The Battle Of Zaofu

Pros:

I really did like how Korra's psychological state is still affecting her during this battle. Showcasing how her character arc isn't over yet.

I also liked how Korra tried to TALK to Kuvira first showing how her development she was supposed to have in the first two seasons actually sticked.

The build up to the fight was rather good.

Cons:

So much of Varrick going "Oh Ju-Li!" just really feels unnecessary along with the "plot twist" for a character who was mostly there for comedy.

(Minor) Why the heck are they trying to make us feel bad for Kuvira's Husband (forgot his name) and his family when we BARELY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEM AND THEIR BOND BESIDES THE BETRAYAL?!

Overall: Yeah this is pretty short but I don't really have too much to say about this episode. It's alright but compared to the other episodes in this season its rather mediocre. Especially since this is the episode with Varrick whining just because he lost Ju-Li (justified by the way) when he should be getting some Character Development if they are so willing to play this for drama so badly. Plus its also kinda hard for me to feel bad about Kuvira's husband and his family when we barely know anything about them except that his husband is crazier than Kuvira (I think even TV Tropes says so) and that he betrayed them in Season 3.

But there are some pluses in this episode that balances it out, first off, I liked how Korra's character arc isn't over and how she still needs to overcome her own demons in order to prepare for the challenges later on. I also still like how she actually tried to talk to Kuvira instead of charging into battle. The reason I emphasize this so much is because most of the series claims that she changed but she still acted like the rash girl she was from Season 1 (she just learned new lessons, that's it). Now, I'm seeing a step in the right direction (in terms of personality change) but its far too late to be honest.

I also kinda liked the build up to this fight to be honest. It's not the best but its nice.

But overall, a rather decent episode and...to be honest, I was slightly (very slightly) disappointed due to some of the flaws bringing it down a bit for me (even if there was two).
