The Noyama Family
Noyama Azusa (AKA Azuki)
The protangonist who lives through her life in a small urban district.
- Affectionate Nickname: Azusa's rather unfortunate nickname is Azukinote due to a mishap from mispronuncing of her name by her childhood friend, Ken. However, it becomes the go-to nickname for her love interest, Yūnosuke.
- Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Subverted for Azuki's father after Yūnosuke makes positive remarks on him.note

- Hates Being Alone: Azuki and Daizu go on a summer vacation to the countryside in Sendai in which it irritates Azuki who had no opportunity of meeting Yūnosuke.note

Azuki and Daizu's father. Husband of Keiko.- Drives Like Crazy: He struggles to obtain a driver's license.
- Jack of All Trades: He shows this in a single episode.note He is talented in mimicking voices that once earned respect when he was a university student who helped absent students by shouting in their voices during roll calls, can fix residential electric circuits as well as cook.
Noyama Keiko
Azuki and Daizu's mother. Wife of Tadashi.- Extreme Doormat: She becomes one after being unable to refuse a request to store second-hand items for a neighborhood bazaar meeting in the Noyamas' household.

Azuki and Daizu's grandfather. Father of Tadashi and father-in-law of Keiko. Anime-only character.- Grumpy Old Man
- Impersonating an Officer: Humorously applied as he is an actual ex-police officer who pretends to become a cop in order to entertain Daizu.note
- The Power of Love: He finally tolerates the intimate relationship between his granddaughter, Azuki, and Yūnosuke after the voice of his wife appears in his mind.note
The Ogasawara Family
Ogasawara Yūnosuke
Azuki's love interest and classmate.- The Diaper Change: He is good at it due to the experience of babysitting his much younger relatives.
- New Transfer Student: And thus the love blooms in Azuki's heart.... as well as Yōko's.
- Nice Guy: To both boys and girls.
- Real Men Cook
Yūnosuke's Father
- Badass Driver: He is a former amateur race car driver.

- Salaryman: To the point that he has experience of going to Paris and New York City for business purposes.
The Takayanagi Family
Takayanagi Ken
Azuki's childhood friend and Kaoru's love interest.- Butt-Monkey: Being the worst offender in the series.
- Dumb Jock: He plays baseball.
- Jerkass Realization: Ken is on the verge of Rage Quit after an unproductive baseball match to the point that Ken blames Kaoru, but apologizes indirectly to her later on.note
Ken's Father
Runs a ramen joint called Manruiken. Anime-only character.

The Kodama Family
Kodama Midori (AKA Jidama)
Azuki's friend- Tomboy: As well as being aggressive. Hence, there is a No Guy Wants an Amazon vibe going on with a couple of male characters around her. Due to this, Feminine Mother, Tomboyish Daughter relationship is shown in the anime.
- Hates Wearing Dresses: Except for girls' kimono
Kodama Aoi
Jidama's mother who works as a nurse. Appeared in episode 102. Anime-only character.- Parental Neglect: Justified as she is a nurse who is often on duty and experiences a dilemma whether she takes care of her daughter or works as a nurse in a hospital.
