20:Concluding Remarks

In conclusion, PDWT isn't just poorly done- at some point, the creators seem to have become aware of it, and rather than try to make it acceptable, they poked fun at some of its shortcomings. Unfortunately, intentionally making something So Bad, It's Good is far more difficult than making something decent-quality, so getting all the right nuances to achieve this was beyond the creators' (limited) capabilities. It's hard to tell whether it was most due to laziness, a lack of a budget, or an inability to write a good story, although it's obvious that the creators didn't care much about the end product. From the almost complete lack of FMV cutscenes to the slipshod and haphazard story to the endings that come out of nowhere, PDWT fails in almost every regard.

Still, it is amusing in its own way, and worth at least a few laughs at its expense for its poor quality and overall absurdity. It's also fairly original for a bad game; rather than being a knock-off of something more successful or another soulless and rushed licensed game, it's an early Visual Novel, and has design flaws that few would think of unless they were trying. In conclusion, PDWT is So Bad, It's Good without the developers trying (or perhaps they did try to make it that way, but didn't succeed in the way they'd hoped), and so perhaps it's a good thing that the people responsible for it spent an afternoon shooting photos and not much longer putting the game together.

On a final note, apart from this liveblog, I'd most recommend watching the Angry Video Game Nerd's review of PDWT, since he focuses on the "best" parts of the game, complete with the Nerd's commentary on the absurdity and poor quality of it all.

Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you again on one of my other liveblogs.

THE END.
