Moments subpages are Spoilers Off. You Have Been Warned!

  • Gabimaru spending the first chapter/episode no-selling several grueling execution methods unscathed while looking utterly bored. Decapitation? The sword breaks against his neck. Burned at the stake? He’s not even singed. Split apart by bulls? The bulls tire themselves out trying to pull him apart. Death by boiling oil? He walks out wondering why he won’t die. Sagiri later deduced that he’s surviving purely on reflex.

    • After all of that, it becomes a testament to Sagiri’s own strength and skill that Gabimaru imagines her cutting his head off and makes him start defending himself.

  • Gabimaru openly calling out the Shogun for using the convicts for bloodsport.

  • When the remaining prisoners start to zero in on him, Gabimaru in spite his reluctance to kill and his restraints, shows them no mercy when pushed and slaughters whoever comes after him. He slices their necks open with his bare hands and feet before they can react, and bites one unfortunate convicts' throat out. All of their with his hands tied.
    • As Gabimaru washes their blood off himself in the ocean shore, both the shogunate and the Yamada express shock and disgust towards the way he killed them all. Which lead to Gabimaru throwing their method of executions methods back at them.

  • Sagiri had a major Showing Up Chauvinists moment when she not only requested to Genji that he view her as a samurai first and a woman second, and when he tried to kill her for it, she not only dodged his strike, but also swiped his sword from his hands.
  • Genji accepting Sagiri as a fellow samurai and giving her his sword.
  • The entire battle against Rokurota is a Crowning Moment of Awesome. Not only was Gabimaru's ninjitsu on full display but as for Sagiri... well... how many levels in badass did she take during that fight? She deflected Rokutota's punches with her sword at some point!

  • Shion decapitating Zhu Jin from afar by throwing his blade through their neck.

  • Tenza's sacrifice. With several holes punched through his own chest and Shion bleeding from the neck, Tenza gets up and punches Zhu Jin in the face. And he keeps punching even when Zhu Jin blasts a hole in his gut to buy Shion and Nurugai time to run.

  • While surprised by their strength and speed, Gabimaru spends the start of his battle with Zhu Jin with the upper hand in skill and repeatedly maims them in their exchanges.
    • Zhu Jin decides to stop playing around and just pummel Gabimaru with a barrage of invisible blasts. Overwhelmed, unable to dodge or guard, Gabimaru scrambles for a way to counter and settles for simple one; run through the barrage and beat Zhu Jin into the ground with a flurry of punches.
    • Zhu Jin quickly switches up and engages Gabimaru in a Pummel Duel, but Gabimaru still outperforms them physically. Zhu Jin loses chunks of their flesh while Gabimaru keeps his, and is unable to keep up with the ninja's speed until they get punched into the dirt.
    • Retroactively made all the more awesome when it's later revealed that Zhu Jin has water aligned tao and should've had the advantage over Gabimaru's fire tao.
