Awesome / Les Misérables: Shōjo Cosette

• Cosette calling out the entire Thenadier family (minus Gavroche) over their beliefs that Fantine purposely abandoned her over the lack of payments. She even scares Madame Thenadier out of her wits! And she doesn't get punished for this.
• How about the time that Chou-Chou growls at Madame Thenardier to step away from Cosette as she accused the poor girl of stealing from a resident of the inn. He runs insides to track down the item, takes Cosette on his back, and they race out the find the owner.
• When Valjean offers a generous sum to cover the Thenadiers' "losses", M. Thenadier tries to get more by saying he would be willing to part with Cosette for nothing if Valjean had proof of his good intentions, or for 15000 francs. Valjean then produces a letter, written in Fantine's hand, saying that Cosette will be safe with him. It's good enough for Cosette, and Valjean quickly takes back the money before M. Thenadier can get it. This is a welcome departure from the novel, where Valjean knows he's being scammed but pays just to get it over with.
  • This gets even better in the next episode, as the Thenardiers call over Javert to report that Cosette has been "kidnapped" by Valjean and are so "sad" over what terrible things could be happening to her. Then Gavroche storms in and calls them out on their lies and abusive treatment of Cosette. Even as his father is trying to shut him up and dissuade Javert to not easily believe a child over his parents, Gavroche still sticks to his guns and chews him out! The kid then tells Javert that Cosette went willing with Valjean to go to her mother. Madame Thenardier pulls out Fantine's letter while bemoaning over her "worries" of Cosette's "kidnapping", but Javert points out this is proof that Fantine gave her consent to give Cosette to Valjean, proving once and for all that she wasn't kidnapped. Javier also asks them if they had received money from Valjean over Cosette, which they didn't. Javert tells them that's good news for them, because if the Thenardiers have actually sold Cosette to Valjean, he would have arrested their asses right then and there.
• Valjean and Cosette organizing a search party to find a missing little girl for a distraught mother. On one of their searches, a random jerk outright tells them it's pointless to find a child that's "obviously abandoned", Valjean confronts the asshole and chews him out over his callousness.
• Chou-Chou saving Gavroche from the barricade.
• Javert kicking down the door and arresting Thenardier for the second time, when the latter was about to kill Marius (who thinks that Javert has already been killed by Valjean). Cue Marius looking baffled and Javert saying, "You look like you've seen a ghost."
