Spoilers Off

  • The opening montage is filled with this, depicting a group of regular people becoming absolute badasses as the "Las Vengeance" search & rescue team during the initial outbreak. The Soccer Mom in particular.
  • While dark and a subject of guilt, the sheer efficiency of Lily having gained enough of a savvy, to know how to diplomatically deal with the Alphas.
  • Chambers' Dying Moment of Awesome. Betrayed and left for dead by Martin and in the midst of a kitchen full of zombies, she fights savagely, empties her assault rifle and minces a dozen of them. The zombies grab her but she pushes them off, draws a knife and pistol (and then two pistols) and begins pushing her way through the horde with John Wick-esque finesse. Then she finds Martin barred the exit and trapped her inside, and she's grabbed and dragged off-screen. She is still not finished. She bursts through a window with two zombies holding onto her, and takes them out with clean headshots. And then four more. Only then, physically exhausted and out of ammo, is she overwhelmed and bitten several times. She shouts for Mikey to run, and gives him a final approving nod when he shoots the fuel cans on her back. She and the horde devouring her go up in a fireball. If you've got to go out...
  • Scott fearlessly killing a whole bunch of Alphas on his own immediately following the death of Maria, armed with just his pistol and his knife. He goes absolutely berserk on them, fuelled by both his experience of "Las Vengeance" during the outbreak and the rage of having just seen his best friend (and ill-fated potential Second Love) being killed by them with a nasty Neck Snap.
  • Guzman also has a Dying Moment of Awesome that, while lower key than Chambers', also mirrors her death with his suicide by grenade that wipes out numerous zombies.
  • Vanderohe managing to last as long as he did bare-handed against Zeus, even if he was ultimately infected.
    • When Zeus is about to kill Vanderhoe Dieter, who is not a combatant and hadn't fought a zombie before that day, steps in and manages to save Vanderhoe, getting him inside the vault. Doubles as heartwarming. Triples as a Tear Jerker since it costs Dieter his life.
    • Also counting when both Dieter, and Vanderhoe both mow down a group of charging Alphas, armed with only pistols, until Zeus himself shows up, just makes their soon to be last stand, all the more awesome.
  • Scott coming to the rescue of Kate and Geeta just as Zeus was about to attack them, and him temporarily dispatching the king of the zombies with a grenade launcher.
  • Scott eventually blowing Zeus' head to bits with a gunshot, even though he got bitten beforehand.
    • Peters managing to continue to pilot the helicopter with the above fight is going on inside, and herself having been shot in the shoulder.
