About my treatment of sex scenes

Obviously, I can't go into graphic detail here. What I will do is score the scene based on various common annoyances and unwished-for tropes, and general titillation factor.

Things I find annoying are Captain Obvious statements, the girl saying no half-heartedly all the time, and general extreme lack of realism. Normally I'd be a bit miffed about birth control not being used, but I'll let it slide here. I mean, it's kind of hard to get, and Coitus Interruptus always works anyway, right?

Review

This used to be in a folder, but folder markup doesn't work on liveblogs. Blame someone.

Annoyances: 0.5/10

  • Birth control: Actually mentioned and considered by male.
  • Captain Obvious: none.
  • Japanese No: one. (0.5)
  • Assumed(I's a virgin) realism: high.

Titillation: 6.5/10

  • Bit short

LESS ERO, MORE GE

After a pleasant night, including a kiss while hugging as requested by Yuka (but no CG, dash it), the pair retrace their steps to where they split off from the rest. Perhaps a good move, given that they have no weapons (alarming).

They neither see nor hear anyone, and when they retrace their steps to the raft, it's gone - though their bags are there. Troubling.

Sasaki-san goes for a kiss, but it's interrupted by distant sounds of splashing. It's the raft, and the rest of the party is on it! Dayum. So did they really get off with no injuries, or what? I guess so - Takuma smiles at our couple when he sees them, after all.

ACT 2, SCENE 2

Oh dear, poor Tano-chan's left hand got grazed by a bullet during all the excitement yesterday. Apparently, he's having trouble moving it. Now that's an awkward handshake, if they ever have to...

Since Tanomura's hurt, Tsukasa suggests walking to a nearby hospital. I'm not sure about this, but ok, might be worth a try. As they arrive, they sense people are nearby - as expected. Takuma, having developed some paranoia after yesterday's events, wonders if it's safe. Tanomura thinks so, and who are we to question him?

The hospital building itself isn't doing so well, but tents and improvised hobo-stoves have been added to compensate for this. Indeed, hospital activities seem to actually be proceeding. Tanomura goes off to speak to their leader, while the rest feel out of place loafing around. Hibari notices a curious sight: lots of people just lying around on stuff that wouldn't keep them warm, in the open. A closer inspection by Tsukasa reveals that, big surprise, they're all dead.

Interestingly, Aroe recognizes one of the dead guys, making sure to offend maximally by slapping his cheek and grabbing his hair. When Yuka pulls her back, this has the added effect of acquiring the hair of a dead man. While this would be excellent if our party consisted of witches, the current members are not thrilled. The guy's name is Fukasawa, and he's in a picture in Aroe's notebook - I forgot to tell you this detail; Aro-chan carries a notebook with various pictures inside, that she associates with words and stuff. When she wants something, she often uses the book to point beside saying what she wants.

Tanomura returns, and finds a somewhat gloomy party; he remarks upon this. He stays in good cheer, though. Apparently, there's a refugee camp close by. Also, the hospital staff is going to bury the corpses. Sentimentality reigns, and our heroes decide to help them out. Well, at least the men. Tano and Yuka held Hibari back from the burying, because of course girls shouldn't work... or something. Alright, so they were assigned interpersonal jobs in introducing the men, but still.

In the end, it's fairly dark when they get to the camp. Melancholy music plays. Apparently, there were a darned lot of deaths in this part of the city, too. The citizens have gotten used to the corpses - one remarks that the ones that died from freezing are good, as they don't look as bad as guys that got burnt or crushed.

Apparently, nothing's been heard from outside areas. At this point, I wonder why satellite phones wouldn't work - there must be some somewhere. Well, at least we know there's no outside help coming. And no way of surveying the damage, apparently. Makes me wonder when food/energy supplies will run out, really - the city's in trouble. Though, cynically, at least the dramatic reduction in the town's population means less mouths to feed. And yes, it seems to have been dramatic.

The actual emergency shelter is in a middle school. Amazingly, not only is there some administrative procedure established to join, but the electricity works, since yesterday. Holy crap, the electricity works. That's some tough cable.

About 300 are living at the shelter, and the paperwork is basically name, age, occupation and any chronic diseases. Probably not notable, but Tsukasa's number is 547. Apparently young, uninjured people are a rarity, and the admins actually try to recruit much of the group straight away. Tanomura stalls.

Soon, the party is once again made whole as the boys join the girls. Yuka announces there are actually hot springs around, and that she's planning to take a bath - and the rest follow.

Hey, didn't end on much of a cliffhanger. Surprise!

Saving game...
