TEG Chapter 8: Misogyny, Plot Holes and Treason

Written By: Thomas
POV: Jerry

BIC once again protests being mocked, denies being a troll, and says Satan is lying to the others. Surprisingly enough, he actually lists some people who are on his side this time. BIC then goes on a tirade against "Mr. Rowling" for not obeying her husband. He declares that women should not speak out of turn and should obey their husbands, and if they're not married, their fathers (This reminds me of the "three submissions" to women- first to their fathers, then to their husbands, then to their sons), and cites the Book of Genesis as his proof.

The chapter picks up where it left off, with Mary saying that her baby is a boy, and will be named after Thomas. He's happy to hear the news, but annoyed that Mary spoke out of turn, citing Paul's Epistles, and telling his critics that he is an expert on the Bible.

Mary, despite only just having learned of her pregnancy (which, admittedly, in bad fanfiction, can happen at any point in the pregnancy, from just after having sex to just before giving birth), is told to rest and prepare for the baby, while doing "women's work" like making clothes. Jerry continues to teach his followers while claiming to have King Solomon's wisdom.

Zeus and Percy arrive, threatening to kill everyone else, but Jerry sends them away, and they return to the mansion to plan.

Jerry goes to the next town to visit a church and warn them about Percy's coming attack (which Percy himself told Jerry about), staying there for a week. During this time, he realizes that Ethan is the traitor, as he had lied about repenting. Jerry believes that he was wrong to ever trust him. The logical fallacies that denouncing his idea of conversion now brings aside, this contradicts prior developments, as Ethan was not a Prayer Warrior when Jerry heard about the traitor. After a week has passed, Jerry returns to save his followers from the traitor.

An author's note follows, praising people like Mel Gibson and Chris Brown who put their women in their places, among others that the author chooses not to mention.

Next Installment: Jerry deals with the traitor and has his final showdown with Percy.
