MLLSD Omake 9: The Web Version, Yet Again

It's another web edition, which means that there's mostly 4koma strips this time.

Orange Pekoe visits Darjeeling's house, and is on her best behavior, bowing to Darjeeling with SFX that are similr to her name. Much to her surprise, not only does Darjeeling's mother resemble her (it's relatively common for fictional children to resemble the parent of the same gender), but so does her father, as well as her cat, dog, turtle and bird. Darjeeling, apparently somehow telepathic, is pleased that Pekoe dreams about her, but Assam suggests that it's a nightmare.

Apparently, a common piece of GuP Fanon is that Darjeeling is the daughter of the headmistress of St. Gloriana, whose name is usually "Lady Grey" (of all the "tea names," that probably sounds the most "noble" sounding). Incidentally, in such fics, Orange Pekoe is also said to be Darjeeling's sister.

Assam wakes up in the night with an idea for a joke and, unable to call someone at this hour or find a notepad, scrawls it on her hand. She can't remember what "Black Pig" "Meringue" and "100 Tales," means, and even with the note about 100 Tales, neither can I. Apparently, Darjeeling's in the same boat, asking Assam if she's into "dark magic."

Among Leopon Team, Suzuki advises Hoshino (the one who doesn't wear the top to the coveralls) to dress properly, and Hoshino assures her that it's fine, since no one can see them, but gets self-conscious when she's told that "The Leopon" is watching.

Rabbit Team decides to make a "Rabbit Dance" to compete with the "Anglerfish Dance" (ignoring that it's deeply embarrassing in universe, and that Anglerfish Team was, in all likelihood, named because they did it together). They dance in bunny suits, chanting "Usasa" (presumably based on "Usagi", which is Japanese for "rabbit"), and waving around kitchen knives, which Hana finds to be "a bit much." Saori, however, wants to adopt it, and Caesar and Oryou wonder what the "Hippo dance" will be like.

Nonna tricks Katyusha into taking a Japanese proverb about following in another's footsteps literally, and has her drink the dirt under her fingernails, much to Nonna's pleasure. It honestly seems as though Nonna's fairly one-note in MLLSD, as are a good portion of the reset of th cast.

Nonna, presumably on Katyusha's orders, swings her around to use centrifugal force to make her taller, but accidentally lets go of her, causing Katyusha to hit her head and lose two centimeters.

Miho is impressed with Yukari's survival skills, and Yukari says that she intends to make use of all the skills she honed over the years to help protect Miho (it's worth noting that while Yukari has been working on them for years, she only heard of Miho after the incident in the previous finals). Miho reassures Yukari that she has a good handle on the basics, and asks her to help the others, much to Yukari's disappointment.

Nonna and Katyusha order sushi, and Nonna assumes that Katyusha doesn't want Wasabi. Katyusha insists that she does, though, although she apparently finds it disgusting, and Nonna tries to take a picture of her in the process, coyly turning away when Katyusha turns.

Yukari re-enacts tank battles with Miho and the others, imitating Miho's voice, when her mother nonchalantly walks in, much to Yukari's embarrassment.

Pekoe sees that Darjeeling and Assam are imitating each other's appearance and personalities; the fact that they have the same hair color, a similar hair length, and have to wear a school uniform certainly helps. Pekoe then undoes her hair, apparently to follow suit.

Next Installment: Yet another Web Edition chapter.
