Awesome / Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

• Aurora singlehandedly figures out that Queen Ingrith cursed King John and gets dangerously close to stopping her plans entirely on her own.
  • Aurora builds a Bedsheet Ladder out of her wedding dress (actually Ingrith's), tricks the guards into thinking she used it in order to escape while they investigate, then actually uses it to swing down into Phillip's arms.
• Phillip defies his mother and jumps off the tower using a floating balloon.
• Diaval is being crushed under a pile of knights when suddenly he turns into a huge bear to send them flying off. As he had been stuck in human form, Aurora knows what this means.
  Aurora: Godmother.
  • Cue Maleficent coming out of the glowing clouds, wings flaring, unleashing blasts of green magic like a demonic creature out of Hell.
• Knotgrass and Thistlewhit causing Gerda to fall from the balcony after she murders Flittle and the other Moors is very cathartic to watch. ...just don’t think about the fact there was nothing between her and the two-story tall Ents, the whole time.
• After a whole movie in which Maleficent didn't transform herself once, seeing her transform into a phoenix and destroy the castle is satisfying as hell.
