• Furbies were briefly banned from all federal buildings in the US out of fear that they might be used as recording devices. Their ability to understand the noises they hear was vastly overestimated back in the day, and this led the US government to fear their power.
• Many bootleg and knockoff Furbies speak a shared language distinct from Furbish, called "Furdish" by the fans. It's pretty neat that Furby-adjacent toys from so different countries and manufacturers can talk to each other.
