light]].
* EvilCostumeSwitch: Before being brainwashed, she used to wear bright-colored clothes. After that, she switches to dark colors.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Following the ''The Radio Q'' arc (Ep. 13&14), Wakana began to regret being involved with the Museum and being the Clay Doll Dopant. Then during the ''The P Game'' arc (Ep. 25&26) she directly attacks her sister due to Isaka's influence. Then in the ''Client X'' arc (Ep. 37&38), she finally is on the cusp of her HeelFaceTurn when ''something'' happens thanks to Ryubee and she becomes completely evil. [[spoiler:Then by the end she gives her life to allow Philip to come back to life]].
* IdolSinger: Gets her own [[invoked]] [[{{Defictionalization}} Defictionalized]] single release with "Naturally".
* MagikarpPower: Clay Doll seems to be the weakest of the Gaia Memories used by Museum, primarily useful for its [[GoodThingYouCanHeal regenerative ability]] and suffering the humiliation of being unable to hit even an untransformed Kirihiko. Claydoll Xtreme, meanwhile, is so monstrously powerful that not once do the Riders ever stand a chance against her.
* OneWingedAngel[=/=]EvilCounterpart: [[spoiler:The Gaia Progressor she gains from her father grants her Claydoll Xtreme form, which is much more powerful and grants Wakana access to the Gaia Library.]]

!!Kirihiko Sonozaki/Nasca Dopant | [-Actor: Yuki Kimisawa-]

Originally named Kirihiko Sudo, he was a promising Gaia Memory salesman who became engaged to Saeko. In his childhood, he designed the famous mascot Futo-kun, based on a windmill. Marrying into her family, he quickly becomes a Museum commander, assisting Saeko in administering the family business. As Nasca he has SuperSpeed, flight, and fencing skills. He's the first Museum member to perish, as his Nasca Memory begins to kill him when he unlocks too much of its power. He makes a final appeal to Saeko to make a HeelFaceTurn with him, and she finishes him off.

* AlasPoorVillain: The ''Farewell N'' arc generates plenty of sympathy for Kirihiko, and ends with his perishing.
* BringMyRedJacket: The cravat that Kirihiko wears has a red mark on it right over his chest. It's practically a bullseye for the attack that eventually kills him.
* TheChewToy: The net movies have him [[ObnoxiousInLaws slapped by his sister in-law]], [[AwfulWeddedLife insulted by his wife]], [[RightHandCat attacked by his family’s pet]], [[KickTheDog assaulted by Jun Kazu]] and [[AntagonisticOffspring blown away by his “son”]]. The one guest who gets along with him is Isaka, due to their shared resentment of Kazu - and [[YankTheDogsChain even Isaka injures him]].
* DeadlyUpgrade: Upon taking the Nasca Memory to Level 2, Kirihiko begins seizing up whenever he tries to use it, and then even when he's not using the Memory, which Ryubee reveals to be the result of his excessive training and poor compatibility with the Nasca Memory leading to one of these. Worse yet, Ryubee and Saeko ''knew'' this would happen to him and gave him the Memory deliberately knowing it would kill him. Judging by the pain he's in, what Saeko does to him might qualify as a MercyKill by comparison.
* TheDragon: During his tenure, Kirihiko is the most active Museum member by far when it comes to engaging Double in direct combat.
* EmbodimentOfVice: Pride, exhibited in his NobleDemon tendencies and his cocksure attitude, even dodging Clay Doll's attacks without transforming at his wedding just to show off the fact that he can.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Kirihiko draws the line at giving a DeadlyUpgrade to kids to see what will happen.
* {{Fanservice}}: He's stark naked (save for his Memory Driver) when he's given the Nasca memory and his ass is in full view of the camera.
* TheMaidenNameDebate: Inverted - he takes Saeko's family name after their marriage because she is his social superior.
* NotSoDifferent: From Shotaro, as they both love Futo.
* TheRival: To Double.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Has ''two'', similar to Series/KamenRiderV3.
* SuperSpeed: Kirihiko's training with the Nasca Memory eventually unlocks this power for him. Unfortunately for him, [[DeadlyUpgrade that training pushed him past the limit of how much of the Memory's power he could handle]].
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler: He was always meant as a sacrificial pawn to test how far he could push Nazca, and only learned this after he began dying from it.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Loves Futo as much as Shotaro does, yet is willing to use Gaia Memories to destroy those who wish it harm.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Saeko showed increasing displeasure over his failure to defeat Double in the form of both verbal and physical abuse. She forgives him for it, but it turns out he'd failed her from the very beginning, and she gave him the Nasca Memory knowing it would kill him.

* CharacterTics: Licking his lips.
* EatTheDog: At the end of episode 28, Isaka thinks about how hungry he is and begins staring at the cat. Fortunately, Mick comes through it unscathed.

* LaserGuidedKarma: [[spoiler:When the Weather Memory ''finally'' breaks, Isaka's Living Connectors kill him from the inside out. Guess that's what he gets for dipping into Gaia Memory research a little ''too'' much...]]
* PowerBornOfMadness: The reason Isaka doesn't believe in the use of Drivers. Incidentally, he's the third strongest Dopant in the series and so completely insane that his own Memory couldn't make him worse.
* SerialKiller: Not only does he murder people to take their Gaia Memories, when he got the Weather Memory, he went on a series of murder sprees simply to test out his various elemental powers. Ryu's family are among his victims.
* TheStarscream: [[spoiler:Has offered to help Saeko overthrow her father and made good on his offer in "Beyond R". He failed.]]

[[folder:Dopants]]

A Dopant is created when a Gaia Memory is inserted into a human body, transforming the user and granting them supernatural powers. Each Gaia Memory contains the culminated knowledge of a single topic extracted from the True Gaia Memory; thus, Gaia Memories can be based on ''anything'' from the history of Earth, from natural phenomena to abstract concepts.

In normal cases, a human requires surgery before they can use a Gaia Memory. A Living Connector is imprinted upon the skin of the user, through which the Gaia Memory can be directly inserted into the body. While this maximises the power of the created Dopant, it carries a significant risk that the Gaia Memory will [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity consume the sanity of the user]] and create [[ThisIsYourBrainOnEvil a strong addiction to its power]].

Gaia Drivers are external mounts that can be used to insert a Gaia Memory without surgery. While this limits the power of the Memory, it removes the negative side-effects. High-ranking members of the Museum equip first-generation Gaia Drivers to transform into Dopants, compensating for the power loss by using extremely powerful "golden" Gaia Memories.

Tropes embodied by the Dopants include:

* AttackReflector: Jewel can do it with energy attacks.
* BadassNormal: Normally Dopants will go mad within a few days to weeks of using their Memory for the first time due to its addictive nature. The Beast Dopant managed to use his Memory for ''ten years'' without suffering any mental issues of note, not even Isaka's heightened megalomania. He's also one of the most powerful Dopants in the series in direct combat, with basically the same powers as Wolverine.
* BattleCouple:
** [[spoiler:Beast and Zone are a husband-and-wife team who robbed an armored car ten years prior to the series.]]
** [[spoiler:Magma and T-Rex]] were a couple who became Dopants together in order to take revenge on their former employer, but then [[spoiler:T-Rex kills Magma when he becomes useless to her because he has been completely taken over by his Memory]].
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Several Dopants look kind and innocent until the truth comes out about their identities, which usually leads them to drop the act.
* CardCarryingVillain: Quite a few Dopant abusers come complete with titles like Mr Question and the Radio Clown, sometimes with a one-shot CatchPhrase or BondOneLiner.
* CompellingVoice: Liar, who as the name implies, can literally make anyone believe anything, so long as it's not the absolute truth.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Quite a few Dopants use their powers for really petty reasons.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Gaia Memory use is paralleled with drug use.
* ElementalPowers: Magma, [=IceAge=], and Energy.
* {{Expy}}:
** Old is pointed out by the characters to be one to Terror, given their "ancient" design and their use of a sort of sludge to attack. Old ends up acting as a trial run of sorts of how the characters intend to go about fighting Terror.
** [=IceAge=] and Triceratops are the first two Dopants Accel faces, compared to Magma and T-Rex, the first two onscreen Dopants Double takes on.
** The Masquerade Dopants could be seen as Expies of the classic Shocker Soldiers, given their skeletal design and status as easily-defeated {{Mooks}}.
* FantasticDrug: Gaia Memories are highly addictive, grant a power high that often brings out the worst in the user's personality, and can wreak havoc on their mind and body with extended use.
* GeneticEngineeringIsTheNewNuke: Gene, for his powers to work, needs biological material but can create ''anything'' from said material. For example, he [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments created a plush cow on Shotaro's right hand with two leaves]] during their first fight.
* TheGunslinger: Arms.
* AnIcePerson: [=IceAge=].
* {{Invisibility}}: Invisible, though notably, Lily Shirogane didn't actually ''become'' a monster of any sort; Dr Isaka modified the Invisible Memory to allow her to use its power without such a change.
* ItsPersonal: Many of the Dopants. Notable are [[spoiler:Puppeteer]], who attacks the literary critics that panned the book he wrote in his daughter's memory; [[spoiler:Magma and T-Rex]], who wanted revenge on their old employer for firing them; and [[spoiler:Yesterday]], who turns out to be [[spoiler:Kirihiko's sister]] and wants to get back at Saeko for [[spoiler:her brother's death]].
* KnightTemplar: At their ''least'' twisted, Dopants end up as these. Triceratops and Commander are standout examples.
* LegacyCharacter: The final episode of the series establishes that multiples of the same Memories ''do'' exist; in this case, Anomalocaris and Cockroach. Another specific example would be [[spoiler:[[Series/KamenRiderDrive Roidmude 077]] becoming the next Beast Dopant]].
* LoveMakesYouCrazy: Oh ''so much''. [[spoiler:T-Rex]] killed her lover [[spoiler:Magma]] because he went crazy, [[spoiler:Triceratops]] wishes to avenge her lover, [[spoiler:Violence]] is Wakana's StalkerWithACrush, [[spoiler:Nightmare]] is jealous to the point of putting his supposed rivals to sleep, [[spoiler:Jewel]] set his unrequited crush up as the culprit [[spoiler:though he was a monster to begin with]]. [[spoiler:Commander is driven by a desire to avenge his dead wife, but unlike Triceratops, who on her own only wanted to kill those who caused his death, Commander decides to [[KnightTemplar kill all criminals, regardless of crime]].]]
** The award probably still goes to the [[spoiler:Spider]] Dopant from the Kamen Rider Skull prequel in the "Movie Core War". Unable to live with unrequited love and having a well-hidden, but highly homicidal sense of [[GreenEyedMonster jealousy]], he gained the power to turn people into bombs, set off when a carrier touches someone they love, in a rather horrendous expression of IfICantHaveYou. He ends up detonating a good part of the city in a single go, [[MoralEventHorizon just to prove the lengths he's willing to go to make everyone as miserable as him.]]
* MadeOfDiamond: Jewel, quite literally.
* MagmaMan: Magma, who else?
* MoneyFetish: The Money Dopant.
* MonogenderMonsters: Averted; people become Dopants regardless of gender. An even funnier detail to this aversion is that some of the more 'manly' Gaia Memories, like[[spoiler: T-rex and Triceratops]] do in fact have female users.
* MookMaker: The Commander Dopant can create FacelessGoons called Masked Soldiers out of thin air.
* MythologyGag:
** Hopper is based on a grasshopper and fights with powerful kicks. [[Series/KamenRider Sound]] [[Series/KamenRiderKabuto familiar]]?
** Cockroach having SuperSpeed as its main power.
** Masquerade Dopants seem to evoke the design of the original {{Mooks}}, the Shocker Combatmen.
* OneWingedAngel: Certain Memories (particularly the ones based on animals) can make their user a larger Dopant, done in CGI.
** Quetzalcoatlus is this right of the bat, with no intermediate humanoid form ever seen (though this might be partly because the "user" was a parrot).
** [[spoiler:Bird]] does this as a result of its Gaia Memory evolving.
** [[spoiler:Commander upgrades his Gaia Memory to increase his power, changing form in the process.]]
* OvernightAgeUp: Old's specialty, at a price of about 10,000 yen for every year he ages the victim up. (Payment up front.)
* PeoplePuppets: Puppeteer, though he mostly sticks with his dead daughter's CreepyDoll.
* PsychoForHire: Cockroach and Old.
* RightHandOfDoom: Violence, whose left hand is an EpicFlail.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Several are motivated solely by revenge.
* ShockAndAwe: [[spoiler:Energy]] in the finale.
* SmallNameBigEgo: The [[BigEater Sweets Dopant]]. [[spoiler:She considered her restaurant to be "the best in Futo" despite the fact that it folded and closed in ''less than a year''. Unfortunately, this lead to her snapping and using the Sweets Gaiamemory to kidnap and enslave Patissiers to be her personal source of sweets.]]
* StockDinosaurs: T-Rex and Triceratops.
* StringyHairedGhostGirl: Virus can come very close, even though she's still alive (though in a coma).
* SuperSpeed: Cockroach, Smilodon, and Donburi.
* SweetTooth: Sweets, who sneaks desserts while working as a maid for the Sonozaki family.
* TeleportSpam: Zone.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: [[spoiler:Jewel and his friends]]. Him finding out that his two friends loved each other didn't go... well with him, which was very similar to Isamu Bitou and [[spoiler:the Beast and Zone Dopants]] (he had no problems with them getting together, [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy but still got screwed over for it]]).
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Other than anyone with a Memory, Dummy can take on the appearance of anyone he wants, usually the dead to take advantage of the dead person's loved ones.
* WellIntentionedExtremist:
** Triceratops.
** It ''seems'' to be this way with the original Cockroach, as he believed he was being a superhero.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity:
** Memories used without a Driver madden their user, [[spoiler:and Drivers can be modified to mimic the effect of direct insertion]].
** Using a Memory without the bio-port will cause grievous bodily harm and even death with extended use, as seen with the underage high school students who shared the Bird Memory.
* {{Yandere}}: Several of the Dopants are this trope, including the T-Rex Dopant, the Violence Dopant, and the Spider Dopant.

!Foundation X '''(unmarked spoilers)'''
[[folder:General Tropes]]
Foundation X is a shadowy organization funding experiments on human evolution; this does not just include Gaia Memories but also [[{{Foreshadowing}} a certain class]] [[Series/KamenRiderOOO of medals]].

* TheBusCameBack: After being absent from most of the later Heisei shows Foundation X finally returns in the [[Series/KamenRiderExAid Kamen Rider Brave]] special of all things.
* EvilMinions: Foundation X has their white-clad researchers.
* EvilutionaryBiologist: They seem interested in artifacts which can further human evolution.
* GreaterScopeVillain: In addition to funding Museum and the Gaia Memories, Foundation X have been behind a number of other villainous factions as well.
** Katsumi Daido, the BigBad of ''Double'''s summer movie, was originally a test subject of theirs who went crazy thanks to one of their researchers.
** While they don't appear at all in ''Series/KamenRiderOOO'', the end of ''Double'' implies they had a hand in the research of the Core Medals.
** Foundation X reappear in ''Series/KamenRiderFourze'' where they supported Gamou in his endeavors with the Zodiarts and TheMovie depicts a business transaction between Gamou and one of their representatives.
** The villain of ''Film/KamenRiderXKamenRiderFourzeAndOOOMovieWarMegaMax'' is a rogue member of their organization, Lem Kannagai, and the first part of the movie deals with the Riders attempting to prevent a substance called SOLU from falling into Foundation X's hands.
** Kaisei Mogami, the BigBad of ''Heisei Generations FINAL Build And Ex-Aid With Legendary Riders'', is another rogue researcher of their organization (though his World of Build AlternateSelf received funding from [[Characters/KamenRiderBuildNambaHeavyIndustries Namba Heavy Industries]] instead of Foundation X).
** In the special ''Kamen Rider Brave: ~Let's Survive! Revival of the Beast Rider Squad!~'', a member of Foundation X appears as the ones behind the revival of [[Series/KamenRiderRyuki Takeshi Asakura]] and the formation of the Beast Kamen Rider Squad.
* MookCarryover: In ''Movie War Mega Max'' Foundation X employ the {{Mook}}s of dozens of other villain factions, including Masquerade Dopants, [[Series/KamenRiderOOO Waste Yummies]] and [[Series/KamenRiderFourze Stardust Ninja Dustards]].
* NebulousEvilOrganization: A mysterious organization that backs the research of several other villainous groups.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: This is their hat as an organization whenever they take the active role as villain themselves. Nearly every member of Foundation X who actually takes on a combat form does so by combining at least two different power sources, and sometimes even more. They also have the ability to replicate the mooks and even the bosses of nearly every villainous organization from W onward, so their forces are often a chimera of various villain groups.

[[folder: Jun Kazu]]
!!Jun Kazu/Utopia Dopant/Kamen Rider Eternal Red Flare | [-Actor: Gong Teyu-]
A representative of Foundation X, which researches Gaia Memories for the Museum. He rescues Saeko when she is attacked by the Smilodon Dopant and her Taboo Memory is destroyed, and reveals that he wants to help her overthrow Ryubee.

* TheBlank: This is what he does to everyone associated with Philip in order to jumpstart the Gaia Impact.
* CharacterTics: [[DramaticDrop Frequently becomes startled and drops things.]] Becomes a BrickJoke when you see how he inserts his Gaia Memory.
* DeadAllAlong: Killed by Katsumi/Kamen Rider Eternal in Eternal's V-Cinema, and was then taken back to the headquarters by subordinates, turning him into a Necro-Over.
* EnergyAbsorption: He literally sucked Accel's SuperMode right out of him, then used the energy to ''[[KillItWithFire set him on fire.]]''
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Before his own atrocities occur in the series, he considered Dr. Prospect's "Heaven's Fall" brutal even by his standards during that time.
* FinalBoss: He's the last major threat faced by Shotaro and Philip in the series.
* IconicItem: His briefcase, which contains the T2 Gaia Memories.
* LightIsNotGood: A well groomed, impeccably dressed man clad in white who possesses the "Utopia" memory, which transforms him into an elegant gold Übermensch. On the other hand, utterly ruthless, calculating, and barely capable of expressing any emotion even ''before'' he died.
* LogicalWeakness: Utopia's ability is to drain hope from its opponents and turn it into power, and is shown to be absolutely devastating when used against other living beings. However, this means that the ability is worse than useless against targets that have no concept of hope, such as mechanical automatons and inanimate objects. Shotaro manages to figure this out in time for the final battle, and deploys the memory gadget robots against Utopia to incredible effect, and even blocks the hope-draining ability ''with his hat''.
** This is also a critical factor in Eternal's V-Cinema, where Utopia can't draw power from Katsumi, who's a zombie and therefore doesn't have any hope to draw from.
* MindOverMatter: The most commonly used of Utopia's powers. Turns out this is actually his own psychic power as a Quark.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: He's a Dopant, a Necro-Over, a Quark, and a former Kamen Rider as well.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: After he's defeated, his body disintegrates.
* NotSoStoic: Calm and cold until he finally breaks down out of frustration at Saeko for not returning his feeling or appreciating his effort to make her "Queen" of The Museum.
* PowerFloats: A variation: Kazu usually makes ''everything else'' float when he's about to use the Utopia Memory, or just showing off his psychic powers.
* RealityWarper: The Utopia Memory's power is granting the wishes of its user.
* TheStarscream: Appears to have offered to help ''both'' Sonozaki girls overthrow their father.
* SubordinateExcuse: Claims to have feelings for Saeko and thus wants to help her defeat her father. While Saeko is keen on defeating Ryubee, she finds Kazu repulsive enough to want to avoid his help.
* TooSpicyForYogSothoth: How he is defeated. He uses his hope-draining ability on [=CycloneJokerXtreme=], but ends up absorbing much more energy than he can handle.

[[folder:Neon Ulsland]]
!!Neon Ulsland | [-Actor: Maria Theresa Gow-]

Jun Kazu's superior, a seemingly foreign woman in charge of the Foundation X front Charming Raven.

* GreaterScopeVillain: She seems to be a high-ranking member, if not the leader, of Foundation X and is the one who terminates Foundation X's research into Gaia Memories after Jun Kazu is defeated.
* IconicItem: Her stopwatch.
* ScheduleFanatic: The moment her stopwatch beeps, it's off to the next task.
* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: Justified, as Maria Theresa Gow's father is Scottish and her mother was a Filipina. Of course, she still can't pronounce Museum.

!Others
[[folder: The Futo Irregulars]]
!!!Played by Nasubi (Watcherman), Zennosuke Fukkin (Santa-chan), [[Music/{{AKB48}} Tomomi Itano (Queen), Tomomi Kasai (Elizabeth)]]
Shotaro's informants, nicknamed after the Baker Street Irregulars from the ''Franchise/SherlockHolmes'' series. These consist of Watcherman, an anonymous blogger; Santa-chan, a man who dresses as Santa Claus and wanders around Futo handing out presents; and Queen and Elizabeth, a pair of "street" teenage girls.

* BigEater: Watcherman and Santa-chan go though several bowls of ramen (eight each, to be exact) in the time it takes for Akiko to make a phone call.
* ButtMonkey: Watcherman finds himself the target of most of the show's comedic violence.
* CatchPhrase: Santa-chan's "Merry Christmas!"
* {{Ephebophile}}: Played for laughs with Watcherman. He's not ''actually'' one, but he operates a blog that gathers pictures of cute girls who consented to be photographed and his {{Otaku}} mannerisms make him seem like one.
%%* FunnyAfro: Watcherman.
* InformedAttribute: Queen and Elizabeth don't spend a lot of time in ''high school'', do they? Given their ''Gyaru'' aesthetics it's very likely they're skipping school.
* {{Joshikousei}}: Queen and Elizabeth.
* {{Kawaiiko}}: Elizabeth.
* {{Otaku}}: Watcherman, though it's [[Literature/TrainMan2004 not the first time]] the actor has played one.
* ShipTease: ''Begins Night'' and the ending of "The B Carried on the Wind" implied that Elizabeth has a crush on Philip. "If Philip-kun's not going to eat his candy apple, then let ♥ me ♥ do ♥ it! ♥"
* SomeDayThisWillComeInHandy: Santa-chan gives Shotaro a bunch of miscellaneous crap in episode 4, including a deck of cards. [[spoiler:Shotaro later plays a winner-take-all game of Old Maid with the Money Dopant, and won in the end with those same cards.]] [[BrickJoke The cards reappear briefly in ep. 12.]]
* ThoseTwoGuys: Watcherman and Santa-chan count, with Queen and Elizabeth as Those Two Girls.

[[folder:Shroud]]
!!Shroud[[spoiler:/Fumine Sonozaki]] | [-Actor: Naoko Kouda-]

Her main role in the series is as a supplier of gear, particularly to Ryu, Philip, and [[spoiler:Isaka]]. [[spoiler:She is later revealed to be Ryubee's wife and is exacting revenge for what happened to Raito/Philip.]]

* BandagedFace: [[spoiler:Caused by her husband, no less.]]
* TheChessmaster: Her opponent is Ryubee Sonozaki. Fitting the show's hardboiled theme, a billiards metaphor is used instead of chess.
* ChildhoodFriends: [[spoiler: Movie Wars reveals that she's childhood friends with Sokichi, who helped her hide from Ryubee. In exchange, she made the Skull Memory for him]].
* EmbodimentOfVice: Wrath, the only thing Shroud has left.
* EvilMentor: Shroud tries to be this to Terui, encouraging him to embrace ThePowerOfHate to become her weapon in her revenge against Ryubee. Eventually Terui rejects her mentorship and finds a better way.
* EvilVersusEvil: [[spoiler:She's not much better than Ryubee, if at all, being directly responsible for the deaths of Accel's family.]]
* GoneHorriblyWrong: [[spoiler:Giving Isaka the Weather Memory]], although her warped sense of perspective means she's initially upset about it for all the wrong reasons.
* TheGunslinger: Her Shroud Magnum, a PaletteSwap of the Skull Magnum. Comes with the Bomb Memory for a rather deadly Maximum Drive.
* HeelFaceTurn: It takes until almost the very end, but Shroud is able to make peace with the last of the Sonozaki family. [[spoiler:In so doing, she stops the unbeatable Wakana, saves Philip's life, and earns her happiness within the Earth's memory.]]
* ItWasAGift: All of Ryu's equipment, Double's Frog Pod and Denden Sensor, the vehicles and gadgets that Double inherited from Skull, Skull's own Memory, and [[spoiler:Isaka's Weather Memory]] were all handed to them by Shroud to further her plans.
* LivingOnBorrowedTime: Shroud's sheer fury seems to have been the only thing keeping her alive after the injuries that led her to bandage her face. When she finally lets go of her hatred, she perishes soon after.
* LukeIAmYourFather: [[spoiler:She's Ryubee's wife and the mother of Saeko, Wakana, and Raito (Philip), whose face was burned by Terror's ooze after she refused to have Raito used as a Museum experiment.]]
* NiceHat: As do most of the cast.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Her motivation is getting revenge against Ryubee for [[spoiler:taking Raito from her]].
* {{Teleportation}}: Seems to have the ability to teleport objects in rings of fire as well as [[StealthHiBye reappear and disappear.]] While an explanation for ''how'' she does this isn't given in the series proper, WordOfGod implies [[spoiler:[[PsychicPowers she's a Quark.]]]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Few people have done so much evil in the name of good.
* XanatosSpeedChess: [[spoiler:The events of the entire series effectively amount to a game of XanatosSpeedChess between her and Ryubee]].
* YouHaveFailedMe: You no longer hate your opponent as much as you used to? Now you're useless to her, and she'll send you off to die.

One of the effects from the serum that kept them active was the gradual vanishing of their emotions: by the time of A to Z, most -if not all- of them had already fallen to this, even if most of their personality traits were retained. * AllYourPowersCombined: Eternal can channel a 26-memory Maximum Drive with all of the T2 memories.
* BadassCape: The Eternal Robe. From the setting, it can block electric shock, fire, blizzard and physical attacks, making him almost imprevious to most type of damage.
* FinishingMove: Five of them.
** Eternal 1: ''Eternal Requiem''[[note]]An energy wave that nullifies all non-T2 Gaia memories. Can also be used as the power source for a spinning Rider Kick as portrayed in ''W Returns: Kamen Rider Eternal''.[[/note]]
** Eternal 2: ''Bloody Hell Blade''[[note]]A Rider Slash using the Eternal Edge.[[/note]]
** Unicorn: An unnamed Maximum Drive where Eternal executes a Rider Punch through drill shaped energy.
** Zone: Another unnamed Maximum Drive that brings all T2 Gaia Memories (within a certain radius) to Eternal, placing each one in a Memory Slot.
** '''T2 Gaia Memories''': ''Never Ending Hell''[[note]]Eternal absorbs massive amounts of energy and can manipulate it to use as a finisher.[[/note]]
* KnifeNut: Eternal Edge.
* MythologyGag: His design somewhat resembles that of Kiriya's Oni form from ''Series/KamenRiderHibiki'', while following the trend of white movie-exclusive Riders like [[Series/KamenRiderFaiz Psyga]], [[Series/KamenRiderHibiki Touki]] & [[Series/KamenRiderDenO Den-O Wing Form]].
** Other fans say Eternal looks a little bit like a color-swapped [[Series/KamenRiderAgito G3 Mild]], with [[TheCape a]] [[BadassCape cape]] and no [[{{BFG}} huge]] arsenal of [[MoreDakka firearms]].

* WeaksauceWeakness: His creepy floating eyes can also be used to predict his opponents moves in a fight, but Katsumi gets around this by using his Eternal cape to hide his attacks from his sight.
* BlowYouAway: The Cyclone Memory.

* CallingYourAttacks:
* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning:

* FusionDance:
** It's not really two people fusing into one, but more like the soul of one person goes into the other's body. So there's a limp body that needs protecting.
** Played straight when Double's [=CycloneJokerXtreme=] form fuses both Shotaro's and Philip's bodies together.

* BerserkButton:
* TheUnchosenOne:

* AttractiveBentGender: See DisguisedInDrag below.

* PreAssKickingOneLiner: "How thrilling!"

* IconicItem: Her slipper.
* OfficialCouple: With Ryu.

* CatchPhrase: Four of them.
--> "Don't question me."[[note]]"''Ore ni shitsumon wo suru na."/"Don't ask me questions."[[/note]]
--> "Now, let's break away!"[[note]]"''Saa, furikiru ze!''"/"Now, I'll shake you off!"[[/note]]
* OfficialCouple: With Akiko.
* PunctuatedForEmphasis: "Hen... '''''SHIN!'''''"

* FinishingMove: Several:

* IconicItem: His back scratcher.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Makura.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Detective Shun Makura]]
!!Detective Shun Makura | [-Actor: Shingo Nakagawa-]

* SmallNameBigEgo: ''In spades''.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Jinno.

As the Terror Dopant he can produce deadly liquids, literally make people fearful, [[spoiler:and summon a dragon from his headdress. After Double defeats him with the Double Xtreme Maximum Drive, he returns to the burning mansion, dying in a maddened state.]]

* AffablyEvil: Somewhat.
* TheChessmaster: ''Everything'' he does is in the name of his goal of [[spoiler: making everyone on the planet connected to the True Gaia Memory like Philip was to prevent an extinction event from ever occurring.]]
%% * ChewingTheScenery: "'''XTREEEEEME!'''"
* TheDon: The Sonozaki family operate Museum much more like a Mafia than a Yakuza, despite operating out of Japan.
* PapaWolf: On the surface, his behavior towards Wakana is this, in contrast to [[TheUnfavorite his treatment of Saeko]]. The truth is more complicated.
* SanitySlippage: [[spoiler: Aside from the obvious moment before his death, he also was merely a bad father before Raito died and was reborn as Philip. It's only after that incident that he truly started to become monstrous.]]
* SocialDarwinist: While using the Gaia Memories to weed the weak-minded out of society isn't his ''aim'' per se, he certainly doesn't mind it as a consequence.
* StealthHiBye: Capable of these ''without involving Gaia Memories.''
* SupernaturalFearInducer: His Terror Memory's main power, creating fear in others via a fear-inducing ooze that he produces in vast quantities, resembling an oil spill.
* TragicVillain: His FatalFlaw of ambition ultimately costs his family their happiness and unity, as well as [[spoiler:his sanity and, ultimately, his life, as he spends his final moments laughing like a madman in his own burning, crumbling house]]. He'd be a good fit in a Creator/WilliamShakespeare play.
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler:His Terror Memory being destroyed along with his entire scheme being thwarted just as it was about to succeed causes him to ''snap''. He dies dancing blissfully as the Sonozaki mansion is burning to the ground around him, laughing insanely.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler:Driven by a fear that humanity would one day become just as extinct as all the long-gone species in his museum, Ryubee set about a plan to meld humanity with the Earth itself.]]
* XanatosSpeedChess: Implied between him and Shroud.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: To [[spoiler:his ''wife'']], of all people.

* EnemyMine: Versus [[spoiler:Utopia]].

* TheRival: To Double.

* BattleCouple:
* {{Expy}}:
* TheGunslinger: Arms.
* AnIcePerson: [=IceAge=].
* MadeOfDiamond: Jewel, quite literally.
* MagmaMan: Magma, who else?
* MoneyFetish: The Money Dopant.
* MythologyGag:
* PsychoForHire: Cockroach and Old.
* StockDinosaurs: T-Rex and Triceratops.
* TeleportSpam: Zone.
* WellIntentionedExtremist:
** Triceratops.
** It ''seems'' to be this way with the original Cockroach, as he believed he was being a superhero.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity:
[[/folder]]

* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: He's a Dopant, a Necro-Over, a Quark, and a former Kamen Rider as well.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Neon Ulsland]]
!!Neon Ulsland | [-Actor: Maria Theresa Gow-]

Jun Kazu's superior, a seemingly foreign woman in charge of the Foundation X front Charming Raven.

* GreaterScopeVillain: She seems to be a high-ranking member, if not the leader, of Foundation X and is the one who terminates Foundation X's research into Gaia Memories after Jun Kazu is defeated.
* IconicItem: Her stopwatch.
* ScheduleFanatic: The moment her stopwatch beeps, it's off to the next task.
* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: Justified, as Maria Theresa Gow's father is Scottish and her mother was a Filipina. Of course, she still can't pronounce Museum.
[[/folder]]

* CatchPhrase: Santa-chan's "Merry Christmas!"
* {{Joshikousei}}: Queen and Elizabeth.
* {{Kawaiiko}}: Elizabeth.

A mysterious woman dressed in a black trenchcoat and oversized fedora, her face covered with sunglasses and bandages.

* DeadAllAlong: [[spoiler:NEVER was a project by the Museum and Foundation X reviving people to use as {{Super Soldier}}s.]]
* EvilCounterpart: To Double's own Gaia Memories. [[spoiler:Although Cyclone isn't evil.]]
* FallenHero: The group began acting as mercenaries, still holding onto their ideals. One of the effects from the serum that kept them active was the gradual vanishing of their emotions: by the time of A to Z, most -if not all- of them had already fallen to this, even if most of their personality traits were retained. [[spoiler:That and their failure to save the Quark project subjects drove them insane.]]
* PhlebotinumRebel: Villainous version. [[spoiler:Though originally this wasn't the case.]]

!!! Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Eternal
* FinishingMove: Five of them.
* KnifeNut: Eternal Edge.
* PaletteSwap: Eternal Red Flare from ''W Returns: Eternal'', which is revealed to be the result of using the experimental T1 Eternal Memory. Its resonance with Daido causes it to evolve into Blue Flare before burning out entirely.

!Characters appearing in ''Kamen Rider Skull: Message for Double''
[[folder: Seiichiro Matsui]]
!! Seiichiro Matsui[[spoiler:/Spider Dopant]] | [-Actor: Taro Yamamoto-]

Called Matsu, he is Narumi Soukichi's friend and partner from 1999. He helps Soukichi on his cases by researching in libraries, which causes Akiko to compare him to Philip. [[spoiler: However, his jealousy of Soukichi leads him to become the Spider Dopant, eventually kidnapping Melissa with the intent of marrying her. Soukichi as Skull stops him, however, and defeats him with a Rider Kick, at the cost of Matsu's life.]]

[[folder:Doctor Prospect]]
!! Doctor Prospect/Eyes Dopant

A doctor sponsored by Foundation X and leader of the Quark project, designed to augment humans with PsychicPowers.

* BigBad: Of ''W Returns: Eternal''.
* TheDreaded: The Quarks, people with amazing PsychicPowers, are absolutely ''terrified'' of him. And with good reason!
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: He's a very intelligent man, but he's also a complete maniac with no regard for human life.
* SinisterSurveillance: One of his powers as the Eyes Dopant is to implant Quarks with an "eye" that allows him to watch their every move. [[spoiler: Said eyes also can be used to kill their bearers in case of escape]].
* SuperSenses: Of the sight variety.
* WeaksauceWeakness: His creepy floating eyes can also be used to predict his opponents moves in a fight, but Katsumi gets around this by using his Eternal cape to hide his attacks from his sight. Even before that, Kamen Rider Eternal did considerably better against him, likely due to him previously using muscle movements and facial expressions to predict his movements, which he couldn't see inside the suit.
