During the 80s and 90s, a series of commercials were made for Cadbury's Caramelnote chocolate bars that revolved around the following format: an animal would be seen minding their business (whether it be something like a beaver munching down on a tree or a white rabbit worrying about being late for a tea party) when, all of a sudden, the Cadbury's Caramel Bunny (voiced by Miriam Margolyes) would appear alongside them, get their attention, and convince them to "take it easy" with Cadbury's Caramel bars. The commercials would often end with the tagline "Take it easy with Cadbury's Caramel" (or a variation of the phrase).
The bunny briefly returned in 2009 to promote the launch of Caramel Nibbles, with the tagline "Still got it". Unfortunately she has since vanished from the public eye again, but does appear as a greetable character at the Cadbury World
attraction in Bournville, Birmingham.
Take it easy with the following tropes:
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: The bunny only wears a big pink bow tied around her neck.
- Cardiovascular Love: Characters in awe of the bunny's beauty would often emanate red or pink hearts.
- Love Makes You Dumb: Other animals would act noticeablely more foolish after spotting the bunny. For example, a beaver lets a tree with two squirrels on it fall to the ground, much to the squirrels' frustration.
- Luminescent Blush: In the bee advert, a mole who has burrowed underneath where the bunny was sitting does this after she offers him a Cadbury's Caramel bar.
- Ms. Fanservice: The bunny herself, who's defined by her alluringly calm and laid-back voice with a West Country accent, sultry demeanour, slender and curvy body, and only wearing a pink ribbon.
- Paparazzi: Two weasel paparazzi meet the bunny in this advert.
- Pungeon Master: The bunny is fond of greeting other animals with puns.Bunny: Hey Mr. Bee, why you always buzzing around?
- Shout-Out:
- The beginning of one commercial has a white rabbit say "I'm late! I'm late for a very important date!"
- Another commercial had an adaptation of The Tortoise and the Hare with the Hare getting far ahead as usual, but losing to the Tortoise because he stopped to enjoy a Caramel bar with the bunny.
- Suicidal Lemmings: One commercial featured a lemming that was about to run right off of a cliff... until the bunny gets his attention and tells him about Cadbury's Caramel and the chance of winning a Nikon camera.
