When the CIA agent asks him if pulling it off would kill him, Bane calmly remarks, "It would be extremely painful." Literal truth! It's an anesthetic mask that's crucial for his survival due to the injuries he got in the Pit. He then promptly turns the comment into a threat by adding "''for you.''" [[spoiler:In their second fight, when Batman damages Bane's mask, Bane ignores all forms of fighting and just starts punching through columns.]]

* In ''Film/ManOfSteel'', the normally calm Clark goes nuts when Zod [[TooDumbToLive threatens]] [[spoiler:Martha Kent]].
