Wraith Knight

  • The Nine Heroes get one despite all becoming Fallen Hero types. They manage to bring an end to the Eternal Recurrence of Great Shadow Wars by taking the fight directly to the King Below and killing him permanently. Which is an insane plan to Kill the God.
  • The opening of the story has Jacob end up battling two dragons simultaneously and winning. This helping establish that despite only recently getting his free will back, he is an absolute badass and terrifying to normal humans.
  • Jon personally slaughtering a hundred men by himself in an enormous mecha that was about to breach the Lakeland capital city walls. He drains them to heal himself, kills more, drains others, and repeats.
  • Jacob calling out Jon Bloodthorn (an Expy of Conan the Barbarian) and preceding to fight it out in a hand-to-hand duel with their magical mounts in front of two opposing armies. Jacob manages to win but given Jon Bloodthorn was a Badass Normal, both of them acquit themselves well.
  • Jacob, Regina, and Serah fight against the Great Abomination that is a seven-headed dragon with shades of Dungeon and Dragons's Tiamat.
  • Jacob assuming the mantle of the King Below but refusing to use the Brainwashed and Crazy powers that comes with it to enslave the Shadowkind races as they were previously.

Wraith Lord

  • The revelation that Jacob divided his power as a god with his two wives, not wanting to be lord over them but in an equal partnership.
  • Jacob manages to fight a Ice Demon (an Expy for a Balrog) in order to protect the ghetto containing all of the city's nonhumans. The Ice Demon doesn't recognize Jacob's authority as the King Below and is confused why he would bother trying to protect innocents. Jacob proceeds to prove why he is THE God of Evil, morality be damned.
  • Jacob and Regina manage to take down Fel Hellsword as well as Thermic Redhead in a two way duel in the former's Mad Scientist Laboratory. It is a contest of sword and sorcery for the first and brute force for the latter.

Wraith King

  • The entire opening battle of the book is a massive seven chapter conflict between the massed forces of the Southern Kingdom versus Jacob's Iron Order. It includes dragon fights, airships, artillery, wizards, and gryphon flights.
  • Jacob launches a One-Man Army assault on the Lightbringer, which is the Empress' flagship. He's so terrifying that they attempt to blow up the ship to take him out.
  • Jassmine's Chronic Backstabbing Disorder reaches its own sort of Memetic Awesome when she proceeds to wipe out both the armies of good AND evil with what amounts to a Kill Sat, blasting an entire mile to ashes with a solar flare.
  • Jacob uses a Portal Door to turn Jassamine's Kill Sat against itself. The actual awesome is it required him to calculate the rotation of the Earth and the object in orbit as well as the speed to hit it.
  • Jacob finally defeats and imprisons Jassamine after an exhausting Mêlée à Trois between him, Kurag Shadowweaver, Morwen, and the Saint herself. He proceeds to bind her to the Castle of Everfrost and buries it in the World Below.
