Chapter 3: Professor Oaks Drug Courier

Setting out through the dangerous grass that Oak had warned her about, Scarlet hesitantly creeps through it, hoping to avoid any encounters with wild pokemon that might tear her face off. She manages to make it out of the grass unharmed, and thanks Arceus for her luck. She once again sneaks through, and manages to escape unharmed once more. Eventually, she reaches a proper path, and starts walking along it, only to be stopped by a sales clerk standing in the middle of the road.

Clerk: Hey there! I can't believe it! I've been here for months, and I haven't meet anyone in all that time. Who knew that a small road to a crappy town would get so little foot traffic, huh? Here, free samples!

-Scarlet obtained a Potion!-

Clerk: Ok, cool...

Scarlet sets off for Viridian once again, but the Clerk stops her once more.

Clerk: Wait, hang on! If your going to Viridian, can you head to the pokemart? I think they forgot I'm out here... You can go now. I'm ready to cope with the loneliness again.

Scarlet continued along the path, but had to pass through another patch of grass. Hoping shed have the same luck as before, she now walked confidently through the grass. However, one of the "dangerous creatures" jumped out it her.

"Dangerous Creature": Rattata!

Scarlet might never have left Pallet before, but she knew that Rattata weren't dangerous. She sent Blasty out, and he took it down with three tackles. She knew Oak was senile, but this was ridiculous. She continued on, and this time was approached by a different pokemon. Maybe this one was one of the things Oak had mentioned.

No, it was a Pidgey. Blasty took that out in one or two moves too, and managed to learn to fire bubbles at people while he was at it.

Scarlet finally reached Viridian, and headed to the Pokemon Center. The pokemon on route one hadn't been too tough, but the gradual Scratch Damage had taken its toll on Blasty. She sat and down and waited for Blasty to get healed. She noticed an old man beside her with a newspaper. On the front cover was a picture of the man she had meet on route one, on a missing person sign. She was reminded of what the man had said to her, and headed over to the Mart when she picked up Blasty.

When she eventually got to the Mart, she was greeted by the Clerk, who seemed to have a limited degree of psychic power.

Head Clerk: Hey, Scarlet, you're from Pallet Town, right? Can I get you to deliver something to Oak?

Scarlet was about to tell the Man about the Clerk on route one, but once again, his psychic powers beat her to it.

Head Clerk: Huh? Oh, that guy? Yeah sure, I'll handle it. Anyway, this package is a "special delivery" I got in for Oak. Will you take it to him? Oh, cool, thanks. Here.

The Psychic Clerk passed her the parcel, and she managed to fit it in to her bag. She was about to nod goodbye, but he got to it first.

Psychic Clerk: Right, See ya.

Leaving the Mart and its strange Clerk, Scarlet headed back for Pallet, jumping over the ledges along the way. Eventually, she got back to the lab, and walked up to Oak. Strangely, BATMAN was still in the corner, murmuring quietly about how unfair it was.

Oak: Oh! Scarlet! Good to see you! How's that Charmander I gave you?

Scarlet, hoping to get out of the lab quickly, handed him the parcel.

Oak: Oh, it's my meds! I haven't had them in a while. I think they got a new intern over at the shipment company, and he keeps sending me pokeballs. I don't need them, so you can have them.

-Scarlet obtained the Pokeballs!-

Oak: BATMAN, you can have some too.

Oak went over, and tried to hand BATMAN the pokeballs, but wasn't going anywhere, so just slid them into his pocket.

-BATMAN got reverse pickpocketed!-

Oak: Huh? That's strange. Looks like I got sent a Pokedex this time too. Welp, Scarlet, you take this too.

-Scarlet obtained the Pokedex-

BATMAN straightened up at the word Pokedex, and walked over.

BATMAN: Hey, Gramps? Did you say pokedex? Do I get one?

Oak: Ok Daisy, you can have a Pokedex too. Here you go!

BATMAN: No Gramps, I'm... huh.

-BATMAN obtained the Pokedex!-

BATMAN: Right then, I'm off. Scarlet, I'm gonna get more pokemon, and then I can beat you! Your reign of victory is over!

With that, BATMAN triumphantly left the lab. Scarlet stuck around, intending to ask Oak about the Dex, but once again, he had fallen asleep. So, once again, Scarlet left the lab, wondering what pokemon she'd be able to catch.

Uh... I hate the start if Gen 1. It's so bland...

Anyway, that should be ending soon, and we'll be on to Viridian forest.

Now that I can catch Pokemon, feel free to suggest nicknames for pokemon I'll be encountering in the next couple of routes. Also, I'd like to now what you guys think so far. Are you enjoying it?
