* HatesEveryoneEqually: Her summoning quote has her announcing her hatred for everyone, including her summoner, all with a smile and a giggle.

* CatSmile: One of her cutscene expressions; she seems fond of using it when she's feeling particularly proud of herself.

* AllergicToLove: Zigzagged. She claims to be disgusted by all forms of affection directed towards her, and considers her feelings for her Master to be akin to nausea. But she also made a bunch of pretty boys to hang out with and have love/hate relationships with and grows increasingly close to the player as her bond level goes up. Assuming her objections aren't a front she's putting on, it's likely she wants to pursue love but gets nervous and uncomfortable when it comes to actually acting on that desire.

* ClingyJealousGirl: It's practically a package deal with her normal tsundere antics in "Pseudo-Singularity I: Quarantined Territory of Malice: Shinjuku", and whenever she feels that Altria is garnering more favor with the protagonist than she is, it drives her absolutely nuts. The Archer of Shinjuku makes the mistake of teasing both girls about their jealousy of Mash at one point to they respond quickly, wordlessly, and violently.

* EndearinglyDorky: In a very weird way. She's wrathful, doesn't really care about morality, and not entirely sane, but she tries so hard to hide her softer sides and play to the "evil" image that she undermines her own villainy and comes across as much goofier than the other Alter Servants. It's {{lampshaded}} ''constantly'' in "Da Vinci and 7 Counterfeit Heroic Spirits" by ally and enemy alike, with the fake Hector in particular referring to her as "adorable".

** [[spoiler:During "Pseudo-Singularity I: Quarantined Territory of Malice: Shinjuku", she says that Moriarty's plan to destroy the world is a bit much. She even admits that [[HypocrisyNod she doesn't have a much of a leg to stand on after the "First Singularity: Hundred Years' War of the Evil Dragons: Orleans"]].]]

* FormFittingWardrobe: Her casual outfit in "Pseudo-Singularity I: Quarantined Territory of Malice: Shinjuku" (which can be bought from the Da Vinci event rerun shop) is stylishly sensual as it is -- and it doesn't even show any skin at that.

** Looking at her in-story personality and characterization, it would seem as if she feels inadequate compared to the pure and original Jeanne d'Arc. Within the metagame, however, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who ''wouldn't'' favor Jeanne Alter's Avenger class, her boasting the highest base ATK in the entire game, an Avenger's 1.1x ATK multiplier, and pro-active play-style use over the original Jeanne's defensive support usage which shines best in stall teams.
** Due to being some kind of evil spirit, Ruler Jeanne can simply exorcise her if she feels like doing it. But in-game, Jeanne Alter has class advantage over Ruler.

* GratuitousFrench: Her Noble Phantasm's name, "La Grondement Du Haine" ("The Roar of Hate"). French language uses gendered determiners even for genderless things, and in that case they got both wrong: it should be "''Le'' Grondement ''De La'' Haine".
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:At the end of Ordeal Call II, when she's starting to disappear from the instability of her Spirit Origin in conflict with the plot, she manages to give the Protagonist one last smile before she vanishes from right in front of him.]]

* HarmlessVillain: After the "First Singularity: Hundred Years' War of the Evil Dragons: Orleans", the trouble she causes to Chaldea is incredibly minor. Whenever something ''does'' go wrong, she doesn't even get considered as a mastermind compared to the likes of Archer of Shinjuku, Rider of the Resistance, Mephisto, Caesar, or Paracelsus.

* LostInTranslation: In the original Japanese version of the game Jeanne Alter calls the Protagonist "Master-Chan" as an AffectionateNickname, this isn't present in translations most likely because it wouldn't make sense why a French woman would be using Japanese honorifics. This is reinforced by the fact characters like Osakabehime and Sei Shounagon who are Japanese and use variants of the same nickname[[note]]Ma-Chan for Osakabehime, and Chan-Mas for Sei[[/note]] are kept in other versions.

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: She's an insanely inept leader during the the "First Singularity: Hundred Years' War of the Evil Dragons: Orleans". She forces all the Servants under her charge to undergo Mad Enhancement which either doesn't work because of compatibility issues or makes those like Vlad weaker as a result; the champions of Europe she enslaves for the irony actively try to sabotage her and the fiends of the nation who go along with her plans don't get along at all. And because of the way the Grail works, the more Servants she summons, the more that are Chain Summoned in turn, and because her lieutenants frequently leave one another to die to save their own hides while their foes work together, the protagonist's group eventually outnumbers hers. She even manages to squander warriors as powerful as Lancelot and fails to capitalize on Jeanne's doubts borne from all this happening so soon after her unjust execution because many of those Chain Summoned Servants help restore her faith in herself and France.

* PlayingWithFire: As opposed to the regular Jeanne, whose La Pucelle is a last resort suicide attack, Alter makes ''very'' liberal use of her La Grondement Du Haine: Roar, O Rage Of Mine's ability to summon flames and burning stakes. Makes sense, since Ruler Jeanne's represents her sainthood and martyrdom, while Avenger's is pure hatred for the ones who burned her. It is mentioned in-game that this version of Jeanne, because she is not the actual Jeanne, was never burned to death. She doesn't have the concept of being on fire killing her, thus she can handle her own flames.

* ThePowerOfHate: She has a moment in "Pseudo-Singularity I: Quarantined Territory of Malice: Shinjuku" where she stresses that all Avengers are so obsessed with filling a void inside themselves that they cannot help but lash out and destroy anything. It's powerful, but the hatred can never subside or be satisfied, so they just continue to burn themselves out until there's nothing left. As a result, she actually believes that whenever you see an Avenger, you should kill them for their own good. [[spoiler:She does indeed nearly burn herself to death when trying to take out or at least stall Lobo, but shows up for a last minute dance with the protagonist after the singularity has been resolved.]] This is even reflected in the name of her Noble Phantasm, which translates into English as "The Roar of Hate".

* RequiredSecondaryPowers: Averted, "Pseudo-Singularity I: Quarantined Territory of Malice: Shinjuku" reveals that her flames also burn her and her enemies. At one point in chapter there is a real danger that she could kill herself with her own flames.
* SheCleansUpNicely: [[spoiler:At the end of "Pseudo-Singularity I: Quarantined Territory of Malice: Shinjuku", she changes into a fancy dress to dance with the protagonist. The protagonist is momentarily startled by it, but its noted she looks very nice regardless.]]

** Her new My Room dialogue while wearing her Shinjuku outfit ''oozes'' this. At first she wants the protagonist to stare at her, only to get embarrassed when they actually do, saying that it disgusts her and makes her stomach squirm. However she ''also'' said something to that effect in the final moments of "Pseudo-Singularity I: Quarantined Territory of Malice: Shinjuku" while dancing with the protagonist, so it's more likely she has a sudden case of the butterflies.

* OxymoronicBeing: Described as an "avenger without vengefulness", it is only through becoming an Alter that she can even manifest in the class. As a result, she possesses the Berserker Class Skill Mad Enhancement.

He is the GreaterScopeVillain of ''Fate/stay night'' and ''Fate/Zero'', and makes his first appearance in this form in ''Fate/hollow ataraxia'' as the original Avenger-class Servant and main character. During the game, he made his official debut in the "Fate/Accel Zero Order" event. He appears in the "Merry Christmas in the Underworld" event because his Grail Mud is tied symbolically with Tiamat's Chaos Tide. He also appears in the 6th Valentines event focusing on Bazett and Caren. [[spoiler: He's the choclate fairy helping Manannán]]

* BackFromTheDead: His bond CE allows him to revive once during a battle with 20% of his HP. His upgraded third skill revives him with 50% of his HP if he dies within six turns of its use, and they can both be stacked. In a case of GameplayAndStoryIntegration, this is why he "survived" the attack from Assassin Emiya at the end of "Fate/Accel Zero Order". In his own words, "Dead, but not really dead. You see, resurrection is my speciality."

* {{Foil}}: He's described as being a foil to Aŋra Mainiiu. While the premiere Avenger was born out of wretchedness and rage, he eventually grew to appreciate love and nobility thanks to his companions. While Edmond was supported and cherished by several allies who helped make his revenge possible, he's stuck obsessing over hatred and retribution due to the infamy of his legend affecting his Saint Graph.

* OneWingedAngel: For his FinalBoss fight, he uses his Final Ascension, a far more menacing, powerful, and complex design than his previous ones.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: The official spelling his name is "Aŋra Mainiiu" as opposed to the commonly used Angra Mainyu. Neither of them are wrong or really different in this case, just "Aŋra Mainiiu" can be considered a much older way of spelling it.

Another version of the Count of Monte Cristo, Edmond Dantes. He debuted in Ordeal Call II: Id - Irreparable Wasteland Hole as the main antagonist.

* YourDaysAreNumbered: [[spoiler: As a summoned Avenger servant post Ordeal Call II, he makes it very much clear from the get-go that his Spirit Origin is already in a rough unstable state, and it won't be long before he either crumbles apart or he quickly jumps ship to join the Avengers currently in Antarctica. That being said, he makes it very clear that for whatever time he has left with the Master, [[DoNotGoGentle he wants them to use him and his flames to their hearts content.]]]]

* ADayInTheLimelight: She has two, fitting her BreakoutCharacter Status. She shares "Pseudo-Singularity I: Quarantined Territory of Malice: Shinjuku" with Altria Alter, and "Ordeal Call II - Irreversible Trash Heap, Id" is mostly for her, though it touches on Avengers as a whole as well.

* BattleBallgown: Marie's Third Ascension decks her out in an opulent black ballgown and a cape bearing the fleur de lis on her back. According to regular Marie's comments about the fake one, this was her mourning gown.
