Friends (Happy Birthday to me!)

6/12 Saturday 24 days until Full Moon

“Good morning Amano,” Mitsuru said as she greeted Minako. ”Yamagishi shall be living in the dorm. She will now be the one providing support for us. So, now I can rejoin the front line.”

“Good, you’re reliable.”

I suspect she’ll be on my core four.

“Yes, you can depend on me,” She replied. “Even though I am a bit out of practice, I will soon return to my prior form.”

Alright. I believe I spotted a fusion for another Hireophant. Don’t want to fall back on Omoikane too often.

Minako fused Tam Lin and Valkyrie together for Berith.

BerithHireophant One of the 72 demons of the Goetia. He rides a gigantic horse and burns those without manners. He is the duke of hell.

Minako entered the bookstore, Berith making her more in-tuned to the Hierophants. “Um dear, you spelled it wrong. There are two k’s,” Mitsuko said to her husband who was writing a letter.

“I know, I know!” Bunkichi replied. “I just forgot to write the second one. I feel bad for Minako-chan and all the people who’ve been campaigning to save the tree…”

Eheh.

“Oh! Speak of the devil,” Bunkichi said as he noticed Minako. “I’m writing a letter—something I haven’t done in ages. But, I can’t remember how to spell half these words! Am I finally losing it? I used to have such an amazing vocabulary.”

“Why are you writing one?”

“Sorry, can’t let you see it. Top secret.”

…he did mention something about disappointing me…

“I’ll tell you when the time comes Minako-chan.” Mitsuko said.

“Well aren’t you curious?” Bunkichi asked.

“I’m itching to know!”

“We feel the same way. Everyday, we just can’t wait to see you!”

I…aheh. Wow. That feels nice. Evenifimnothelpingthematoutallaghguilt.

“I hope we can clean up the store before you come back next time.”

Minako said goodbye to the two. As she went home, a ninth card slipped into place.

“Hi, how was your day?” Fuuka said as she greeted Minako home. “Um, since I’ll be substituting for Mitsuru-senpai from now on just tell me when you want to go to Tartarus. I’ll do my best.”

Minako giggled. “So hello then. Welcome to the dorms.”

“Um, it’s nice to see you again. They said I could move in Sunday but I decided to come a little earlier. I wanted to begin helping you all as soon as possible, but I didn’t have enough time to pack so I don’t have everything with me.”

“You’ll be alright then?”

“Yeah, I’ll bring in the other luggage tomorrow.”

“Hey Mitsuru…I’ve heard some rumors about Mr. Ekoda…”

“Oh. Well, in life, there are some things you don’t want to know about…this is one of them.”

…she is quite scary when she is like this.

“Fuuka wasn’t supposed to join until Sunday afternoon but she really wanted to come today.” Akihiko told Minako. “I’m glad she wants to be part of the team. I’m looking forward to the next mission.”

“I guess all that talk about Fuuka being sick wasn’t true.” Yukari told Minako. “At first, people were saying she was absent because she was being bullied but then they started saying she was really sick. Strange huh? She seems perfectly healthy to me.”

I’m betting that excuse was made up to cover for those bullies. “In her best interests.” I really hate Ekoda now.

“Hi, I’m Trish with today’s installment of ‘Who’s Who.’ Today’s subject is a man in his 30s, with sunglasses and a long hair that reaches to his back. When I asked what he did for a living, he became upset. Hmm…why might that be…?”

…I think I recognize this guy. He was friends with Big Sis. Kinda scared me as a child.

I gave a letter to the postman. He put it in his sack.

6/14 Sunday 23 days until Full Moon

Who’s calling? I really want to visit Bunkichi and Mitsu-

“Yo, Junpei here. You got some time?”

“It’s okay.”

“Hey wanna do something today?”

…sorry bookstore couple. Bropei trumps.

Jack Frost gave delighted hee-hos as Minako accepted the invitation out.

The two went out for Takoyaki. Minako smiled and ordered for both of them.

“Hey! Come on, I can pay-“

“Ah ah! My treat. For victory over math!”

The two chowed down happily. “I didn’t notice that this area gets pretty busy during holidays. I never really had much business here besides the restaurants and manga café.”

Still a good chunk of the businesses around this place. The two watched the crowds for awhile.

“Development seems to be moving forward around here too these days. Doesn’t it surprise you to see new buildings pop up so suddenly? This area’s probably gonna go on changing too.”

…yeah. Just in three years, things could change so much.

“But you know, our memories of having fun here with our friends will last forever. I don’t know how to put it but…I think it’s really important to have memories of your friends. It’s something I’ve been thinking about more lately…aw man, am I sounding like something out of a shonen manga?”

“I think it’s wonderful.”

Seriously. He’s right about those memories. People do, they really do, need others to help them along in life.

“Ooh, so you actually like sappy stuff like that? Then I’m gonna keep going. The reason I can say this stuff out loud is because I realized how important friends are. That’s why I gotta make as many memories as I can with you! Alright, let’s start by eating some more hot takoyaki!”

The two went for more, and when they sat down, Minako remembered she had something to give. She gave him the knit rabbit she made with Bebe. “Here. I don’t know if you are the type of guy who will like a handmade doll but…I think you would like this for some reason so…here!”

“Seriously, this is really cool! Thanks for this. I don’t think it’s lame at all. This is sweet!”

Minako giggled a little. “Thanks.”

“Hi. How was your day?”

“Excellent Fuuka. How did you packing go?”

“I finally moved all of my things in. It’s all my old stuff, but once I had it all in my room, I felt revitalized. I’m still struggling a bit with the layout though.”

“Hello Ikutsuki.”

“Fuuka is surprisingly adept at using technological devices. And she is a nice girl, always considering the feelings of those around her. Her name suits her perfectly. ‘Fuu’ means the wind and ‘ka’ means flower. She’s like a flower gently blowing in the- um, never mind. I-I’ll stop talking now.”

…yeah. Got a bit creepy there.

“Our enemies seem to be getting stronger and stronger,” Akihiko told Minako. “You need to train every day to keep pace with them.”

Eh. More like one long fight at Tartarus. Speaking of which…bed.

After a check on…

Phoenix Ranger Featherman R Episode 17: The Priestess’ Revival!

“Snrk.”

Minako had an odd dream with Junpei using his Persona to make amends for his mother’s death and she was fighting him because she was opposing him. For some reason or other. All she remembered was this epic fight, with sword and Jack Frost dying miserably of blasts of fire before Hermes.

...Yeah, Baofu does seem like the type who'd scare kids.

Seems strange that he hasn't changed too much in 10 years. And shouldn't he be 42?

I noticed that too. The Who's Who ages are a bit off sometimes.

Of course, it's possible that he just didn't state his age and Trish is guessing.
